Am I Sliming?
FishingNurse replied to windycitymom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In my expirence it is your body's way of trying to lubricate the food out of your stomach, sometimes I sneeze or get a runny nose as well. I feel like this happens when you eat too much, too fast, or a texture doesn't agree with your sleeve, or don't chew well enough. This happended to me about 6 times total. It was awful! -
thanks for sharing!! That is a great story.... congrats
-
You will never want your stomach back, trust me! I can enjoy a slice of pizza-- just 1 feel completely satisfied, and be done. NOT 8 slices. And I maintain my weight and look good!!!!

Difference Between Mirror And Camera
FishingNurse replied to LadyIvy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had/ have a similar problem. When I was 260lbs I saw myself as more like a 210lbs pound person in my head...... I never really admitted how large I was to myself. Similarly now-- I am at 169 and I still see myself as a 210lbs person.... I can't figure out how to fix this! -
I regret not doing it when I was 22!! And actually the sleeve wasn't around back then-- so none whatsoever. I have never been happier. I love my sleeve

Excess Skin
FishingNurse replied to Look@meitsEmily's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am lucky and I am at goal and have no lose skin. Down 90+ pounds. I would say I am on the younger end of the spectrum and I am still considered slightly chubby or thick-- and that helps. I am happy with how I look, and I am healthy so that is the most important part. -
I Didn't Think This Was Possible......
FishingNurse posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I have offically made into the 160's- and made my goal! I am at nearly 9 months post op.... I litterally thought I was done losing weight. I had a stall for about 1 month and I just suddenly dropped 5lbs!!! A true miracle!!! -
This Is Why The Scale Lies...

You're gorgeous! -
I am 5'4'' and have lost 90+ pounds and I have zero lose skin. My abdomen has a couple wrinkles, and actually I think they have gone away for the most part in the last month or 2. I am still thick (170 or less was my goal.) I chose to stay thick so I dont have lose skin and so my weight loss is more easily maintained.

I think the rogaine would work fine, but once you stop using it the hair may fall out again... I would reccommend letting your body do it's thing... I lost hair from 4 months to 7 months post op (quite a bit), now I am back to normal like nothing ever happened!

I have had a large iced 2% vanilla latte everyday since 1 month out and I have surpassed my goal.
-
to be honest I didn't feel myself again until 2 months out. But when I did It was amazing, and now I feel great everyday!! Well worth the "torture" to get to this place.

I am almost 29 and I have litterally no lose skin and have lost quite a bit of weight. I was afraid of this also and have been very fortunate. I am also still "thick" and don't care to lose anymore weight.

I agree, you did not gain fat, but you might just be more hydrated now that you are getting further out. Don't worry, you will lose it plus a lot more!

My Hair Falling Out; Weight Loss And Drawing Unwanted Attention To Self
FishingNurse replied to paperbacknovel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know what you mean related to the unwanted attention. People always telling you how skinny you are can actually be really odd. I thought I would like the compliments but I dont really enjoy all the attention at all. I have gotten used to it now. I just smile and say thank you and continue on..... -
I Need Help Or Advice Or Something..please
FishingNurse replied to SicChl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i never drank protien shakes, can't stand them!! My diet consists of lot of cheese sticks, steak burrito bowls with black beans, tuna, and whatever else sounds good actually. I really try to eat high protien but I definately have never done low carb..... I would guess my calories are 1200-1800 per day and have been since 2.5 months out. -

3-4 months out I hit a stall for about a month too! I didn't lose anything for 3-4 weeks.... but went on to lose and made goal. Its normal!!! Relax and keep to your program and you will lose more. -
When Can You Typically Have Cereal?
FishingNurse replied to AngieG0410's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not a perfect sleever but I made my goal in less than 9 months... I eat cereal almost everyday. (Cheerios, fruity pebbles etc.) lol..... I started at 6 weeks..... with the milk it is plenty soft and mushy. -
So Is This The 3Rd Week Stall?
FishingNurse replied to BABEwiththePOWER's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yes, you're crazy :-) You can't keep up a pound per day for long!!! Be prapred for no weight loss for weeks at a time... it happens to almost everyone. But the weight will come off, don't get discouraged.... this is normal! -
Is This Working ?
FishingNurse replied to marlenin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
thats almost a pound per day--- thats crazy amazing! -
My advice is not to order too much stuff! Your tastes after surgery are different-- and nothing sounds good. I bought all sorts of shakes and foods that I thought I would love but couldn't stomach them post-op.
