Three days out of surgery is this normal
Aarik replied to Chatty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Call your Dr. Who cares what they think? You or your insurance company paid them thousands of dollars for this surgery and the surgery includes aftercare. Call them as often as you have questions! -
Good luck!

I didn't have a BM until I was on pureed foods. I passed alot of gas and that helped relieve the pressure. -

Need some good come back tips for the neg. people
Aarik replied to Was a humpty dumpty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told people the people who were negative about my surgery that my Knees gave me permission to do it. My knees said anyway you can get this weight off of us is alright with me. I also have to learn to be okay with myself though, regardless of how big or small I am. I am setting myself up for failure if I am looking for others approval. -
I think people do look down on and stereotype fat people. So I can't wait not to be judged by my bigness. But I know that being okay with me is really and inside job and no surgery can make me start loving myself. The surgery sure in the heck put me on the right path though.

I got to twelve steps meetings for support for substance abuse, but have found that it helps for my feelings toward food too. The fact of the matter is, for me it sounded like a good idea for someone to cut out a good portion of my stomach so that I can not each as much food as I want anymore. Therefore I must have a problem with food. I think that counseling will help you get through this journey.

1 Month Post-op - Advice Appreciated
Aarik replied to Blessed&Broken's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is something that we say in the twelve step program I belong to and that is "Trust the process". Just follow the directions of your Dr. and you will be okay. You know in your own heart if you are doing your best. It does sounds like good advice to get rid of that scale this about a lifestyle change not just numbers. Much of what need to happen with that lifestyle change needs to happen between our ears it's not just about what we put in our mouth. -
is this for real!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

getting rid of the gas
Aarik replied to jcollins510's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My gas was so bad that they gave me a molasses enema and only then did I get relief. When I got home I still had gas pretty bad but I found that when I moved up to pureed foods it caused my BM's to be more regular. Stick it out it will get better. -
I just started my own blog and was looking to subscribe to others people's blogs too. Please list your blog or any other blog you find interesting and would like to share. Thanks. Mine is: http://fat2pointzero.wordpress.com/

Will they MAKE you wear your CPAP at the hospital?
Aarik replied to juzmejnee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wore mine and they actually hooked it up to the oxygen supply. Sleeping on my back in the hospital was difficult. Plus they wake you up many times a night to do breathing exercises etc. But they don't make you wear CPAP. Where I was at if I didnt have my CPAP on I had to wear a cannula.
