I'm feeling more restriction 3 months out??
FishingNurse posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did anyone else have something like this happen? I was eating quite a bit the last few weeks. LIke a whole slice of toast or a half an english muffin and a poached egg for a meal-- feeling great. But since saturday I feel more like I did a month out! I have gotten the slimes 2 times in the past few days and I hadnt for a least a month! Seems right as I changed my name to "sleeve of steel" it happend! Has anybody felt fluctuations in sleeve restrictions like this???? Any iput would be great. -

FishingNurse replied to ATeam's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yes it will grow back It may be premature but I am 3 months out and have not lost any hair. I am up to eating 1000-1200 cals a day with lots of protien so I am feeling like It may not even happen. (knock on wood) -

Can Splenda cause you to stall or gain ??
FishingNurse replied to juzmejnee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think its worth a shot girl! sugar free crap makes my body unhappy! I avoid it. -
1. Has it been beneficial to you and why? Yes it was the only other time I managed to lose 40lbs! My trainer emailed me and text me when he didin't see me at the gym. 2. Do you HAVE to be a member of a gym or is there a way around that? yes you do have to be a member :-( 3. How much is average cost? My monthly membership at lifetime is 74 a month and the personal training is a whopping 75 dollars per session. if you can get a friend or family member to do it with you, you can save money that way! 4. Should I try to find someone familiar with training after bariatric surgery or will anyone due? I think unless your BMI was very high to begin with you should be fine with anyone, as long as they know your caloric intake. I wouldn't probably start with a personal trainer until at least 2 or 3 months out, because they kick your butt! I am signing up for a bootcamp type group personal training soon. :-) good luck!!

Food gets stuck in Esophogus? Why?
FishingNurse replied to Fusilli66's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How much are you eating at once? I would feel the exact same thing until about 1 1/2 out if I ate just a little too much. I think it’s because of the swelling. When they sew up your new stomach my surgeon says he double sews near the esophagus at the top of the stomach and that can cause a lot of swelling. And you can stay swollen for quite some time. I have not felt that way in at least a month luckily, so it does go away! -

I would love to share what I have been doing. I am a little bit of a rebel. I think it is because I am a nurse! But I DO eat my 60grams of protein per day. I do drink lots of fluids. I don't count carbs. I eat things like half an English muffin and a poached egg for a meal. I do drink diet coke and sparkling Water and a weekly beer. I eat about 1000-1200 cals a day. LIke my name says I can tolerate anything and possibly more food than some- but still have a lot of restriction! I do not want to lose weight super fast or lose muscle mass or lose my hair. I have not lost any hair yet as you can see in my pics I have a ton. (knock on wood) I eat lots of fish, cheese, imitation crab, turkey, tuna, and chicken. An occasional taco or slice of pizza. (about 3/4 of a slice or 3/4 of a taco) I do take 2 chewy Multivitamins a day, 2 chewy Calcium a day, a weekly B12, a Vitamin d, and Biotin (just in case) everyday! I do work out. 4 days a week at least. I do 30 mins on the track. I walk 2 mins then jog 2 mins and alternate. When I walk I use 5 pound weights to work out my arms. Any other specific questions let me know! :-) I am excited for you! -

I did not tell them, do you think I should?? I am going for myself and my male roommate that wants to lose weight and does not want go alone. I find I can eat my points pretty easily. a slice of higher protein toast with peanut butter (i eat for breakfast) is 9 points! so I can get to the 30 point mark easily. My roommate gets 60 points lol.... I have found tracking online this week I have been making healither choices and staying focused more :-) -

Does anyone regret getting sleeved?
FishingNurse replied to Stacey Nicole's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not even 3 months out and I can say NO WAY. I also had a lot of people discourage me, saying "you're not that big, you can do it on your on etc." well actually, I couldn't. I am very happy with my sleeve of steel!
