THanks for your response girls. They do reply in a timely manner just I can tell that ana is confusing sometimes i can tell her english writing must not be that well. Or maybe i'm just excited and i want a bunch of information all at once and she only responds a little bit. I'm getting the info i was looking for in your response... i just wanted to feel more confident about being picked up and making sure my husband had something to do while i'm out of it LOL. Thanks for letting me know also about the cafeteria.. yeah he's not really a vegetarian so we will pack some snacks for him at least for the hospital stay. What kind of medicine were you sent home with? Did they kind of give you an info on your recovery the first month what to avoid what to make sure to do? Thanks for the info i advance!!

I am seeing Dr. Kelly on May 4th and i have questions for you.. did you have a coordinator or did you schedule with dr. kelly himself? I realize some people are left over with coordinators from before they split.... if not then did you work with anaid? I'm finding it sort of hard to communicate with them. I sorta wish i had a coordinator at this point but i was just wondering how your experience was with getting picked up and everything.. my hubby will be going with me and i think he's going to be really bored..did you go by yourself or with a companion?

I'm thinking about bringing a laptop so he'll have something to do...

Yeah i am a computer tech so it's a sit down answer the phone type job.. my part time i'm taking off for two weeks just to make sure.. i'm a part time cosmetologist.. i'm sure people don't want me getting nauseas as i'm washing or cutting their hair LOL

I'm so impatient i want this surgery now LOL Alas i will be going on the May 4th date... i forgot my son has prom the weekend before and i don't think i'll get my passport in time.

I applied to my credit union and not only are they going to give me 6,000 for the procedure they are going to give me 4,000 more to help pay off my credit cards and my payment is only going to be 230.00 i can't beleive it.. i prayed to god last night to please help me through this so i can be a better mom and wife and praise the lord it really happened... Now to nail down a date in april or may.. .anyone going to see Dr. Kelly in those months? That's who i'm going to.. so happy i've only been hoping and researching since last January!!

Yes they have so much better rates... glad i didn't go with that online financing place they were just ridiculous!!!!! So excited just told my mom and she was so happy for me it's nice to get that positive support from your familly!!

Thanks Diva you have always been an inspiration...I've been a lurker on these boards mostly because i felt i had nothing to contribute until i really knew i could actually finance the surgery. I can't wait for my life to change... I spent last night on obesityhelp for over an hour and a half looking through all the before and after photo's and it's so true that every picture i saw the after there was that spark and that smile and confidence that shown through that all of us overweight people have in us. I can't wait to have my before and after... !!!!!!!!! Sharon hope your recover goes well from your surgeries Maybe if it works out we can be sleeve sisters... my hubby will be coming with me although i keep telling him that he really doesn't have to come, he insists, not that i blame him if it were him going to a foreign country i wouldn't ever let him go alone :-) Dr. Kelly from all my research is my number one choice..No. 2 would have been DR. Aceves because of all the rave revues.. but i can't spend that much and feel just as confident with kelly. Now i've really got to get in here and research alot since it's really happening and soon.. yipeee!!!

I applied for a loan with them and got accepted by one of the six loan companies.. but it's outragous.. I can't beleve anyone would ever accept a loan like this.. it was for 4900 payments 243/month for 4 years.. over the life of the loan you'd pay more than double the amount.. that is crazy ridiculous.. They say if i have co-signer i maybe able to get a better deal.. I just wondered if anyone has gone with this company? At that rate i may just go to my local credit union and see about a loan there.

So are you still looking for someone to finance or do you have a plan already?

Hi southerngirl.. i looked into medicalfinance.com and it seemed like their loans were ridiculous but i only did get one approval out of 6 companies they work with.. did you go with them and if so was it a decent loan? I may have to get a co signer. just to borrow 4900 was going to cost me 243.00/month for four years.. which is like more than double the amount ... Just would like to know if it is worth pursing with a co signer... really wish my dad would just help me but he's not being too helpful.

I'm choosing to go to mexico so i need to have financing that will allow that.. thanks though... Hoping to get it soon.. i want to have my sleeve done in may or June.. :-) My insurance doesn't cover any weight loss surgery.. it's such a bummer!!

Who was your coordinator.i was going to be using christi but she just emailed me and said that she no longer works with Dr. Kelly which is who i want to schedule with she said this: I would be more than happy to assist you in your weight loss journey. Unfortunately, I no longer represent Dr. Kelly as a surgeon. I have had numerous complaints from patients of being charged for things they were not supposed to be charged for. In November, I personally coordinated 11 patients for Dr.Kelly, of those 10 of them were charged extra for hotels, additional surgical costs and hotels the night before their surgeries that were supposed to be provided in their surgical packages. I am not saying anything against his surgical ability, but I could not in good conscience send patients to him and have him pull out whatever additional charges he feels like for that day. It was not what I want to represent and he had no intention of changing this practice, there have been other issues as well on the business side Anyone else hear of this? This had been through a lighter me. I need to find a new coordinator i guess because i would only feel comfortable with Dr. Kelly doing my surgery.

Seriously considering surgery in mexico but i need to hear back from more people and hear about your experiences. I have to self pay and 5500 is alot more affordable than 12000. So please tell me what doctors you used how you came across the information, Please and thanks.

I've seen two different websites for the mexico doctors does it matter which one you go with? I've gone with sucessfullyslimmer and am working with christi because she answered my questions right away.....just waiting to have the cash for the surgery.....wish I did right now i would do it asap...so I coups be slimmer for my upcoming cruise in october :-)

I would've totally scheduled my surgery by now.. and now i just wait... you would think a hard workin mom of 4+2 step kido's that has two jobs would be having this issue.. i'm so ready to start my journey.. i hate this waiting crap.. My dad is possibly going to loan me the money but it may not be for awhile... and you know I contemplated selling my grandmothers ring she gave me bless her soul she died last april of cancer. My dad said if i ever feel like i want to sell it he would loan me the money but he's being slow about it... You know it's funny i think my grandma gave it to me just in case i needed money for something.. because it only reminds me of her because i know it was hers.. but she never wore it hardley ever.. is it bad that i even thought about selling it? I keep thinking would she want me to hold on to it just to have it sit in a drawer where nobody see's it because i wouldn't want to ever wear it and lose it... or would she want me to do something with it that would change my life forever??? Making me healthier to live a fuller longer life?? I am a big beleiver in positive thiniking and visuallizing.. big on THE secret book if you have ever read or watched it. good stuff. So what would you guys do??

I feel the same way.. you guys do.. but not with this ring.. i do have a heart necklace with her ashes in it.. and she gave something i cherish more.. the miniature doll set she and i would play with and her mirror i would always ask about...which is why i think she had some other motive of giving me this ring as it is worth quite a bit and i have no connection to it really other than knowing it was hers. This ring was valued at 8,000 about 12 years ago, but when my dad gave it to me.. he actually made my husband promise him he would tell him if i even thought about selling it...that he would loan me the money instead.. he doesn't realize that i already have the things i cherish and remember most about my grandma... He wan'ts me to pass this down to my children... I don't know i'm really torn i don't want to let him down but i know she know's i always wanted to be healthier and not so heavy...I hope to get a resolutions soon.. I'm definetly wanting to get surgery..with dr. Kelly Just the waiting and knowing that I don't have to wait for my insurance company to approve anything... I've waited three years for them to even think about covering weight loss surgery... i'm so tired of this battle... Yes, yellow rose, I totally read your story and it was very insightful.. i loved reading all the updates.. i totally would've been thinking the same thing... i can't imagine riding around naked in my hospital gone around Mexico...lol How's everything going now that you've been home? What are you eating?

Thanks for all your valuable information. I'm definetly doing my research but your input has tremeandously helped my decision. Now i have to find the money to get this done. I'm tired of the battle and ready to really live my life. I beleive i will be looking into going to Tijuana as flights are pretty cheap from san diego. Wish someone in my family had left me some cash would make this alot easier. How about recover time how long till you were able to go back to work? I work two jobs.. and need to be able to come back fairly quick... ??
