Will I Ever Enjoy Food Again?
NewBeginnings replied to optasia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you Holly. You are the first person to confirm that eating every two hours is ok. I really just thought it was me. It's so funny how this surgery has turned me into a nut. I question everything and constantly think am I eating too much. All I kept hearing about were people who were never hungry and that is definitely not something I'm feeling. I know everything will get better but i have to say patience is something I've never had much of. -
Will I Ever Enjoy Food Again?
NewBeginnings replied to optasia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Holly I have the opposite feeling. I am starving all the time at 3 weeks post of and nothing taste good at all. I cant find anything that I enjoy eating. I simply eat because I have to then get upset when I eat because all the food is just blah. I heard your taste would change but I enjoy cooking and would like to some day eat my own foods again. This whole process has been a huge struggle and I am really waiting for things to get a lot better. -
Talk me off the ledge- weight loss crawling
NewBeginnings replied to meggiep's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Meggie I thought the same thing. I step on that scale and see a point something loss and get mad. I'm thinking what am I doing wrong. I even emailed my dr's office and said something must be wrong. I'm eating all the time, i'm starving and i'm not losing. I'm glad to see i'm not alone. Just like everyone else said, when have you lost 35 pounds in such a short amount of time. We are all nuts to the scale or we would not have gotten the surgery in the first place. Your doing great. 35 pounds is something to be really excited about. -
When you first left the hospital
NewBeginnings replied to ASBgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Get the help. I planned on going home the next day as scheduled and ended up in the hospital for three extra days. My surgery went well they just apparently pulled my breathing tube out of my throat too fast and swelled my throat to the point where I could not swallow anything. Crazy situation and I'm sure it is very uncommon. I had my best friend some stay at my home and then my mother as well. I am married with two kids and I knew my husband was not going to make it without someone around, lol. I'm glad I called them to come. I was so tired after getting home and like you I just wanted to lie in the bed. The comfort of knowing that someone could bring me foods (I was upstairs) or that my kids were taken care of made me feel at ease. By the way I have a 2 and 10 year old and my 10 year old was so worried about me I'm glad my mother was here to distract him most of the time. -
Hunger Pain - when does it stop?
NewBeginnings replied to Syler's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok I registered with the site just to find answers to this question. I am three weeks post op and I feel like I am starving every two hours. I take Prilosec twice a day. This is not helping. I do still have terrible gas so maybe there is some truth that it is not hunger, but this is really annoying. I saw the post that said the hunger went away after three months. Is it common to take that long. The whole thing just makes me scared that I wont develop good eating habits because every time I turn around I'm hungery which is exactly how I was before.
