Me me mememememememe! Mine sticks out so bad that I am self conscious in public because you can see it through my clothes. It indents far where the actual incision was made, but then puffs way out above it where it's all hard.

Gawd. I'm still losing the Water weight I gained from IV fluids and now I'm expecting to stall 2-3 weeks out? That will give me 1 week of losing this month. I feel cheated out of my 1st month of significant loss. So not fair. <petulant foot stomp>

losing too much too fast…
Heatherr replied to lovemyboys's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It does seem fast, try to get the protein and some nutrition in. It is important. I'm 4 days post op and still weigh more than pre op. How long does this last? -
I haven't poo'ed in 5 days, but I've been on a liquid diet, so is it a big deal?

I love my bullet! No, it doesn't work as well on food as the commercials would have you believe, but it still does the job and makes the mushy stage easy. If yu don't over mix the shakes, you won't get so much foam and mine usually stirs in with a spoon. I still like the bullet because I never have clumps in my shakes and can add ice to them for a more shake like texture. I've also used mine to make baby food. Add some avocado to chicken salad and it comes out so creamy - an easy slider. Anyway....my $.02: It is nowhere near the appliance that a cuisinart or blender is, but it is so simple and easy to clean. I can use it several times a day without a huge production of clean up. I would recommend it and am actually contmplating buying a second.

I gained 9lbs by one day post op. I know it's all fluid and will come off, but I'm wondering if you all counted your weight loss from the weight pre op or with th weight gain post op. I'm all depressed now thinking that 9 of the 20lbs I expect to los this month are just water weight.

My cath was out before I woke up, but I have problems too. I am able to go, but it takes lots of concentration and I know I don't get it all out. Today does seem easier than yesterday. GL

SIZE 34 BOUGIE
Heatherr replied to TheSweetesThing84's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
NO, it's the opposite. The larger the number, the larger the pouch, but it's by milimeters and not much different between sizes. -
I have been dieting and losing well on my own, so I didnt want to go hog wild, but I had a chicken caesar salad and wine from this restaurant that has the best caesar dressing and bread ever.

5 days post op... white tongue?
Heatherr replied to smacbeth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ketosis just means you're burning your fat stores for energy instead of food. It'll stop when you get more towards maintenance and add carbs and more food to your diet, but the side effects may lessen much sooner. Everyone is different. -
That part only lasted a few days for me. At some point, your body will adjust and you'll feel loads better. The bad breath, however, lingers.

when do sizes go down quicker?
Heatherr replied to Heatherr's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Na, I hit a great consignment sale and got a ton of stuff ($10/bag) so I have a lot of smaller sizes and I did try them all on. I went down 2 legit sizes. I'm almost in a regular XL shirt, but my bewbies are still ginormous, so they look like...well....like I'm trying to hard if I wear them. I feel more comfortable in the 1x for now. <sigh> Soon. Hopefully by the time I'm feeling almost back to normal post op, I'll be able to fit back into regular sizes. :::fingers crossed::: -
I've lost 50lbs but have only gone down 2 sizes. At what size will it start changing more rapidly? When did you all really notice you were buying new clothes pretty regularly? Thanks for all info.

Has anyone had plastic surgery in Mexico?

How was the traveling post op? Can you explain how it all worked out as far as travel, where you stayed and how you came home? I'm so curious as I want to fix the girls as soon as I am at goal for a while. Thank you! -
Every insurance company is different in regards to how they handle things, but it seems to be common that your surgeon or Bariatric group.dr will put together all the infor to send to your insurance company. They know the insurance companies well and who required what info and will likely put it all together before. They want you to have this surgery. It is still a business, so trust they will know what your insurance requires. When in doubt, ask them.

What is the one significant thing in your life that you can do now...
Heatherr replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'll answer this because it pertains to me as well. I could run right away, but it was for 1-2 minutes. I'd walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes and do 1-2 minutes running./ That's all it took. It seemed that every week I was able to increase my speed, the incline or run a little bit more. I'm still obese and pre surgery but can now run 2 miles - though it hurts. I can run 1 mile comfortably. Believe me, my knees and shins used to hurt. I get it. Just take it easy at first. It wont take long at all. I didnt even feel like I was pushing myself in any way and it still happened rather quickly. Just do it. I find I burn almost as many calories walking on an incline fast. Maybe try that at first. -
SIZE 34 BOUGIE
Heatherr replied to TheSweetesThing84's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, mine leaves the lower part a little wider so there is less likelihood of a stricture or it being too tight where the stomach is the most dense and toughest to stretch, but he sews the top by angling it in. That's where the stomach is the stretchiest and produces the hunger producing hormone. He is trying to eliminate a stretchy pouch. -
Call your insurance company and ask them how long it takes. Mine guaranteed an answer within 72 hours, but the bari center messed up a few times so it was more like 2 weeks. Then they sent me an approval letter which I faxed (with return receipt) to the bari center.......that they never got. @@ Seeing a pattern? After 2 weeks I called to find out what the hold up was and after I told them I had documentation that they received the fax, they started scrambling, called my insurance company for verbal confirmation then scheduled me. Funny, when I asked if they could do that the day I got the approval, I was told no. Anyhoo, call your insurance company and once you get approval, keep calling or they can take weeks to get all the i's dotted and t's crossed.

Lemonade tasting protein?
Heatherr replied to Bemabound's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Syntrax nectar or add lemonade crystal light to unflavored protein. -
Can someone help with a low carb diet?
Heatherr replied to CowgirlJane's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
B: 2 egg whites and 1 egg made into a mushroom omelet with a sprinkle of low fat cheese or 2 egg whites with 2 strips turkey bacon L: 2 pieces of deli meat rolled up or 1/2C cottage cheese or greek yogurt s: low fat string cheese or a couple shrimp or 1/2 C cottage cheese or pepperoni bites (microwave some pepperoni and soak up the rendered fat with paper towel, put a tiny dollop of sauce and use a low fat string cheese sliced up to top, microwave again until cheese it melted) D: salad with grilled chicken, grilled chicken or shrimp with a green veggie, shrimp kabob or small portion of whatever the family is having that is low carb ^^^That's fairly typical and usually ends up around 700-800 calories and less than 30g carbs. I add a shake in if my calories or Protein are too low for the day -
The last 20 will be the toughest to get off. Exercise is your friend. Chop chop!
