    Slow Losers - Unite!

Wow! Members are just rollin' in to our little club here! It's good to have a place where we can co-miserate and keep eachother's spirits up. I was a little down yesterday with my "blarg", lol.

    Slow Losers - Unite!

Blarg. I've started weighing on the scale at the gym because it has the bodyfat% readouts and whatnot. The first day I weighed it said this (10/12): Weight: 222.2lbs Body Fat%: 43.3% Fat Mass: 96.2 lbs Lean Mass: 126 lbs Yesterday it says: Weight: 226.8lbs Body Fat%: 39.8% Fat Mass: 88.6 lbs Lean Mass: 138.2 lbs So I have gained 12 lbs in muscle, lost 8 lbs in fat, which of course shows a 'weight gain' of 4 lbs. At first I was happy about this. Now i just want to LOSE WEIGHT. Of course, if my lean body mass is 138, that also means that at 25% body fat, I'll still be around 180. I'm hoping to at least get to 160, but who knows. I'm just ranting, lol.

    challenge for myself

rules...uh.. schmules... I think that trying something different is a great idea. I'm frustrated with my own plateau, and I really and truly can't imagine how you must feel most days. I definately look forward to hearing of your successes

    Please hold me accountable....

Donali, I could not agree with you more. I was on a plateau for 3 months when I'd lost 50 lbs. Toward the end of it, I finally started seeing the difference. I could see the places that had changed, and what places looked better. All in all, I think that being stuck at the time was good for me (as much as I hate to admit it)... I just hope that in a few months I fell that way about my CURRENT stupid plateau.

    Nsv For Me

That's a pretty great NSV! I can't wait for a day when my doc would say somethin' to me like that, lol. scales are all different. My home scale vs my doctors scale vs the one at the gym. My home scale is the one I go with, since I can use it more often (and do, sadly), I should just chuck that one and go with the one at the gym that does %'s too, lol. Congrats!

Congratulations! I'm so close to that. I am in the US, so we count lbs, but I still calculate kg every now and then, lol.

    Saggy breasts

The procedure I read about most recently has an anchor type cut. They cut a small hole where the nipple is going to be, then a line straight to the bottom of the breast (around the nipple of course), and then a U shaped cut along the breastline at the bottom. I believe this pretty much moves the breast within the skin and the nipple isn't removed and replaced. I will want to have my breasts done, but I've read that in CAN interfere with breastfeeding, so it may have to wait until after I have kids.

    Frustrated and Confused

It kind of depends on what full feeling you are looking for. You will probably never feel the stuffed, pop the button on the pants full feeling again. Sometimes, I just feel satisfied (ie: not hungry anymore, not really thinking about food), other times, I feel pressure in my chest (but I wouldn't call it pain). The pressure in my chest means that if I try and eat anymore, I'm going to lose my meal. Satisfied means I hit whatever button it is that normal people have that tells them to stop eating, you know? The food will always be dropping through the band, the idea is just that it drops through slow enough that you feel done before you fill up your WHOLE stomach, just the pouch... if that makes sense. And like Vines said, how long you sit at the table will also have something to do with how much you eat. Hope this helps.

    Oh, WILMA

Warm and safe thought from here too!
  14. I've ordered extra food and eaten it in the car Been quiet about opening a wrapper or the fridge so as not to get caught Disposed of the trash from boxes of fruit Snacks I bought that never made it to the house I had a job where I wore an apron, which is fortunate because the zipper popped on my pants one day, so I just wore them that way Bought cake mix with frosting, to go home and throw the cake mix in the cupboard and eat the frosting! Good thread. I'll have to think of more.

How much weight loss in a month?

Hey there, You'll get all sorts of answers to this, as the range is ALOT. I have not lost anything in the last 2 months. I lose 25lbs within the first month of being banded, then nothing for three months after that, then another 15 over 3 months, then nothing for 3 months, then a few more, etc. I'm down 55 lbs at 15 months out.

Glad you are feelin better. Why can't you just wash the shirt instead of throwing it away? Just curious.

    Has anyone reached a plateau?

I've been at 225-230 since the middle of August. Unfortunately, my loss seems to work so that I lose a few lbs, then I'm stuck for a few months, then I lose a few more. Hopefully I'm due for a loss soon...

    Sexy is an Attitude

Lisa, that's a great pic. My mom told me the other day that she wished that the me from high school would come back. I used to dye my hair funky colors and make outfits n' stuff like that, just to be different. I'd design something, create it, and wear it. I quit doing that when I entered the corporate world. Now I want to do it again but I'm afraid of what people will think. Why is fear so easily engrained in the brain? I want it to go away so I can do fun stuff again. I'm going to start on Halloween. In my mind it's an excuse so that if anyone says anything I can just say "It's Halloween" and shrug. I'm such a wus. I totally want a Lisa makeover!!
