I just keep hearing whey. I would search on the Internet. Maybe type rice protein vs whey ptotein.

Well I brought my son and nephew to the shore to crab and fish because my husband had to go out of town for work. I could not drink enough. I had a frozen strawberry popsicle, a small ice cream, and a frozen strawberry drink throughout the day. Not that much food, but as you see my body wanted liquid treats. Oh, and I had two sugar free jellos too.

I think the pain from c-sections I had earlier were different from vsg because the soreness is higher up on the vsg. I guess the lower surgery made it harder to sit up from a flat position. I was pleasantly surprised. I did hurt with the trapped gas, but the walking soon after surgery helped ease that.

Walking helped me...it really was a shuffle. Also breathing deep helped. -
Adverse Side Effects
NEWLEASEONLIFE replied to kellymae96's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had surgery June 1st. Simply put-I like naps----a lot! Good energy in the morn. for exercising---but definitely tired after lunch. I start teaching August 5th. -

How did it go? I'm curious! -
I believe in prayer and positive thinking!

I had a shot to help prevent blood clots. The compression sleeves on my legs that continuously pumped were a surprise when I woke up. I also kept hopping out of bed to do the "Tim Conway" shuffle up and down the hall. (Carol Burnett Show) My mother and husband were worried, but I had done my research. I was ready. The few days of discomfort were well worth the start of this journey! 3 weeks out 33 pounds down

It makes the little bit of food I eat feel like more! Weird I know, but I want the amount to mean something. Taste is important because I sure don't want volume!

When did you know...
NEWLEASEONLIFE replied to Pagie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was tired of being tired. My feet, knees, and back were killing me. I never could exercise or eat right for a long enough period to feel better. I am 18 days post op and I have been walking 2 miles every morning for 8 days straight. I feel so much better. I noticed my face and feet first. The unhealthy swollen look is gone in those two places. I have done something great for me. My insurance would not cover the surgery so we paid. No regrets! -
I used the "I've had surgery" to explain at a recent brunch why I really needed to order a cup of Soup off the menu rather than pay $22 for a brunch buffet. My doctor gave me a card to keep in my wallet to explain that because of my recent surgery I should be allowed to order off the12 and under kid menu. I haven't used it yet, but I will if it means I will be a HEALTHY THIN woman! Oh and I have thought about packing ziploc bags/containers in my car for my leftovers. I am tired of the waste of carryout boxes!!!!

Not telling family about surgery?
NEWLEASEONLIFE replied to Band Be Gone's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was sleeved June 1st. I have told no one other than my husband, 15 and 16 yr old children, mother, and sister. I do not want people talking about me. I do not need need negative, jealous people watching me. I might tell when I'm ready---probably after I have lost all the weight. Almost three weeks after surgery and I have lost 33 pounds. My appetite has changed. Daily I realize how I used to eat because of mental hunger and not physical hunger. I feel so much better with just this amount of weight gone. Walking is so much more fun. I need to work on my flexibility and can't wait to get started on making my body stronger. -
It will get better. It is unreal how much food is pushed in front of us. I am 16 days out and I am happy to say that food does taste different! I treat it differently. I am happy that I start feeling uncomfortable when I have had too much. And too much is "nothing" and I am so happy! I explained it to the dr at my 2 week post-op Food is just mental now...not really physical. As I keep dropping pounds I will no longer desire food. I know I have found the next best thing to having my mouth wired shut.

I loved your story. What a great doctor for showing his emotions and let you know how proud he was of you. -
SWEATING all the time.....
NEWLEASEONLIFE replied to becca2297's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I live in the tropics of Louisiana. I was sleeved June 1st and am amazed how much more I can tolerate the heat. Before sleeve - I hated to even walk from the house to the car and that was under the garage! I had to walk a college campus yesterday and had no sweat worth mentioning. I definitely feel cooler. I have lost 21 pounds and things are looking better every day. -
