    On vacation and can't eat

I may try having the hotel blenderize a soup for me. So far I've only had broth and shakes. At 9 days out what mushies can you tolerate? I'm supposed to begin two shakes and 1/2 egg on Tuesday. I am so looking forward to trying the soft cooked egg. My doctor is very big on the Protein shakes. I wonder why doctors are so different. Thanks for the tip on Justine's. The people in line made it sound like heaven.

    scared and dizzy day 8

I hadn't been drinking as much as I should until yesterday (couldn't get it down). Today I've been doing very well. It's noon here and I've had 4 oz Gatorade, 18 oz of Water and a Protein Shake. I'm worried that by trying to get the extra fluids in I may have torn something, but I have no pain--just dizziness. timestamp='1308768915' post='167970'] If you think you're dehydrated, yes go to the ER!! Have you been unable to drink much?
  3. I had my surgery on June 14 and am having the same experience. The lump gets better with Gas X, but I think the furry tongue syndrome is something we have to deal with for a couple of weeks. My big worry is I'm having dizziness and am worried I've torn apart the staples. By the way, I can't believe you are back to work. You shouldn't cry because you're stronger than most. Get well soon.

What made you choose the sleeve?

I chose the sleeve because it seems to be my doctor's preference. I have researched and read a number of times that it is less complicated for the doctor to perform.

    24hrs after surgery

I had the nausea too--had to stay an extra day. I was sleeved on June 14th . I don't feel sick anymore, but there is always pressure in my chest that feels like I need to burp and can't--I hope you will feel better tomorrow.

    Surgery Tomorrow!!!

I'd be happy to be your sleeve buddy. Today has seemed like a fog. I'm getting sleeved at 9:30 tomorrow. I was on vacation during my pre-op diet but still managed to do well. I was traveling with 5 other people so at times it was a chore to stay on track, but I managed. What time are you getting sleeved?

    Surgery Tomorrow!!!

Congratulations! I'm getting sleeved on Tuesday. and am feeling a bit nervous. Your post helped to calm me down. How much weight did you lose on your pre-op diet? I've lost 8 or 10 lob. I hope that is enough. My BMI is 39ish now.

    pre-pre-op diet

I started my pre-op diet 7 days ago. I have surgery on June 14th. My diet said to eat 1000 calories high protein per day. I thought I'd have a difficult time but it hasn't been too bad. I'm on a trip with three other couples and they don't stop eating. Before my pre-op diet began I felt the same way as you--eating all the things I thought I'd miss, but when the time came to begin the diet, I just shut down and haven't cheated at all. On the other hand, I'm eating tuna, and chicken at lunch and dinner because they are high protein and low calorie. I just keep tabs on the calorie count. Good luck with everything.

    ANY JUNE SLEEVERS OUT THERE???

June 14th I'm getting sleeved. I begin my pre-op diet today. Is anyone having trouble with family trying to get you to eat? My husband is having a more difficult time with this than I am. He keeps trying to get me to eat (just a little) with him. My required diet is 1000 calories high protein per day--two shakes and one small meal.
  15. I'm getting sleeved in Tucson on June 14th. I'm having my blood tests today and starting my pre-op diet this morning. Two more weeks! I'm getting a bit nervous, yet excited. I'll be leaving for vacation in Toronto on Saturday, so I know the pre-surgery diet will be more difficult. My husband will be the most difficult. He always wants me to eat when he does. This morning he is already trying to get me to eat Breakfast with him. Has anyone else had family members or friends who do this?
  16. I am scheduled for the sleeve surgery on June 12th. I leave for a vacation to Toronto on the 4th so I'll be on the preop diet while on my vacation--uck! I will have two protien shakes perday and then a small meal for dinner--veggies and a portion of lean meat. I will begin tomorrow with my pre-preop diet (self-imposed) of replacing breakfast with a protein shake. What about preop vitamins? Is anyone else getting set by taking extra supplements?
