FishingNurse replied to FishingNurse's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everyone.... I wanted to add-- I have chosen a "higher" goal weight. Easier to maintain, no loose or flappy skin, I am in a size 12 and medium/ large tops. I am healthy, active, normal! -

Sleeve In The Long Run....
FishingNurse replied to PeaceLove&Tash's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my mom basically had this procedure 20+ years ago due to having stomach cancer. She had about 75% of her stomach removed. She was 180lbs before her cancer, and she has been 110 since. She is normal and cancer free! That is proof to me this is the way to go !! -

FishingNurse replied to vickyt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't do artificial sweeteners either! So I did 100% juice watered down a tad. I know exactly how you feel -

I'm Being A Hypocrite, Aren't I?
FishingNurse replied to minaleigh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I met a man on match.com 4 years ago (pre-op) and at first I wasn't attracted to him one bit physically, His personality was fantastic. So he charmed me into a date, and then another, and then another, And I fell so hard for him! We even were engaged. (I was 250lbs at the time) Since we have broken up because he didn't want kids and I do, (and I am with my dream man now who does want kids !! :-) ) My point is give him a chance!!! You might fall in love and be very happy! -
I wanted to share that I went out to lunch with co-workers to Noodles and Co. I ordered a side of tofu with teriyaki sauce on it. It was like 3 dollars and it tatsted so good!! I have enough left over for 2 more meals. Its a great soft texture and its high in protein!! All you people in the mushy food stage should try this! yum!

Most Humiliating Fat Moment
FishingNurse replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a nurse, I work full time at a clinic and I have worked part time at a nursing home since I was 17, Older people have no sensors and/or they think you can't hear them comment as you walk away-- obviously other patients and staff hear these comments as well. here is a list of comments I have heard when I have been walking away from an elderly person. Sometimes I just giggle seriously. I have tough skin luckily, These are not people I love saying things to me-- that would be a different story. "look at the size of her rear!" "she's about as wide as she is tall!" "her arms are twice the size of your leg!" "these young girls let themselves get so fat!" "tell the fat blonde nurse I need my medication!" lol -
look at my pics- and my face! I look healthy. When I tell people I used to weigh 262 they do not believe me! I think if you are getting all your protein and vitamins in you will look healthier because you absorb all your nutrition you eat unlike the bypass. I don't even have any hanging or saggy skin! :-)
