Hahaha oh lord I sympathize. I actually have a deal with my husband where until I can eat solid foods, he gets dinner on his way home from work. I love him so much for doing that. He usually has one of my Protein shakes for Breakfast, and then lunch and dinner while he's out. It's wonderful.

To me a thong is just something to wear when you're wearing a tight skirt or tight pants, where you don't want any panty lines to show. I never got around to wearing them for fun because I never found them comfortable. The only rule I'd say is...never with a short skirt or low cut jeans.

Thank you <3

No, the milestone isn't the 10 kg mark...it's the fact that my scale only measures up to 120 kg and I'm finally light enough to be able to track my weight loss at home! It's not even a noticeable weight loss in terms of my appearance or clothes but it's making me feel great that I've lost enough to use a normal scale Oh and that's 22 lb for the Americans out there

Pain in shoulder and little lump at incision
bunny replied to bunny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hehe I didn't mean to press it, I was smoothing the closure tape over the incision and I felt a hard bump...I just pushed it a bit to see if it would ooze anything but it seemed solid. Doctor said it's probably a hematoma blood formation thing. I walked to the pharmacy to get a heating pad and more gauze and when I got back my stomach wounds were sore but my shoulder was fine Give and take eh? -
Pain in shoulder and little lump at incision
bunny posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know that the pain in the shoulder is gas pain but it's so bad I can't sleep...I was out walking yesterday and the day before but I'm barely getting any sleep at night because the pain wakes me up...and its 8:30 AM now and I'm just about to go to bed after waking up 3 times at night just from moving. The sleep deprivation is really getting to me. And I was changing my gauze and I found this little hard lump on the inside of the incision near my navel, and the incision there is still open (everything else has started to stitch itself together) is that normal? Is it scar tissue? It's not swollen, but it does hurt if I press on it and if I press on it a little bit of blood comes out of the incision. I don't feel sick just tired and in so much pain. I'm going to call my doctor after I take a nap but has anyone else had anything like this? Should I be worried? -

How big of a screw-up did I make?
bunny replied to wendy1974's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I cheated on my diet too...2 days before surgery I had some butter chicken (drained about 95% of the sauce so it was mostly just like 8 pieces of chicken in a bit of sauce) and a small skim Cappuccino and a mini cheesecake cupcake. My surgery went fine according to my doctor and he didn't seem to notice. Yes we are supposed to change our eating habits, but we're supposed to change them to *healthy* eating habits, not permanent fasting. That sort of extreme dieting/fasting isn't going to be a permanent lifestyle choice, you're going to be eating healthier food in small portions, not shakes and liquids forever. To me the point of this surgery is to eat like a normal person, and soup, veggies and tortellini sounds totally reasonable, even the small piece of cake is something 99.9% of normal thin people eat. We didn't get fat eating a small piece of cake, we got fat eating too much cake. If you are worried about complications definitely talk to your doctor but don't beat yourself up about it...I don't think one meal is going to make your liver balloon up to fatty again. That being said - don't do it again One slip up is reversible, but don't shrug off the pre op diet in general. -
That really sounds like a minor infection...one of those things your body can probably cope with but it's best to get checked out since your immune system is already weak from lack of food/nutrients.

Mushy stage and struggling
bunny replied to former_vbg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey...My Dr's plan says 2 weeks before creamy/puree food like applesauce, and 4 weeks until soft solid food like cheese and scrambled eggs. I'm not sure where mushy would fall into that but 8 days for me is still smack in the middle of liquids only. So my advice is take it slow Stick to liquids until it's more comfortable. -
Thanks You're right, it will be liquids for the next week and a half until I'm ready. I'm really surprised though, I was in agony when I woke up from the anesthesia, and the first 3-4 days were terrible, and now it just seems like a huge cloud has passed. To everyone going through the rough first few days...it gets better

I will say that I do need to take painkillers, and I have a terrible pain in my shoulder from trapped gas, but aside from reflux the only thing bothering me is the pain of the wounds. I can take normal sized sips now (though Water still feels heavy) and I can drink Soup broth with absolutely no problems. I don't have any internal pain other than the shoulder pain, everything is just from the incisions and even that I'm able to manage fairly well with painkillers. The only real pain is when I go from sitting to standing, and that's only in the one incision by my navel. I'm having to talk myself into sticking to broth because I feel like I can eat normal food...I had some tomato soup, the kind with little tiny bits of tomato and cheese, and it was fine. I only had like 1/5 the bowl because I have no appetite, but it was nice to have something with flavor. Is that pushing things too fast...can the little bits cause any complications? There were little seeds, I'm slightly worried about those getting caught but I didn't think about it until after I had eaten some. Am I overestimating my healing capability here or did anyone else feel like their stomach was relatively normal this soon? Oh and I just want to add, I'm in my mid/late 20's, and am one of those people that rarely gets sick, so is it possible my system is just pretty resilient?

Dr Taylor did my surgery and he and his team were great The surgery was $9000 for me because I paid out of pocket, with private health insurance it's only $4950. That cost includes nutritionist visits, psych visits, the hospital stay...everything. And since I was self pay I didn't have to jump through any hoops, I made my appointment the day of my initial consultation, there was about a 3 month wait until the surgery date but that's to be expected. Very professional doctor with a wonderful team working with him.

Yeah, I didn't have a BM until I started drinking Protein drinks and Soup...plain Water wasn't enough but anything with calories in it worked. How long have you been off IV/drinking fluids? And are you on any narcotic painkillers like oxy or vicodin? I'd take a Fiber suppliment if I were you...metamucil or benefiber mixed into one of your Protein Drinks should help
