  1. I am 3.5 months out and I have zero issues! Happy as a clam. (I of course felt like a bus hit me the first 3 days after due to the trauma of surgery) but thats it!!!! Best thing I have ever done for myself

    Duh! Moment

I have done the same in the past! For sure. But this time is different. People have seen my weight go up and down all the time. They knew I would fail. I still think even with my sleeve people think I am going to fail. But its not an option this time. We can do this! Thanks for the post!!

    I'm Bulimic And Getting Vsg

You are very brave to post, I hope you work with a pyschologist through your journey! Good luck.
  4. Carbonation is controversial but my surgeon says it absolutely does not stretch the sleeve.
  5. to be perfectly honest, I drink a small amount with meals. I am kind of a rebel. I also drink 2 or 3 sparkling waters per day. I don't reccomend this but I am just being honest. I have had zero troubles and I am having amazing weight loss.
  6. Congrats!!! So excited for you. Be prepared for 3 days of feeling like hell, and then everyday gets better. I havn't been so happy and healthy EVER :-) yay for you!

    Gastric Sleeve Swelling

I was very swollen too. My leak test showed the contrast just sitting in my esophagus for a few mins before it would leak down slowly into my stomach. I knew it stayed this way for a least 2 weeks. I didn't feel 100% normal with eating and drinking until at least 4-6 weeks out. But all I can say it has been so worth it! I feel great now and I can gulp water like before!
  8. I have been sharing with close friends that I had finally made it into the 100's and a few of them were shocked! They assumed I weighed more like 160lbs!!! (I'm only 5'4'') Wow, I didn't believe the first one but then 3 more people said the same..... Wow and I thought I looked more like 220ish in my brain. :-) this has made my weekend!!! I would rather weigh more and look good than weigh less and look bad!

    Eating Too Fast?

I agree, once you are eating more solids you will slow down after you get the slimes once or twice! Try to avoid them, they are horrifying.

Eating Out -- What Do You Eat?

I eat whatever looks good, just much less-- as you plan to do. This works for me cause I have a SLEEVE OF STEEL and can eat anything. Some others are not as lucky. Hopefully you will be lucky like me!

    One Month Out Today!

Congrats, you are doing exemely well!!! Just think in a month or 2 you will be seeng the 100's! :-)
  17. I will make goal! And I do not low carb at all. I do eat 80 grams of protein a day though. It is possible. I don't want to low carb because in the past when I started eating carbs again after a long stretch of not eating carbs I will gain it all back. I just have carbs in moderation. (and thats what I want for maintenance)

    I need serious help here...

I'm a nurse and this doesn't sound sleeve related, Sounds like diverticulitis or a GI bug, possibly C. Diff (if you have taken any antibiotics lately) I would go see your primary care doc. ASAP!
  20. Come back to reality!!!!!! 47lbs in 2 months is crazy good!!!!! You are doing everything right. Just keep on doing what you are doing. There are benefits to slower weight loss-- and I would NOT consider you a slow loser. In the past it took me 14 months to lose 36lbs! and you have done this in 60 days. Just imagine where you will be in 6 months!!
  21. I wish this would happen to me :-) I am 3 1/2 months out too! As long as you are getting enough nutrition I think thats ok!!!
  22. This exactly how I felt. Its hard to do early on but since 1.5 months out I have been 1000+ calories. I shoot for 1200-1500 now honestly. I work out a lot. My weight loss has been great. I am lifting weights and jogging 3-5 days per week. I eat no sugar free or fat free anything. I eat 80 grams of protien daily. Trying to keep the engine reved! I did not want to mess my metabolism up either! I have not lost any hair, my skin is not saggy, and I feel amazing. I drink a lot of fluids. I am 40ish pounds from goal and I am 3.5 months out from surgery! I have gone from size 22-24 to a most recent size 15 in juniors. I think you have the right idea!

    technical problems w/this site?

I notice this too and I was thinking about making a post too!
  24. Hallucinations???? Oh no! Was that from pain medication?
  25. I am 14 weeks out and this is my typical day: Breakfast: 1/2 english muffin with Peanut Butter and 1/2 banana sliced on top snack: baby bell cheese lunch: 3/4 of a healthy choice type frozen meal-- one with at least 10 grams of protien or more. I try to eat the meat out and leave the noodles or rice. snack: handful of nuts or a can of tuna plain Dinner: chicken breast, or meatloaf, or pot roast, or whatever meat my roommates and I are in the mood for. and a few bites of veggies. On the days when I work out I also drink a protien shake made with ice, protien powder, peanut butter, banana, and thats an extra 50 grams of protien, Feeling great!!! Calories range from 1000-1300 usually.
