Have them try Compazine. They'll tell you it's an "old-fashioned" drug, used for seasickness, etc etc Just insist they give it to her. She should get better. My hubby and beat friend both wenr through the non-stop nausea and the ER doc gave my hubby Compazine at the suggestion of my friend's husband. Worked in one day for both of them. Good Luck!

BM that looks like used "Coffee Grinds"
ticachica54 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm only 3 days post op and have had about three or four BMs that look like black coffee grinds. I was told this is a sign of internal bleeding in the past. Can anyone put my mind at ease how long this should last and is it normal? -

What did you eat (sic) for 3 weeks of liquid diet post-op? :blink:I am surviving on pudding with protein powder, cream of chicken soup, popiscles and non-fat yogurt smoothies. Had mashed potatoes today, felt like a real treat! -

Talked to my doctor last night. Thanks to all for your prompting, it was a good call. He didn't seem all that worried and as long as I'm not having heart palpitations, vomiting or seeing red in my output, it's ok. -
Nickel allergy and surgical staples
ticachica54 replied to mythreechildren2001's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just had my surgery 3 days ago. Talked to the doctor about my nickel allergy and he said that allergies are stimulated by receptors in the mucosa and skin. Not in the stomach lining although I don't really buy that 100%. But so far, no problems. You have to have faith in somebody some time. -
I am 72 hours from surgery. Still wondering if I'm doing the right thing. How do you swallow your meds? What happens when you go out to "dinner"? I'm pretty scared too but I know it's a good decision for me.
