My Body Is A Jello Jiggler
FishingNurse replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I giggled when I read the title! lol I felt like a jiggler as well for a while. My skin bounced back nicely after the rapid weight loss phase. I no longer jiggle like a Jello jiggler. I am no Jessica Alba, but I look pretty normal. This started happening 8-9 months out. I am almost a year out..... -
I Hate The Way Everything Tastes...even Water. Help, Please
FishingNurse replied to faith2911's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It will get better every week! I couldn't do artificial sweetners either. I watered down juice- 1/4 water, 3/4 juice. Just until my taste buds came back! -
"all Things In Moderation"?
FishingNurse replied to JenniJune's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can only speak for myself but I made goal with this philosophy. I do focus on protien and veggies but if I want a treat or want what my bf is eating I have a little. -
Determining Goal Weight?
FishingNurse replied to ThisTimeIsIt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can do whatever you set your heart on. I'm only 5'4" and chose 170 for goal. Why??? 1.) zero loose skin 2.) realistic to achieve 3.) easy to maintain 4.) still considered overweight but I could care less-- 5.) no longer obese 6.) kept my curves 7.) I'm in a size 10-12 and medium or large tops and I look and feel cute!! Sure I could lose more but would risk regain and get saggy skin and would have more body issues than before... Just my 1 cents -

I agree, I know everyone does things differently but I was eating 1200-1500 cals a day and made goal at 8 months out..... eating 1800-2000 now to maintain for the last 3.5 months...

I have zero loose skin. I chose a slightly higher goal weight for that reason. I am in a size 10-12 or a med- large top. I am hovering right around 170. But I look good and curvy and feel great, no hanging or lose skin. This weight is easy to maintain. I am 29 years old this week! I have lost almost 100 pounds.

Hi all! I am just curious for when I have the 3-4 weeks of pureed foods. Does anyone buy baby food and eat that instead of preparing it in a blender? The book I have from the sugery center doesnt mention that at all. Any thoughts?

Is Something Wrong?
FishingNurse replied to BroderDaniel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you seem to be one of the lucky ones that didn't have a lot of post op swelling! you'll notice restriction when you get to solids I wouldn't worry a bit -
What I have noticed is that I am the same shape as I was before just a mini version of it. I have kept my thunder thighs and big butt, lol

Determining Ideal Weight...
FishingNurse replied to Parker's Dad's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
another good part about not getting too thin off the bat is that maintaining 160's is much more pleasant and easy than maintaining 120's! the chance to regain weight is so much higher if you get very thin. My goal is to just maintain, no more yo-yo-ing for me -
Determining Ideal Weight...
FishingNurse replied to Parker's Dad's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think with the sleeve unless you have a lot of complications is it easy to find a weight you like and stick to it. I did not want to get too thin either, and according to BMI charts I am still overweight. but I DON'T CARE. I like being a size 12, medium tops- I am normal, curvy, thick and healthy. -

FishingNurse replied to Billysbelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Made Goal But Now I Want To Lose 10 More Pounds.....
FishingNurse posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have decided to join my fitness pal and take off 10 more pounds. I have been sitting at goal for 3 months or so. I have not tracked what I have eaten post-op and the weight just fell off. I will have to put some effort into these last 10.....I can do this! Any words of wisdom would be appreciated. Anyone else do something similar to this?? I think I will be on the boards more keeping focused. -
I ate a lot of baby bel cheese, cottage cheese, eggs, tuna salad, egg salad, turkey pepperoni-- I spread small amounts out into 6 meals per day.

I am with you here and keep wondering the same thing. I have good days and some bad. I have found new things to be insecure about as well. :-( I try to keep a positive attitude and look at pictures before and after sometimes to keep myself in check.

Awake During Endoscopy?
FishingNurse replied to Fallenangel2904's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was awake for all of mine ( I have had 3-- but I had plenty of versed and fentanyl. that's very odd that you had such a rough time with this. Usually this procedure is a breeze. (I am a nurse) -
I would say I felt good after 2-3 weeks and great at 8 weeks!
