NEVER eating a french fry again!
FishingNurse replied to Alicia0022's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ooooh I am slightly jealous. I am sleeve of steel cause I could tolerate anything post-op and still can. Its a blessing and a curse. I eat fast food maybe once a month, but I could totally eat an entire small fry and still want more nowadays! Thats why I go once a month or less. I am 19 months post op by the way. -
are there any sleevers here who have had leaks from cheating on their post op diets?
FishingNurse replied to leeann71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I was researching this surgery back in June 2011 I read a post about a girl that had a surgeon that told them a story. The surgeon did a routine sleeve, all was fine, and he was discharged. This patient apparently ordered a pizza 3rd day post op, and apparently ate enough to rip his staple line, and didn't seek medical care. He was found dead with a half eaten pizza! Scared the crap out of me! -

262 was my high weight. Lost 12 pounds in the pre-op process.... Sleeved at 250. I admit this thanksgiving/ Christmas season I did gain 5 pounds. I was well aware. I ate garbage though-- christmas cookies. Eating my reasonable menu I easily maintain. (eating 1800-2000 cals a day, plently of veggies and protien- but not restricted highly) It is so much easier to regain control of your eating habits post sleeve. I will have these 5 pounds off in a month or so :-) -
Need to get back on track!
FishingNurse replied to Pookeyism's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm a sooooo in your exact place. My low weight was 168 (felt great!!) but I saw 176 on the scale yesterday and almost had a bird.I'm 18 months out. I admit I have not been exercising at all. Holiday food is all slider food. Thank you for posting. I hit the grocery store today and threw out all the holiday treats. Lots of lean protien and veggies for me. and I'm soooo getting those 7-8 pounds off. I have a gym membership and will be utilizing it!! :-) We can do this!! -
Need some encouragment
FishingNurse replied to sillygirlmi's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You're doing amazingly well. I also wish I could run even 10 mins! Your brain will catch up. I know exactly how you feel-- you look at a picture and think, I'm still fat! Ugh. Partly for me it was cause I was in such denial about how big I was pre-op. I feel like idoes get better (I'm 18 months out now) you are not alone! Hang in there ! -
Do I have to be on this DIET forever?
FishingNurse replied to monaie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never did fat free or sugar free anything. I never counted carbs. I did have a very modest weight loss goal. (170) easily maintaining! -
just stumbled upon your blog post and I thought I would share that I drink carbonated water everyday (2-3 bottles) of medota springs or la croix, etc. and eat 100% normal.... I drink about 1 soda-- not diet (coke or dr. pepper) per week. I feel no different than before besides the fact that I eat about half as much as I did preop. Don't worry too much about the first 5-6 months. the hard time in the beginning is so worth the final result.

Any one considering the DS? Or actually had it?
FishingNurse posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just wondering if anyone is considering this. I was originally Happy at my goal weight of 170.I am 17 months post-op. i am happy still i guess, just wondering what it would be like to be 130lbs. i have stayed between 170-175 for the last 9 months now. My BMI is 28-29. I don't know if I'm considering it or not. Just wondering if anyone has anything to say. -

The DS is an optional 2nd phase to lose more weight post sleeve. Google Duodenal Switch..... -

For All you single ladies who are in such a hurry to get married, here's a quick piece of Biblical advice: Ruth patiently waited for her mate Boaz. While waiting on YOUR Boaz, don't settle for ANY of his relatives: Brokeaz, Poaz, Lyinaz, Cheatinaz, Dumbaz, Cheapaz, Lockedupaz Goodfornothinaz, Lazyaz or Marriedaz and especially his third cousin Beatinyoaz. Please, wait on your Boaz & make sure he respects Yoaz !!

I lost 95lbs in 1.5 years and I have zero loose skin. My BMI is about 28 so that might have something to do with it. I'm curvy and healthy. That's preferable to stick thin with loose skin in my eyes!
