What vitamins and supplements do you still take?
KaysMommy replied to KaysMommy's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Thank you @catwoman7, it’s good to see you know what works for your body. I was thinking of starting calcium citrate again since I was put on a new med that says may decrease my calcium levels after a couple years of taking. -
I love the white pants. I am so scared of white. I think it looks so classy, but I’m afraid to get it dirty. I am the one who accidentally writes on myself, or spills something. Maybe one day I’ll get up the nerve.

Thank you. It took me a while, but I grab my “me” time when I can.

I know exactly what you are going through. 6 years out I had regained nearly 60 pounds. I was so unhappy with myself. I let life struggles, and being busy affect how I ate. About a year ago I started watching what I ate, not yet logging food again, but just making better choices. On June 18th I was back down to 168 but still so upset I was still 20 pounds from the goal I originally set out to be at, and wanted to be there so bad. Here is what I did. I did a total reset to when I started on real food after the puréed stage. I started logging everything, anything that goes into my mouth gets logged. I concreted on protein and veggies, and started my vitamins again. I made protein my priority again, made sure I got at least 60 grams a day. I also stared drinking a gallon of water a day. Also one of my meals a day, everyday is a protein shake. I am now below the 145 that was always my main goal. I am now at 143.6 and couldn’t feel better. I know it has to do with the protein I get in everyday now. No carbs go into my body. My vitamins , help me feel healthy. I don’t get dehydrated. The girls at work are so used to my gallon water jug I bring into work with me, and my daily lunch protein shake mixing. Even my CEO and CMO mentioned in a meeting this week about my water jug, and had only great things to say about it. The thing is, we may have regained, but we still have this amazing tool that can work for us if we want it to. I mean if I tried to lose over 20 pounds in 2.5 months before WLS, it never would have happened. Good luck with everything. I know life has stresses in it. We all have them. I changed my obsession with stress eating to obsessive food logging, and healthy eating. I also try to walk on my lunch. That one hour a day is my only me time when I’m not a mom, a wife, a professional, a daughter. You’ve got this, you just have to grab it. It’s great to have the support here, and keeps us in the right head space.

I just went to my 8 year check up, and my doctor still wants me to use them. I just can’t get my protein in without at least a shake a day. I had a really busy day at work today and I couldn’t get my normal snacking on so I’m drinking a protein 2o water right now to make up for it. Usually I snack on cheese sticks, and turkey sticks. They sell the packs with the cheese sticks at Walmart. I eat a lot of beef jerky, foster farms started selling little pack of cubed chicken in different flavors. Here are some pictures of my usual snacks that help a lot.

Weighing your food on a food scale
KaysMommy replied to chaibaix's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you for this topic. I’m 8 years out and got out of the habit of measuring my food. I finally got back on track and started tracking my food again, and lost the extra weight I added. I never weigh my food, but I do guess the amount of food I eat, and track that. I have a great tracking app, that is actually linked to my surgeon. Baritastic doesn’t have to link to a doctor to use it. I track everything. I have to take 25 grams of psyllium husk a day, I even log that. It adds to my calories and carbs, so I don’t miss tracking even that. I do like to buy things I can scan into the app, so I’ll eat 3/4 of a turkey patty and log that I ate 3/4 of that. My protein shakes I measure out the amount of almond milk I use (I’m lactose intolerant now 😫) with the scoop of protein powder. I also track all snacks. I can add how many many blue almonds I eat, stuff like that. I have gotten into the habit of logging everything that goes into my lunch bag during the day, I may not eat everything in my box but I can delete that if I don’t. It’s super easy to scan all the upc labels, or search for what I’m eating. By logging my day food, I know what I need to do for dinner. Tracking just helps me, I can scan labels at the grocery store to see if it’s something I should or shouldn’t eat. And protein will always be important for you to know, when I stopped tracking I ate way to many carbs and not enough protein. And drinking calories with carbs, when I stopped tracking I stopped looking at labels, so not good for me. Good luck with your journey, you will find what works for you. -
It was hard at first. I agree I still have “fat” brain. I always wanted to wear knee high boots, I always wanted to be able to fit them over my chunky legs. I experimented “a lot”. I’ve also never tucked in shirts, until now. I’m 8 years out and only now getting comfortable with it. It’s hard to find our new selfs. I’m cleaning out my closet right now. I found a size 6 dress I wore 7 years ago when I first lost all my weight. My sister-in-law helped me pick it out for her baby shower, she is super stylish, and she knew I needed help at first, and helped me a lot. Of course I never fit into it again, until now that I’m finally back on track. I can wait to finally be able to wear it again.

I love jeans and jean jackets now. I also love I can find things at the sales. I went to Bealls yesterday and came home with 5 new shirts for $37. Total score. I wish I know what sizes I wore to be able to order online. My only options where I live are Bealls and Walmart. That’s small town living. 🙃. Good luck on your finds today.

Happy Saturday everyone. I’m headed to Tombstone for the weekend. My hubby and daughter do cowboy action shooting. Wait till you get a look at my outfit tomorrow. Have a great weekend ladies.

Good morning all you beautiful ladies. I am dressed for my first day at my new job today. Wish me luck. Have a great all. As always, you are all so beautiful inside and out.

Good morning ladies. Its potluck day at work to say goodbye to my awesome provider who has serviced our local rural community for 15 years and myself for my promotion. I talked the girls into a potluck. I made my famous green chilie rellenos casserole ( I am in New Mexico, and I know I can eat this with no guilt). Then we are going to have salad and pinto Beans. The cake will be my temptation, wish me luck. Have a great day all. PS, my daughter wanted to take my picture this morning, then insisted on a Snapchat selfie. 🥰

Y-Connection issue with Rapid Weight Loss
KaysMommy replied to Ellf's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
If you are still continually having pain, it could be a number of things. I was 4 months out when I started having pain there. I was so tired, and felt Ill all over. Severe pains, finally went in. I was having a bowel rupture, and had to have emergency surgery. The rupture was at the site where the surgical connection site was during my bypass. I pray that isn’t it, but the CT scan can definitely give the doctors a better look at what is going on. My case is very rare. -
Only 3 more days in my casual office. A great NSV for me today. Size 28 Levi skinny jeans. I wore these 6 years ago when I was at my lowest before my gain. I went shopping in my to small Jeans tub and all of them fit. Have a great day ladies.

Love the pants. They are so cute on you.

Time for another day of work. The camisole is a size large and super baggy on me. My jeans are a size 10 and big on the waist. But it works. Have a great day everyone.

Happy Sunday everyone. I’m just headed to town for an AA meeting. I’m a firm believer we need to educate new coming bariatric patients of the addiction transfer possibilities. My now diagnosed PTSD from all my complications, and the transfer addiction, sure didn’t help. But now I’m on the right path, 2.5 years and going strong. Have a great day ladies.

I agree, those shoes are so cute. You look great. I bet that shirt would fit you great in a medium.
