I've found that when I isolate myself and act like nothing is wrong ( you know- like my weight is going to fall off magically- lol), it really does not help me at all. I've wasted months that I could have been losing weight- eating like a pig (a small cute potbelly one lol) and acting like I was at goal. my weight will always be a struggle for me and that really pisses me off. even with the help of 1/4th my stomach, I manage to gain weight. How sad and pathetic is that. I can do better/ we all can do better just like now with us supporting each other. I have my resolve back to continue to goal. y'all with me?????????? -

You are all right on! I have not been logging my food, I'm eating carby-fatty foods, not eating much protein at all, or eating too many protein bars, not exercising, not drinking enough fluid, drinking with eating. I'm just completely rebelling against everything I know to be right. I know I can do this, if I start one foot in the right direction, the other will follow. I'll start with my next meal. I'm just so disappointed that my new habits didn't become more entrenched in me. Live and learn I guess. Thanks guys. I knew I could count on you -

VST Family, I need your help. i was sleeved on September 14th, 2011 and it has been a challenging journey. I've learned alot about my inner person and realized that I had the determination I needed to make this process successful... That is until about 6 months ago. I lost my job and my complete train was knocked off the track. Even though I found another job, I'm not really happy with it and it is taking its toll on me emotionally, which has led to me eating like crap and wavering in my exercise routine. I feel terrible and like a failure and need some support to get back in the game. I have regained 10 lbs over the last 3 months and I'm just afraid that I dont have the extra strength in me to finish the journey. I have another 50 lbs to lose to get me to my goal. I'm so close. Helpful words of support desperately needed. Thanks.

Can someone explain why eating and drinking at the same time is forbidden?
Pagie replied to jacee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am almost 2 years out and I am just now able to take a few sips after I eat. Depending on what I eat (water after eating carbs works out a lot better than Water after protein). but the biggest thinkg I find is that I am hungry a lot faster when I drink right after eating. Water just washes the food right out of my stomach. Just my two cents. -
Has anyone had Dr. Chandra Hassan in Ohio do their surgery?

Frustrated! Busting My Hump... No Weight Loss
Pagie posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OK, its been 9 months since my surgery and I'm down 106 lbs. I joined a gym to do some cardio (treadmill and elliptical) and also signed on with a personal trainer (started about 2 months ago) working out with him 3 times a week (weights and core exercises). I've been doing cardio at the gym 2 X a week for about 30-40 mins. In the last 2 1/2 months, I have not dropped 1 single lb. UGH!. I bust my butt with the trainer and then do moderate cardio at the gym with NOTHING on the scale. I've been struggling getting in my food per day, because now that I'm more active, I'm even less hungry. My trainer would like for me to get in 1200 calories per day, but that is very difficult for me. My surgeon is happy with my progress and says that eventulally my body will start to lose again. But at almost 3 months with no loss, I'm beginning to get really worried. I still have another 67-77 lbs to lose. My trainer says that since I am building muscle, my weight loss may slow down initially, but once I build more muscle, the muscle will help me burn fat and I will start dropping weight again. I've come so far to hit a wall like this. Has anyone else been in this boat? What am I doing wrong? HELP! -
Frustrated! Busting My Hump... No Weight Loss
Pagie replied to Pagie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've decided to give the scale a break for a while. I'm focusing on improving my cardio output/endurance and improving my strength training with my trainer. I have to eat at least 1200 cal, or else my workouts suck and I feel like crap the rest of the day. I've been eating these great protein bars that have 20grams in them and low sugar. there's two kinds I like. Pure Protein chocolate peanut Carmel ( tastes almost like a snickers) and think thin bars( chunky or creamy peanut butter are my favs-but I like brownie crunch too). the bars are between 180-230cal each. I also found a good protein drink at whole foods, orgain. it's all natural and organic stuff and has 16 g of protein and 255 cals. both the bars and shakes are incorporated into my diet now to help me get 1200 cals in. I plan to weigh in at the end of next week, just to see if I'm on the right track. Meanwhile, my clothes are fitting looser, so I take that as a sign that progress being made. Hope that helps! -
