Hubby Is Being Rude....your Opinion Please
RRcubed replied to Lisa821's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Ok I feel like women in general make so many excuses for men! Men always get a pass because they are thought to be ignorant of their own emotions. I think what he said was meant to be hurtful. Especially the "well you aren't thin" comment. He is definitely starting to feel insecure. But that doesn't excuse his words, especially if they were hurtful to you. You aren't the problem with his weight and you never were. -
Thanks for all the positive feedback everyone. I have not had any real stalls so far, except for a couple of days at the 3 week mark. I've been averaging a pound a day or 6-7 lbs per week. I have another 80 pounds to lose, which seems like so much still! But I'm sure it will be here in no time.

Ok so I haven't posted much -- but I read this forum all the time. I've been inspired so much, so I wanted to share my success so far. I was sleeved on 9/19/11 and have lost a little over 100lbs so far! I still have a long way to go, but I feel so much better already. This surgery was one of the best decisions of my life. FYI, I have a few more photos that I'm saving for my GOAL post

My Gastric Sleeve Loves... My Gastric Sleeve Hates...
RRcubed replied to dreamy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My sleeve loves steak. My sleeve loves scallops. My sleeve loves tomato Soup. My sleeve loves popsicles! My sleeve loves A1 sauce. My sleeve hates shrimp (can only eat 1 before I'm too full). My sleeve could do without salmon (sadly). My sleeve hates Miralax. My sleeve hates cold chicken (on salads, especially *gag*) -
When Will I Be Able To Drink Normally Again? Tired Of Sipping!
RRcubed replied to gettingtohappy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 3 months out and I'm still sipping all day to get my fluids in. I'm hoping one day things will improve. -
These are all like night terrors! I laugh every time I read a new one. I don't know I'd this is sad or hilarious.

Do u drink pepsi and coke??
RRcubed replied to lily'ssleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are no long term studies on this topic, and certainly no data specific to the sleeve. Each doctor may have their own bias, but all would agree on a lack of reliable data. So in that respect, no one can know the answer to your question at this point. For me, diet coke reminds me of my food addiction issues and I plan to avoid it. And, as noted above, there is research pointing to insulin dysregulation with diet sodas. But I would speculate the same mechanism would apply to crystal light and all other diet artificially sweetened drinks. -
Chap stick. Gas x. Clear Liquid protein drinks of some sort.

This is a great post. Thanks

Why would you say that?
RRcubed replied to StephS3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love that idea with the doctor. There will be some definite education going on. -
Omg that's sooo weird I didn't know other people had them too! Last night I was eating an entire dozen glazed donuts. Then I woke up full, and I was freaking out that maybe i had actually eating something !

Does my surgeon have enough experience?
RRcubed replied to Krissy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My surgeon was in the us and has done almost 250. Anything over 150 should allow enough operations for them to have "perfected" their technique. Each operations is different. Anyone who has done a great number of duodenal switches has also inherently dome a lot of sleeves.
