I also have the vg 10cc band . I was just banded April 30th 2007. And i just got my first fill two days ago. They added 3cc and i have alot of restriction. I might would talk to my DR. again. I really do not know what the problem could be. sorry wish i could help. Stacy

I was banded April 30th 2007 and i have had a great experience. I have lost 30lbs and feel great . It is amazeing how much better i feel in my on skin. I guess it is just knowing that this time the hard work will pay off. ( the weight is gone for good) I just read a book by Khaliah Ali Mahammed Alis daughter called Fighting weight and the book says it all .This amazing women was banded in 2004 and has lost 150lbs. I was banded April 30th and things went just like you are saying. The weight loss just stopped. I think it has to do with going from liguids to mushies. But when my body got use to it the weight started falling of again. It's been almost 8 weeks ( that includes my 14 day liquid diet for pre-op lost 10lbs then) and i have lost a total of 30lbs. But it is just like everyone else has said that first six or eight weeks is for healing and anything else is a bonus. And you may need to talk to your dr. about the gym. I think it is ok to walk or maybe even run but i don't think you are suppose to be lifting. I guess i just think of the gym as weight lifting. Oh and i think i read somewhere your colon can hold up 5 to 10 pounds gross i know but true. and there is a new book out by Khaliah Ali Mahammed Alis daughter called Fighting weight and she was banded in 2004 and lost 150lbs. So far so good. I really do feel alot of restriction i sure hope it is normal. I have not had any pbing but there is like a little knot in my throut. Everything goes down ok though. I was banded April 30th 2007 and i have lost 30lbs so far and i could bet money i will lose alot more with this thight fill LOL. Oh and i just got the new Khaliah Ali book Fighting weight in the mail yesterday from amozon.com. And this girl is simply amazing .she was banded in 2004 and has lost like 150lbs. It' a great read. I'm down to the last 20 pages and i'm not a reader. It really lets you know how this band works. And i am more motivated than ever. Stacy

<p> </p> <p>I had no problems laying on my side. And i was never told not to. I guess let your your body tell you. if it hurt don't but if not go ahead. And as far as feeling anything move i guess i didn't but it did not take long for me to find my port. When you find it it really feels kinda strang like a really large egg. After you start your muchies and solids you will feel alot better but until then i would try the sugerfree pops like eddie said. And maybe try to get in a little more Protein. Stacy

Thats a really good ? I just had my first fill yesterday and I was told i had a vanguard 10 And i recieved a 3cc fill. I'm really confussed to. If you find out let me know. I think the vanguard 10 holds up to 10cc. really not sure. Stacy

Hi, Adele my name is Stacy and i have only been banded since 4/30/07. And as far as my depression it has already gotten alot better for me. I have as of today lot 30 lbs that don't seem like much to some people but it has given me the motivation to want to do this once and for all. I am alot happier just being in my on skin. The band has been the best thing i have ever done for myself. It really seems like when we become over weight we just forget about our on needs. And fat doe's not change who we are. I don't think the world forgets that as much as we do. We really just need to love ourselfs and i think the rest will take care of it's self. I had my first fill today and i was really scared but it was not bad at all i really did not feel a thing. But i have not had any problems so far!!! And i think you are a really strong person to have been on liquid for so long. I only had to do the liquid thing for 14 days and i thought that was bad. YOU GO GIRL YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!And write me anytime you just want to talk they also have some were on here where you can send a private massage. Stacy

I was told by my DR. not to drink for the first twelve weeks. And after that i can have anything but beer. and of coure watch out for those calories. Stacy

I'm really sorry i am just joining back in. I guess i am really a computer dummy becouse i have just found were i had posted. But of course there are a lot of post on this site. I guess i just got lost. I really do thank you all for your warm welcomes. Oh and i am finally four weeks post -op banded April30th 2007. And i have done great so far. I have to go for my first fill June 6th and i am really scared. I have not been sick so far and i really hope this fill do's not change that. Plus i am really chicken of shots. I have lost 25lbs so far of course that includes my wonderful pre-op diet so thats a total of six weeks. I'm really getting upset this week becouse i have just stopped lossing. Maybe after my fill things will start back up.How much should have i of lost by now? Thnks Stacy

I was banded April 30th and i guess it took about two full weeks for my port pain to go away. I am at three weeks post-op and i have been swimming and about everything else. Congrats on your surgery and hope you feel better real soon. Stacy

Hi guys and gals, I just got banded April 30th and for the last three days I have started haveing these kinda sore pulling pains in my tummy and my back. There not sharp pains just kinda dull. I'm pretty sure i have found my port or maybe it's a mucule? It seems to be much harder than the rest of my tummy. I figured the Tummy part was normal but, the back worrys me. I don't know if it's from how i have been carrying myself diffrent or what? Hopefully it is part of the heeling process. Has anyone else had this problem????? Thanks Stacy:help:

Hi, My name is Stacy and i am from Cartersville Ga. I was banded April 30th by Dr. Lin at crawford long hospital. I have had a great journy so far. I have lost about 22lbs that includes the two week pre-op diet. I have not lost anymore weight since i started the soft part of my diet. I hope it is just my body getting use to the changes. I go back and see DR. Lin June 6th and hope to get my first fill. My BMI was 36.7 and now it is around 34.I weighed 243 and now i'm at 221.I am starting to fill alot better. I can't wait until this time next year. I did this for my husband and my four year old little girl. I just got so sick of just watching them life i wanted to be able to live with them if that makes much since. I really fill this was the best thing for me. Thnks, Stacy:clap2:

Hang in there it can take several months for your thyroid to get back to normal. Your thyroid not only makes you gain weight but also makes you lose hair and become very grouchy. Or i sure know it did me. Stacy

Hi everyone i finally got my band on April 30th. I got to come home May 1st with a 102 fever:sick . The Doc said it was from me being put to sleep. That my lungs just needed a little exercise. And just as he said I started walking and useing a breathing treatment and i have not had a fever higher than 99.2 since. Dr. Lin from Atlanta Ga was the greatest. Did anyone else has this problem with the fever or did any of you have diarrea after your surgery. Thank Stacy:p

Hi Katie nice to meet you. I really did like Dr. Lin. Did you also have yours done at crawford long hospital? I live in Cartersville Ga. Were do you live? I hope somewhere near by so we can be band buddies LOL. I'm 32 Wife and mother of one. My little girl is wonderful she is four going on sixteen or so she thinks HA HA. My little girl and my husband are the whole reason i did this. Because i want to live life with them not just sit back and watch them. I'm 5'8" starting weight 243lbs and now as of this morning i was 227lbs my BMI was 36.8. And i really needed to do this why i was young enough to loss some of the ricks of surgery. I have not had my band long but i already know i made the right choice for me!!!please keep in touch need all the support i can get. Stacy

Hi soon2bbanded I am very sore but so far no nauesea. But i am really starting to get these kind of sicking back pains in the middle of my back. They have not got bad enough to call my Dr. If you exsperince anything else please let me know and we can help each other through this. Thanks Stacy

Hi everyone it's Stacy again. I did not chicken out i got my band April 30th. I had to stay in the hospital overnight. I got to come home yesterday thank goodness. I thought they were going to keep my for another night because i got a fever of 102.8.:sick But they let my go home as long as I came back if it got over 103 (Anything over 103 is a sign of infection).But last night it went back up to 102.4.:sick I Got really scared but it went back down and has stayed around 99 to 100. The Dr. said the fever was caused by my lungs from being put to sleep.Your lungs calapes during surgery. So i had to start these breathing treatments and walking alot(which is very hard because i am so sore). But after everything that has happened even the soreness this is the best thing i could of ever done for me. Oh and i just wanted to know did any of you get diarrea from your stool softner. And did any of you guys get fever after surgery.:clap2: Thank a bunch Stacy:p

Hi everyone, It's me Stacy again.I'm down to 7 days left before the big day. For some reason i am really getting scared about the whole mortality rick issue. I have done all the research and my Dr. seems very comfortable about it but, my little girl just keeps poping in my head. My husbsnd keeps reminding me that i am only 31, do not any health problems (YET) Do not seem to have problems with anestecia and that my BMI is not major (36.9). Seems really high to me!!!! I know in the long run this is my best option. I really do not have a choice. I guess i'm just a over pertective mother. I just Don't want her to have to grow up without a mom. But thats the whole reason for the band. Please if anyone would share there experince with any of these issue it would be greatly apreciated. Hi, My name is Stacy. I am not yet Banded but will be 4/30/07 with Dr. Edward Lin From Atlanta Ga.. I have already started my 14 day pre-op diet. and it is going OK i guess. No I am only at the end of day 3 and a little hungry:think. I am very excited and also very scared. I think i am scared most about the pain after surgery. I just don't know what to exspect.
