    Women!

I am glad I have chosen not to talk about my surgery. It is very personal to me. I have been told to my face others are trying to guess what has happened. They are going to talk either way. I would rather not talk to them about it. I am shocked at people's rudeness. I would NEVER flat out ask people if they had this surgery. And yes people have been loud and rude asking at my job, grocery store, gas pumps, etc. I mean LOUD. I would consider it as rude as asking someone how much they make. There are enough people who are willing to share their surgery...I don't have to and I really don't want to be open with it.

    Hope My Story Helps!

Great story! I started at 282 on June 1st, 2011 and today I am at 197. The numbers are great, but the amazing thing is how much better I feel.

  9. Only my husband, kids, mother, sister, and the two people who told me about their surgeries. I like it that way. Women can be so catty and I don't really want people talking about me behind my back. I know they would!
  10. Your post is wonderful! Good luck with your knee surgery. Recovery will be so much better than it would have been 6 months ago! Woohoo!

    Just need a little advice.

Be prepared to sleep whenever you can the first month. Rest is part of the healing. Drink pleny of water and take your vitamins faithfully. Even if you feel good, don't Ignore the lifting restriction. Ask for help- say it's the back or a pulled stomach muscle. I don't know if you are planning on telling co-workers. You are going to love the new you after healing!
  14. I am so pleased with this side effect!!! I had reached the point of having accidents and was considering surgery to correct the problem. Since my vsg surgery I no longer have to wear daily protection. Now there's a savings I haven't heard anyone else mention!

    My journey

I love the improved me too! So much healthier! It was worth every discomfort in the beginning!
  16. I have started zipping seams on the side of everything I own! Pants and shirts can be taken in this way. No great sewing skills required. I just don't want to buy ANYTHING until I have to! I had a pair of jeans that I pulled in center back and seamed. When the pockets meet and overlap...what will I do? :0 SHOP ... just a little though! My two kids starting back to high school get ALL my money right now it seems!

    I must be crazy

I love 5k walks! I have signed up for two in September. I am only trying to beat my own time. Other people there will not know how far I have come. June 1st was an important day in my life!

Well, you see what had happened was...

My date 6/1/11. I wouldn't say I hurt, but I was uncomfortable for about two weeks. Like childbirth...I really don't think much of it now. My body feels so much better! My feet felt wonderful first. Walking is such a freeing activity. It is hard to believe that at age 44 my physical body was in such poor shape. The surgery has really given me my life back!

Are you Sure you don't want??

Just got back from vacation. I started asking for my water in a to go cup. We had water bottles in the ice chest, but I wanted the ICE water. I would mix my crystal light individual packets in the water to drink when the 30-45 min wait time ended. I think my 15 and 16 yr old were ok with it. Husband could not go and has been busy with work. I could tell he thought I was lying when I said I was full. He was in disbelief. He looked like he had lost a best friend!

    OVER-WHELMED!!!!! SCCCCAAARRRRRYYYYY!!!!!

I loved Sonic ice. It helped get liquids down. I didn't give my body a chance to feel pain. I asked for pain medicine every time I could take it. At home I took it on a regular time schedule. Some may think that is horrible, but I did not want to let pain scare me or my family. I think it helped me get up early on and walk which helped with the gas inflated stomach area. I felt sore, but I was not in pain. I did not become addicted...years ago my daddy was scared I would become addicted to pain meds after a c-section! Hello- pain medicine is for pain! Surgery on Wednesday - scheduled pain med till Friday- once Saturday and Sunday just to help the discomfort when going to sleep at night. None since.
