Okay i posted this in the success forum too but wanted to put it in the self pay to let any of you know especially self payers that this surgery is totally worth it and it works so well!!! I could never have imagined i would be down so much in so little time. I was scared to go to Mexico when i first started researching it but was amazed with my experience... i loved my doctor and my coordinator can't say enough great things about them!! I just want you to know that this will be the best decision you have ever made for yourself.. life is great on the other side!! and yes i didn't spell check my video.. i spelled my doctor's name wrong lol...If anyone needs any advice on dr. Ponce de leon please ask away!!! I love my sleeve it's been five months since surgery and I can't believe how much I've changed since then. I'm including a video i made for my five months but i looked back on the first videos i made and i cannot believe how much i had let myself go.. it is so apparent.. but never was when i was that size. My highest weight was 277 my Surgery weight was 261 and i am now 199 went from a tight 24 to a size 16.. this is totally amazing to me in five short months.. I thank god and praise him for allowing me to finally have this surgery and to be where i am today. My sleeve has worked amazingly for me.. There's nothing i can't eat... just things i won't eat to sabotage myself.. I've stayed away from bread and Pop totally, but anything else in small amounts My sleeve has never been irritated by any food and I've never thrown up thankfully since surgery. I still keep in contact with my doctor and coordinator and they are thrilled with my results. If you are thinking about this surgery find anyway you can to get it done!!! IT works and it's amazing!!

I highley recommend doing this.. trust me i didn't want to get in front of the camera either.. but wow it is amazing to look back and see what you really looked like.. i still can't beleive i let myself go so bad!! I'm loving this tool and i'm loving seeing all you going to my wonderful doctor. He was such a nice guy and answered any questions i had.. all of his staff were very knowledable and they made me laugh and feel very comfortable.. although i had to ask my hubby how he felt about my cardiogram with the cardiologist Dr. Leal (girls he is funny and a cutie) I didn't realize i'd be topless for that.. but it was all good LOL I just laugh about it now. Dr. Leal is great!! Good luck on all of your journey's can't wait to hear about them and join me on this side it's an amazing journey!!

I went with dr. ponce de leon because to me he had the most experience and he has taught alot of the doctors this procedure so i felt very confident in his ability and knowledge. I loved INT hospital it was on the smaller side but i felt like it was much more personalized the nurses and staff were great and very responsive. I also love having a video of my whole surgery on the inside, great to see how skilled Dr. Ponce really is. I also went with my husband and my coordinator Trish was such a blessing she totally went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and he was well fed. We were out walking around the beach 2 days later and shopping, It felt so great to be out and about. I'm glad you've decided on this surgery it will be the best decision ever!! DDfin thanks so much i feel great and only have 60 more pounds till goal.. you are looking fabulous too!!! OTR what an awesome job you are doing.. Your numbers look amazing!! Keep it up!

You are making this decision for you.. my dad was totally against.. it they will never understand and i really don't care.. Now that they see me 5 months later they see why it was important to me and really aren't too judgemental anymore.. it's amazing you have to do what is right for you in your heart because it doesn't matter what they think.. Here is my weight surgery in Mexico SMILE!!!!!!!!!!!! I am smiling because i'm sooooooo happy i made this decision it has changed my life in such little time... Surgery was May 3rd.. just five short months ago!!! With the most amazing doctor.. so happy!! and i wish you all that happiness!!

Then you will really love Trish she totally takes care of you i felt like i didn't need my hubby to be there with me but i'm glad he was... great facility and wonderful doctor!!! Can't wait to hear your story!

Hi guys.. i havn't been on the boards in at least 2 months.. i'm stuck at that really really frustrating point... I want the surgery end of story.. It's so frustrating when your insurance doesn't cover it.. and i have no rich ppl in my life to ask to borrow... anyone in the same frustrating position? I think this might have actually made me gain weight lately.. i have a sense of not caring what goes in my mouth....I work so hard at two jobs and can't get the one thing that would change my life forever... I keep hoping to find some inspiration to suddently just do it on my own.. but the more i try that it has the opposite effect. Anyone find a good place to get some financing that isn't going to charge an arm and a leg for interest?

Wow i was surprised to see this post come back up.. I finally got my wish.. i woudn't trust any of those medical loan places..I didn't have the best credit.. but i finally did get a loan through my credit union that actually offered me more than i had asked for so i could pay some other bills off.. my loan payment is 270.00/month and i'll have it paid off in 2.5 years. I thank god everyday i finally had an option.. and it's been the best five months so far... I'm so much happier.. and i hope that you all get this surgery it is the best decision ever of my life...

Slowly over time your family will see that this was the best decision you could've ever made.. my son still says but you cheated.. and i just tell him who cares.. i'm healthier now and happier, besides it's like any other tool, i'm doing now what i should've been doing because i have my tool eating smaller portions and staying away from bad food..My dad still thinks i was stupid but i've come to realize i don't care what anybody else thinks not ever in my wildist dreams could i have made this come true and i'm loving every second of it!!

I had the same feeling as soon as i found out i was financed i booked right away, yay this is coming up soon for you.. only ten more days.. so excited for you!! I had surgery with Dr. Ponce on May 3rd and i'm down 75 pounds.. love my decision best one of my life.. I have some videos of my experience from you tube down in my signature... I also had Dr. Ponce Loved him and his staff and of course Trish. I was very pleased with my experience. I recommend him to anyone. He is such an experienced surgeon but he is also very caring and compassionate... Loved trish she was there everyday with my husband and I she even brought him food everynight.. she definetly goese beyond what is expected with a coordinator.

I agree with all dr. ponce's patients i was sleeved by him on May 3rd and i would and do recommend him to my family and friends. Trish is godsent.. she has your back and is so compassionate about the patients and will be there for you!! INT was such a nice cozy hospital loved the staff. I've done excellent and think this was the best decision i ever made!!

I went to Dr. Ponce on May 3rd i'm four months post op and my experience was just awesome, he is a very nice and knowledgeable surgeon. Trish did an excellent job of taking care of my husband and I and I consider her a great friend now we still keep in touch. I've lost 71 pounds so far and have about 70 more to go. I would recommend Dr. Ponce to any of my family or friends. INT was a nice cozy hospital and the Lucerna was such a relaxing hotel! I went to dr. Ponce de leon and From what what it sounds INT is very similar to Mi hospital, you also have a choice to go to florence Hospital (where Dr.Kelly operates) At the INT hospital i recieved a cd of my entire surgery from the insides so if there were any questions on what exactly was done i have record of that and the leak test. He was very professional along with his staff. He does speak limited english but my coordinator Trish was amazing she was there everyday with me and went and got food for my hubby made sure he didn't need anything while i was in surgery and she translated great for me. I still keep in contact with her and skype if i have questions for Dr.Ponce. He has trained some of the surgeons in Mexico and has great experience. Everything went so well and pickup at the airport was on time a person was waiting for me at the luggage with a sign that had my name on it. They picked you up in a business economy van there was plenty of room, and drop off was the same. Trish had us out shopping and at the beach the day we went to the lucerna, felt great to get out and walk. She even had someone come to my room the day i was leaving to give me a pedicure and it felt so relaxing right before i had to leave. My sleeve has been perfect for me my incisions have healed great.. it will be 4 months since surgery on Sept. 3rd and i'm down 68 pounds.. good luck in your journey hope this helped... Holly

Good luck wish you a happy surgery day!! I too am a Dr. ponce patient. He was very professional and i felt taken care of the whole time i was there. I loved the nurses at INT and Trish is amazing.. she really does care and it shows all the time even when i'm home we talk at least every month.. i skyped with her the other day too!! I had my surgery May 3rd and am down 62 pounds. Best decision i ever made!!
