Ok Let The Hair Loss Begin
FishingNurse replied to aviiva's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost some starting at 3.5 months out. It was traumatizing at the time. But I look normal and always did. It's just hard to see so much hair in the drain and brush. It will be ok! You will not go bald and if you lose hair it does grow back! -

Week 5- So Depressing / Disgusting To Eat
FishingNurse replied to Looking Ahead's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is a short term feeling. You will not feel like this forever. Its a sacrifice you make for about 3 months. it will be so worth it! It gets better and you will feel fairly normal again. A new normal! I do recommend talking to a psychologist as well. It helps. Glad you are reaching out. -

I really feel this way. I always saw myself at about 200lbs when I actually was 255lbs....denial?? and now I STILL see 200lbs and I am 170lbs..... very odd!! -
Does anyone take this? Or know anything about it?? I am trying to lose 10 more pounds and I was told this would be very helpful!

Sleeved Over 3 Years Ago
FishingNurse replied to ShannonPA-S's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thank you for posting, it is interesting to hear from veteran sleevers. Congrats on your PA, I am finally an RN after being an LPN for 8 years, next stop NP! You should still be proud about weighing 90 pounds less than your heaviest weight! And that's after pregnancies! -
Hey Ladies... A Few Personal Questions
FishingNurse replied to myownjourney's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 29, and do not have saggy skin, my breasts did go from a DD to a C however. They are not saggy, they still have a little perk to them. Your age is on your side for sure! Like I always tell the newbies.... best decision I have ever made! -
Post-Op Food Question?
FishingNurse replied to Mzluvee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I craved pickles like crazy post op, and starting about 4 weeks out I would kind of chew off the inside of the spears a little. Just the soft inside-- so good kept me sane. I eat pickles all the time now. Low cal and Delicious-- salty yes. -
I Can Suddenly Eat More
FishingNurse replied to Bigdogkc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would guess your swelling is going down. My doc says you are not completely healed until 6-8 weeks out. Sounds like you are doing well! -
have you tried milk of magnesia?
-
I agree 100% I had one- sex drive went to zero! I have the copper iud now- we'll see how it goes!
-
oh and I forgot to mention that I think you will feel great about getting the skin taken care of! I say go for it!
-
Lissa: my goal weight was set a bit higher than some too. I am a fan it for the following reasons: 1.) easier to maintain 2.) LESS loose skin- or none like me ( I know I am lucky) 3.) less chance for regain per my surgeon 4.) keep your curves! :-) and if you like the way you look, and feel good and are healthy then it sounds like you are going to be joining us in maintenance very soon!

Did I Get Super Big Sleeve? How Many Calories
FishingNurse replied to windycitymom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ate 1200-1600 cals per day at that point too. I am maintaining at 1800-2000 a day. I just have to keep my cals there and not keep increasing-- that's the key! Maintaining for 3+ months now. I do stay active but don't "work out" -
