My surgeon recommends not drinking it but he said it will not harm you, it may slow weight loss. I have had sips of diet coke a few times and its definately a treat!

Wondering if something is "wrong"
FishingNurse replied to Shalon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do get hungry, but the big difference is when you start eating mushies and solids you get full and satified on so little its laughable. -
You will be just fine. I got through it alone. I was engaged until early 2011 and we split. I decided to get the surgery shortly after. Your life is about to change for the better, and you will have to focus on yourself and your weight loss instead of the pain of your heartbreak. Plus, you are preparing for a new life, and possibly new love too, and just think how much more pleasant it is going to be with a new body you are proud of! Do this for your self!!

August 2011 sleevers get in here!!!!!!
FishingNurse replied to blackmikeg's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi, I was sleeved on the 9th of Aug! I am down a total of 32lbs since surgery, 47 overall since the pre-op diet. I am VERY lucky and I can tolerate ANYTHING in small quantities, if I chew it well. I have expirenced "sliming" on 3 occasions-- when i ate something and forgot I was sleeved and didnt chew well enough-- It was beef jerky and turkey pepperoni and beef roast. Any tough meat I forget to chew well is a problem. 99% of the time I remember and chew well. I am happy because a typical meal is a string cheese, a yogurt, 8 slices of turkey pepperoni, etc. I have saved a lot of money on food. Everyone keeps telling me how "skinny" I am, and it quite frankly makes me feel a little uncomfortable. I suppose I better get used to it!!!! -

FishingNurse replied to NewlifC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had it too, I loved it but after 3 years I lost all sex drive, but bf couldn't handle it. I had it removed and in one month I dropped 13lbs and was the horniest girl alive! -
Hi all! I am excited to say I have a date tonight! (a blind date) I have been emailing him for weeks, we have clicked personality wise. I was engaged until early this year, (my ex was against me getting weight loss surgery, so after we split I went for it) Anyways, I am wanting to know if I should tell my date tonight about my surgery or if I should wait and see if we even make it to another date. Something tells me we will due to our constant communication for the past few weeks.... any advise would be great!!!

What's your favorite under 100 calorie snack?
FishingNurse replied to shrinkingviolet's topic in Food and Nutrition
laughing cow cheese~ 70 cals. :-) and 6 grams of protein. -
Ok 7 days and the scale hasn't moved at all. It is so frustrating! I'm maybe eating 500 cals a day when I'm really trying, and if I slack I maybe get 300! Preop I ate 3000+ a day! How can I not be losing weight! So the question is when do I make my roommate return my scale????

FishingNurse posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there! I am feeling very worried!!! I lost at least a pound per day for the first 25 days and now for the last 4 to 5 I have not seen any movement on the scale!! I am about 1 month out. How long did your fist stall last?? Just nervous. I want to hear about people's stalls and when the scale started moving again! thanks! -

Wine at 1 month out?
FishingNurse replied to emmas mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon says no to alcohol because you might not make your weight loss goals. He is good friends with the doctor I work for so he is straight up with me. I had a half a beer at my dads 60th Suprise Bday Party on Saturday. I felt fine. I will wait to drink my 2nd half a beer until New Years :-) -
My surgeon laughed when I asked him if carbonation streched the sleeve. He said NO WAY. But he reccomends to avoid it for the first 3 months for healing. And then limit it as much as possible.
