I am newly sleeved and still on liquids, but does anyone eat this? I sure hope it makes it's way back into my diet one day. I miss a flax meal cracker with lox, cream cheese, tomato and caper.

This is my first post. I was sleeved on 8/25 in Mexicali, Mexico. As I type I am weeping over what have I done to myself? For someone that was overweight, I was in really good health. Really good. No HB, sleep apnea or anything. I am miserable. I hurt, I am tired, my kidneys hurt, I am constantly thirsty and though I am not physically hungry, it is soooo hard to make meals for the family. I went for a short tripto the grocery store with my daughter yesterday to pick up "full liquids" that started today and I was completely exhausted. The incision above my belly button is all healed closed, but is so sore! It feels like it is tacked down to something inside and pulls. It's also hard. My drain hole is still open and oozes after a shower. I keep gauze over it Amd it's also sore if I press on it. It is also a bit pink around the edges but not warm to the touch. I am not running a fever or anything. I start with my Water at 4:30am and sip all day long. I get about 84oz of water a day, but an still constantly thirsty. Nothing at all tastes or smells good. I bought all these different flavors of crystal light and the all taste terrible. Every sip I take stays in my esophagus for a while. I am scared my insurance will deny covering me as I didn't get the proceedure through them? It's Kaiser and I know they do the sleeve, but I didn't want to jump through their hoops. My hubby assures my they can't do that. It would be like having plastic surgery done and God Forbid a complication arose they would deny me. I've only dropped 6lbs since my surgery and and feeling I made the worst decision of my life. PLEASE tell me everything will be alright and things will get better. I sorry I such a bummer!! I am scared and sad.

Not a protein drink....but protein jello
TigerLily replied to JBoyd's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Was it any good? I may just have to break down and get me some of that. -
Make sure you pee right before and right after sex. I know it's not romantic but the hubby knows I am going to pee and wash up right afterwards. Blueberry extract as well as the cranberry work well in preventing UTI's. I wish you well.

We have had ours for going on 5yrs. It's still going strong. The hubby calls it the "Too expensive Margarita Maker." I use it all the time for his Protein shakes, mine, and the kids smoothies. I do a blueberry/strawberry smoothie with yogurt for the kids. If they aren't looking I will through in a handful of spinach. They never know the difference. If you go on the vitamix website, they have all sorts of recipes. The taco Soup is wonderful Happy blending!!!

Thank you in advance for any and all input. Here is my question: I have Kaiser and have had Kaiser for years. I didn't want to have to wait forever to get my surgery so I self payed in Mexico. Should I (GOD FORBID) have any complications or problems arise, will I be covered? I would love to take advantage of their bariatric aftercare program and see a nutritionist, psych .....

I used to eat Flatout's all the time on Weight Watchers. I loved em! If you are missing bread, you might want to look at the Julian Bakery. Good stuff especially toasted. They specialize in low carb baking. Also there is a link I am posting below. There is a recipe for something called "oopsies" they are really but not like the bread at Julian. pizza Dough... Look at this link. Cleochatra has a wonder pizza dough recipe. It was even featured on Dr. Oz. There are all sorts of low carb recipes on there. http://blog.yourlighterside.com/2009/05/low-carb-pizza-dough-cauliflower.html PS: I am really new here and hope it's okay to post links? If not, I am sorry. Let me know and I wont do it again.

Hormel turkey with beans chili- Is this a bad idea?
TigerLily replied to LaurenKorea's topic in Food and Nutrition
OMG! I love Korean Food!! I am still on full liquids, but would LOVE just a bite of Chop Chae right about now. I think Chili is a wonderful food source. It has the Protein and the Fiber all in one. Any chance you could find the ingredients to make your own? You would then know exactly what is in it. I wish you well and good luck! -

Okay, just got off the phone with Membership Services. All is good!!!!! Yeah!!! I will be covered for ALL aftercare and am being referred to the aftercare bariatric program if I choose to use it. I am posting this not to rub it in your face rather than to tell you that you are misinformed and I want to give you the correct and up to date information as per "Membership Services" not YOUR pcp so that you wont, in the future, misinform and worry others. I will also pm you this message to ensure it reaches you. I worry about you passing on bogus info to others. I wish you well on your weight loss journey. Thank you Raine for having my back and I am sorry you had to be treated that way. You are a good person. (((hugs))) -
I just hit the jackpot!
TigerLily replied to HDubSleevery's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not sure if others have suggested it or not? What about mixing an unflavored Protein powder like unjury carries into a Soup? (((hugs))) to you! There is nothing worse than something that doesn't taste good or won't go down. I am happy the old shakes are working for you! -
Can Anyone Help with a Kaiser Question?
TigerLily replied to TigerLily's topic in Insurance & Financing
Oh, and a ps: here..... I have yet to meet my pcp. I have been assigned to her for well over 3yrs. I haven't had the need to go. Most of my medical meetings were with the OB/GYN and having two kids. I tried to schedule an appt with her to get a referral and the only appt was 4mo out. -
Can Anyone Help with a Kaiser Question?
TigerLily replied to TigerLily's topic in Insurance & Financing
Thanks Foxbins!!!!! What a pretty pup - btw!!! I also went down to Dr. Aceves. He was WONDERFUL!! With the exception of my creepy night nurse, I fell in love with the entire team down there. I had conducted some research and found Dr. Aceves one of the most qualified. This is the primary reason I chose Mexico. Thanks again, Susie -

We all have paths we choose. Good for you for choosing the path you did. I am happy for you. I chose my road for specific reasons; personal reasons. I chose a WONDERFUL doctor and chose to self-pay. I was just asking (and not asking for judgement) for some insurance questions. That's all. -
Feeling - What Have I Done?
TigerLily replied to TigerLily's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why are you getting snarky? It's not personal for you. Yeah, actually I do. If I were to seek plastic surgery, it WOULDN'T be through Kaiser. If I had complications or got an infection I would want Kaiser to treat it. Seems pretty logical to me. -
Feeling - What Have I Done?
TigerLily replied to TigerLily's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay, now I am really confused about the Kaiser thing??? I have one - yes they will cover and one - no they wont. I decided to bite the bullet and call Membership Services. They are closed today in observance of the holiday. If they wont cover me for this surgery than what good are they to me as an insurance company? We will be in open enrollment next month and I may just need to change companies. I am sure once Membership Services realizes the chunk of change they will be loosing.....I cover a family of four through my work as well as my husband. We have double coverage. -

Yeah, ya kinda are! This was my first post, I am less than two weeks post-op, I am scared, I am sad, I have concerns and you post on here comparing apple to oranges- stomach cancer vs. VSG? I am sorry, but someone needs to change the wheels on your "welcome wagon." -
Anyone in the CA High Desert?
TigerLily replied to TigerLily's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh yes please! I would appreciate info on both clubs. I live in Phelan but work in Victorville. Are there meetings at night by chance? I hear you about the surgery being harder on yourself than you thought. I have never really had any hospital time with exception og childbirth. I am dragging!!! I am an older mom. Inhad my first at 40 and 2nd at 43. I am tired ALL.THE.TIME caring for them, hubby and myself. I took 8weeks off of work. My last kid was c-section and I needed all 8weeks to recoup. Thanks for getting back to me!!!! -

I am so frustrated I want to cry
TigerLily replied to HDubSleevery's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Egg sounds really heavy and I am not moving to mushies for 10 more days. What about some FF Cottage cheese? Ground beef is also pretty dense. Have you tried grinding up some chicken tenders? The frozen kind from costco. It may be lighter for you? You could grind it, cook it and mix it with a bit of FF cream cheese. Also, have you tried some thinned out refried Beans? I can't help on the Protein powder. I gagged down my shake this morning. (((hugs)))
