May i ask what you mean by aspirating? Because for the last two nights I have been feeling like something was in my throut or maybe just thightness. It's hard to explaine! I do not need to cough or anything just a strang feeling. Could you please explain in more detail? Thanks, Stacy

Sounds pretty normal to me. But I do know it is a kinda weird to finally feel your port. Sounds like you just did alittle to much and made your port sore. It takes a while for the port to heal. I was banded in April 2007 and mine has just now got to the point to were it is not sore all the time. But to be on the safe side I would call the Dr. Hope this makes you feel better!!!!!!!!!! Stacy

Hi crispy2 I have had a pain in my right side mainly but it has hurt on the left a few times. I think it is gas pains because it will go away for a while if I take a GAS-X. But my pain kinda feels like a kidney stone and in the place. But I have had CT to rule that out. I would just tell my Dr.thats what I am going to do!!! Stacy

I was banded in April 2007. I have had three fills and finally feel retriction after the third. I had 3cc's added first fill had 3 cc's added second fill and did not feel anything. I really think he might of missed on the second one because i felt nothing at all .( Is this possiable?of course they say no because then they would have to do the next one for free!!!LOL)Then I went for the third one and they only could find 3 cc's from the other two fills. ( I really really think he missed!!!!) So he said don't worry it could just be in the tubbing so he added 3 more cc's. So i should have 9cc's but they are only saying i have 6cc's. But finally I have retriction But it is so far from my sweet spot. At least now when i don't chew well i finally feel that something is there. And it hurts like Hell!!! Is this normal ? I don't seem to be looseing weight like I was at the start. Does anyone know anything about this and how your sweet spot should feel? Would someone please help!!!!! What did it feel like when you finally got restriction? I mean did you get sick or did you just feel full??? I just need something to go by. Please help I have a 10cc band and I am already up to 6cc and due for another fill on the 19th. My weight loss has pretty much came to a halt. Thanks, Stacy

Thanks for your support. I know I will get there I just get so frustrated! It's all great when the scales are moving but ,when they stop OH boy here comes all the quilt of what am i doing wrong. I just keep remindeing myself that I have lost 40lbs since April 30th 2007. ( AND I HAVE TO GIVE MYSELF A YOU GO GIRL!!! LOL) It all boils down to I just want the scales to move a little faster. Thanks! I do have the big band it is the only one my Dr. uses. So i have 6cc in a 10cc band. So hopfuly I am getting close to my sweet spot. Good look with your refill!!! Thanks, Stacy

Thanks for your reply. I am still losing a little. It just don't seem to be one pound a week. I may go several weeks with no weight loss and then some weeks I will lose 4 or 5 pounds. The scales just keep me real frustrated. So I hope when I go back on the 19th he gives me a little more. This just seems to be a really slow process. But hey I have lost 40 lbs since April 30th 2007. So I guess I really should not complain!!!

I went for a fill on july 25th and had 3ccs added for a total of 6 this was my second fill now i do have the vg 10 so it is the larger of the bands but any how. I also feel as if i can eat more after the fill. So i did call the Dr. today and the nurse just returned my call and she said she would talk to the Dr. on Monday and see if he wants to give me another fill. So i ask her is it true that it can sometimes take a few days to feel the fill and she said that was true in some people But she did also make it very clear not to eat more than i was before because it can lead to damage .So just watch what you are eating. Hi Susan my name is stacy and i was just wondering when you where banded and how much weight have you lost. Becouse i just had my first fill and i felt the same way you did . I was loosen weight and all so why fix what is not broken. But my Dr. gave me a fill anyway. I have a vg10cc band and he gave me a 3cc fill. and i was bande April 30th 2007!!! Thanks Stacy

Hi everyone my name is Stacy and i got my band April 30th 2007. I had my first fill on June 6th 2007 and at first i had alot on restriction but after about four days i felt like i did before the fill are maybe even looser. Has anyone else had the happen to them? I have the big VG 10cc band and the Dr. added 3cc. Could the restriction been from my stomach being swelled? Someone please help i am getting so frustrated. The weight is still comeing off but it's because of me not the band. I guess what i mean is that i am still hungrey. Ihope everything is OK. PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS NORMAL!!!!! I have already posted this once but it was on the wrong thread i think it was on pre-op and post-op ?s and answers. Sorry just wanted you know i was not being pushey!!! Thanks Stacy:help:

Thanks, Apralfool for the encourgement i will keep all this in mind. What size band do you have? and how many ccs did you get your first fill and your second fill? After your second fill did you loss alot more weight? I know alot of ?s. Thanks Stacy

I think it just means they have alot more room to play than with the smaller band. Becouse people are so diffrent were it may take the whole 10cc to fill me it my only take 6ccs to fill you. My dr. said there was just more room for the future. and i was really scared about my first fill to. But after i had it i felt like a big baby. Who would of tought that a big old needle in the stomach would not hurt. I was scared to death!! stacy

Hi Susan,my name is stacy and i was banded April 30th 2007 . I just had my first fill on June 6th. My Dr. also does his fills through feel. I was really really scared. The nurse that came in before the Dr. said not to worry he could freeze the skin and give me a nombing shot so i relaxed. Then the Dr. came in and said he was not going to nomb me if that was OK. Because one shot was better than two. I said Ok thinken he was kinding. But he really did just put in the fill. The good news is that i never felt a thing. I feel so much like a chicken now. As far as how they know if your band in ok i do not know the answer to that. If you find out please let me know. Stacy

I was told not to lift anything over 10lbs for the first two weeks. But after that to lift as long as it did not hurt. Stacy

I was told before surgery that the slippage rate had gone down do to the new sutures they where useing. I guess this is the same thing you are talking about. Anyway i know they did it to me. Stacy
