When I consulted with my regular doctor about having weight loss surgery and specifically VSG he was VERY insistent that I followed the surgeon's instructions on what to eat when. He said this was because he has a patient who had VSG six months ago and ate a few tortilla chips two weeks after surgery. She insisted that she fully chewed them but she developed a leak and later an abscess that has yet to fully heal. That scared the crap out of me and I hope it scares the crap out of you too. Stick with whatever plan your surgeon has you on and if that means liquids only, you absolutely have to do just liquids only. -

3rd day post- op difficulties

I was getting sharp pains sipping Water as well the first few days after surgery as well. It does subside.
