6 Month Post Op-Almost At My 1St Goal
JELLYBEANS posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hey Beautiful People, It's been 6 months since my surgery and so far I've lost a total of 75 lbs Started off at 290 and this morning I weighed in at 215!!!!!! Yayyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!! 15lbs away from my first goal of getting to 200lbs and it is extremely exciting. Below are a couple of before and after pics...although I just realized I never really had full body pictures taken of me pre-op (so sad) Thank You all for your advice, support and feedback. -
Hi Everyone I've been snooping around on this site for almost two months now and this is my very first post. Just wanted to let you all know that I met with my surgeon (Dr. Silva in Paramus, NJ) on Friday 7/1/11. I was pro-active and found out all of the tests I would need in order to have the procedure, and had everything done just in time to meet my surgeon. The same day I met with him, I submitted all my results (psych eval, ekg, upper endoscopy and letter from my pcp). The young lady in the insurance department was not in in Friday 7/1/11 and Monday was Independance day so she couldnt submit for approval until today Tuesday. I thought it would take about a week or so to get any news back, but I recieved a phone call by 4 p.m. from the surgeons office letting me know that Oxford approved without any problems. I am still freaking outttttttt!!!!!!!! It literally only took 8 HOURS to get the approval. This is truly a blessing. The young lady that works at my surgeons office told me she knew I would have no problem getting approved because my BMI was 53% (I'm 5'3 and weigh 290 lbs) and I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I wanted to share my experience with you all in case there was anybody looking for a little more information on the Oxford Freedom plan

Dominican Republic Plastic Surgery
JELLYBEANS replied to jasleeve's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
WOW!!!!! I swear this is like the craziest thing that has happened to me in a long time! here I am literally an hour before logging ton to verticlesleevetalk.com researching plastics in the Dominican Republic. I've lost 95 lbs so far and have another 40lbs to go to get to my goal weight, but already I've got the saggy skin on my belly, inner thighs and breasts. Seeing this post made me soooo happpyyyyyy as I too have the same concerns and fears. BTW...BabyPink....I think I know exactly who u are lol Anywho....I've got a cousin in the Dominican Republic at this very moment who had a tummy tuck, breast lift, and lipo with Dr. Lopez Collado. She is beyond pleased with her results so far. She is also beyond pleased with the care and attention she has been provided with. Honestly, I would love to be able to get my plastics done here in US and not have to leave the country, but unfortunately there is no way I would be able to afford it. I've heard horror stores of plastics in DR....I've heard horror stories about plastics in the US....it's a risk you take no matter where the surgery is performed I just need to get this extra skin off my body to feel complete. I still feel like a fat girl with all this excess skin hanging around everywhere and I wont be completely satisfied until its off. I've contacted Dr. Lopez Collado. He's requested I send him photos so he can take a look at my problem areas and be able to provide me with a quote....just gotta grow the balls to take nude photos lol :tongue2: -

JELLYBEANS replied to BeautiifulEvolution's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Congrats!!!! Its a wonderful thing. Today is actually my 1 year surgiversary and I happen to be 9 months pregnant. Yup, thats right, got pregnant 3 months after surgery, and you know what??? All is well. Baby is growing well, healthy and he'll be here in a couple of weeks. I dropped 80 lbs thus far, went down a couple lbs during the beginning of my pregnancy and have pretty much stayed at that number ever since. You and your little peanut will do well. Make sure to eat well, take your vitamins, work closely with your doctors, stay hydrated and continue to moderately work out Congrats once again on the beautiful blessing God has given you. -
June Check-In For August 2011 Allstars
JELLYBEANS replied to MeMeMEEE's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello beautiful ppl, so glad to see you are all doing well and have all been very successful. Well...I have not hit my 100 lbs mark yet, reason being I'm 6 1/2 months pregnant. Found out I was pregnant in January and it was a complete shock, although we are truly excited and very blessed. All is well, down 76 lbs since surgery in August of last year. When I first found out I was pregnant I weighed in at 219, today I weighed in at 214. Our little boy is growing well and all looks good. Once Sept comes around and he arrives, I will be back on my workout regimen to get to my goal weight. I've got about 40lbs to go and I know that with the dedication and commitment I had pre-pregnancy all will be well -

I'VE BEEN SO SO BAD. Cay thanks for your message. Thankfully I am doing much better. I never had the problem before surgery. Doctor recommended i take prilosec and then have a teaspoonful of malaax a couple hours later. That seems to be helping. I still have the discomfort but it is getting better. How are you feeling? I see we got sleeved on the same day... Wooo Hoooo for us Please keep me posted

I started today as well. I'm supposed to have a Protein shake for Breakfast and lunch and then I'm supposed to have a sensible dinner. I was sooooo hungry today. I had about 1/2 of wholewheat Pasta for dinner with tomatoe sauce and a bit of parmesan cheese, but its now 10 pm and my tummy is grumbling. Think I'm just going to go to bed to keep myself from eating LOL. I know we can do it!!!!

Hello Beautiful People, I've recently been thinking about long term complications due to the surgery, havent had a chance to speak to my surgeon about it though....have any of you heard of any? I know this procedure is fairly "new"....any thoughts?

Will I definately lose weight???
JELLYBEANS posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello Beautiful People, So scared I wont lose the weight. I've been so strong for the past two weeks. I'm about a month away from my surgery and I'm trying to lose weight befor then, but today I failed! Stopped at McDonalds on my way home from work and bought 2 grille chicken snack wraps!!! So afraid I'll fall back into my bad eating habbits after my sleeve and that I wont lose any weight. Trying so hard to tame this head hunger, but it seems nearly impossible!!! -
