Getting Too Much Protein?
FishingNurse replied to favoredone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
what is the protein count in grams on a typical day? -
for sure, early out I think this is not a bad idea. I couldn't drink Protein Shakes either. I hate the idea of only taking in 200-300 calories a day-- and tanking my metabolism. So I didn't. I eat 1500-2000 daily now in maintenance.!

How Much You've Lost
FishingNurse replied to luckylady131's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My starting weight for my ticker is my highest weight ever aka 262, and my weight on the day of surgery was 245. -
I ate them plain in the mushy phase too! I also eat the baby bell ones. Those are my fave and got me threw the first 3 months of the post-op phase. Still eat one every single day for breakfast. (6 grams of protein) Also I used to spread a little on some turkey lunch meat and roll it up in a pickle. I did that maybe after 6 weeks,

I felt like this pre-op, but trust me this was the best decision I have ever made. Nothing compares to feeling good about your body and being healthy!
-
Once I advanced my diet to normal foods at 6 weeks I could eat anything as well- that's how I got my name! It's so nice to be able to eat a small portion, but also get nourishment and nutrition and not feel sick. We are very lucky! 1 taco (taco bell sized) is a perfect meal for me still 13 months out.

Anyone Not Have An Issue With Hair Loss?
FishingNurse replied to Raven21's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think most people will lose more hair than usual-- but not enough to be noticeable any place but the shower drain and hair brush. I was so nervous about the hair loss-- and it never amounted to much- I looked completely normal.... I do now have about 2 inches of regrowth too.... -
my sliders are chips/ crackers for sure. I have coworkers that leave them in our break room all the time. So annoying! If I want them I only buy the small single serving bag. I can eat one of the little bags no problem... I try to avoid them but once in a while you can have some for a treat,

Anyone Else Freaking About Hair Loss?!
FishingNurse replied to GeauxForIt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was feeling the exact same way. Worrying doesn't help. You will lose hair, but you will most likely not get bald spots. I lost hair- my hair is my thing too, still is. It wasn't fun as it was happening, but it lasts 3-5 months then it stops, you still look normal, nobody will notice but you. it grows back. It will be ok! I am living proof. -
Did/does Anyone Else Feel This Way?
FishingNurse replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pretty much exactly what i thought pre-op, and thought half way through the losing process, but here I am at goal, made goal 8 months out and have been maintaining since. I do think that you should be prepared for plenty of weight loss, but also know not everyone can make it down into the "normal" weight range. I am in the overweight range at goal- and I am still happy as a clam. I am a size 12, wear mediums and larges, and I couldn't be happier. Ask your self if you are ok with that kind of result.... don't get me wrong though... plenty of people can lose all their weight and become a size 2-- including yourself. bottom line: YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT -
I met the love of my life post sleeve (2-3 months post-op, 50 pounds down) Definately made a big difference in my confidence. I could be myself. I think you will find dating is much easier post sleeve-- confidence makes a big difference!

Skin Tiightening Procedures? What Non Surgical Works?
FishingNurse replied to mommy794's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I agree, I can tell in my maintenance phase now (have been for almost 5 months) my skin has improved quite a bit, and keeps getting better, I never had hanging or loose skin really but It looks tighter now, -
Pre-Sleeve Calorie Intake
FishingNurse replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well all I know is that this surgery was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I ate 1200 cals a day post op sleeve during my weight loss phase and now maintain at 1800-2000. Pre op I was eating 3000-4500 a day I think. I'm not sure what it means for your journey, but I think you will be successful. -
not really? but if I start to even gain 2 pounds back its the first thing to go trust me!!
-
I drink 2-3 Seltzer waters a day and at least 2-5 sodas per week. Sometimes diet, sometimes regular. No problems here, maintaining weight loss with ease

FishingNurse replied to kelleeh11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had Mirena preop- gained 30 pounds and had no sex drive currently have the Copper IUD, Paraguard. I love it except the periods are longer- only downfall- no hormones, no weight issues! I vote for IUD, ditch the hormones. -
