Donali, you shouldn't offer things like that, someone might take you up on it, lol

The joke I could take, but not the comment about not having lost fast enough. He would really hate me, I've lost 55~60 lbs in 18 months.

It really depends on the person and the circumstances. Some people have bouncier flesh, others haven't been as big as long, etc. Also, there's a number of people who go out for plastic surgery right after getting to goal, whereas your skin may bounce back some if you give it a year or two (depending on how much skin is there, etc).

Amy, you may not be able to do the whole big meal, but if you ordered your salad, and had a couple bites of each 'course' from your DH's meal, you could still get the experience. That may be why the 'finality' part of it is hard. You CAN do lots of things after you are banded that I think many of us though we would not be able to do. There will be things that you have trouble with, but for the most part, you should be able to eat just about anything, just in smaller amounts. I also agree with the idea that vluckey may need a small unfill.

Fruits are alot better than alot of the stuff I eat sometimes, lol. I wish I had fruit cravings. :welldone2:

I LOVE Chili's salsa. Actually, having some of that also put me on the search for more good salsa. The grocery store near me has one called "Rojo's Restaurant Style Salsa". It's in Kroger brand stores (Ralph's, Krogers, King Supers) at least (I've seen it in Colorado too), and it's really good. Not quite as good as Chili's but good. :welldone2: *waits for Jack's Wife's salsa recipe*

I think I would go directly to the people you spoke to and tell them that you told only them and that you told them to keep it quiet and you'd sure like to know why everyone is talking about your surgery now.

I usually don't see results until I've done good solid exersize for at least 6 weeks. Unfortunately these days, something keeps getting in my way (be it a 'real' or 'excuse' type reason) and I stop before six weeks to have to start up again.

SV/NSV, it's a huge victory nonetheless!!! I loved getting to that one.

It sounds possibly like Esophageal Dismotility. 'Geezer Sue' developed this severely and had a revision surgery from the Band to the DS. Basically the esophagus doesn't push things through the way it is supposed to so things just kind of sit there for a while until they feel like moving.

Are you in a position to get away from those things you eat that you shouldn't? Like could you bring a lunch to work or something? I find that if I'm eating bad at work, if I take a few days and bring my meals, it helps me get back on track. Unfortunately as far as the gym goes, I just have to make myself go for a few days to get back on track with that. "I'm going today no matter WHAT!" is what I have to tell myself, and then I just have to do it. Or at least make sure you take a walk at some point during the day. Do *something* one way or another, you know? Hope that helped some.

My fiancee and I got into some large fights shortly after I was banded. And we never fight, so that was tough. Basically it all broke down to him feeling like I was going to lose all my weight and leave him. I spent a good long time reminding him how long we'd already been together, the things that I love about him, even things that drive me nuts about him so that he could see how truly small they are in the grand scheme of things. I also told him that with the way we'd been fighting lately that I was just as insecure that he'd pick up and move back to the town where all his family lives. Somewhere in there we got it all figured out, though he still often asks me if I feel like I've 'settled' for him.

What am I missing? Why are ppl leaving?

I'm not sure exactly what's been going on lately. I don't know if it's that things are taken in the wrong 'tone' or what. I agree that it drives me nuts when someone not yet banded, or newly banded starts talking about 'how to do things'... just because (to me) it feels like they are spouting all the rules they know without really knowing the impact of what they are saying. I think the other problem is that there's a LOT of new people and some of the new people are clashing with the personalities of some of our older members. Hopefully it'll blow over. There was drama that was 'cooling down' right after I joined that people were still referencing, and then it happened again last year. Who knows. -
Poll for Women Only *ADULT*
Marimaru replied to DeLarla's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I didn't know there was a name for that either... but I know that they can lift that along with a tummy tuck. I imagine they could do it during thigh work too. Honestly, I might have it fixed even if I don't have a tummy tuck. -
That's awesome!!

I get the same thing sometimes. I have annual exams (I'm also 23) so I haven't been too concerned. Right about the time I start to get really worried about it goes away. I'll have to see if caffiene has anything to do with it..

Jeebus girl!! I'm glad you are getting to feeling better. I'm also glad the salon agreed to pay for damages, but you need to make sure to get that in writing. I think it's good that they are agreeing to do that without going through being sued, and I think it's good you don't want to sue them. People are so sue happy these days! I love the little 'tan tattoes' that they do, my sister has one too. And look at your flat belly! Feel better!

need help 2 months after banding
Marimaru replied to bandedshopgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
eggs are a problem food for alot of bandsters. If you want to try Breakfast you might try something else. But for the most part I have given up on solid breakfast. Lots of us are extra tight in the morning. Deli meats are good like Jack says. I can eat the subway wraps. I usually have half a wrap for lunch and the other half for dinner. I also open up in the evening and have to work against eating too much junk. I combat this best by eating good solid food. You gotta be careful with dryer meats, and certain things you may just need to resign to give up, at least for a while. Sometimes I can eat eggs, other times they cause me the pain you describe. Sometimes I can cause bread, othertimes not. Usually I don't try my 'trouble foods' unless I'm at home and have time to deal with problems, you know? Also, most junk will go down without a problem. We kind of have to police ourselves on this one. -
Rabbits and Turtles United New Year Challenge
Marimaru replied to It's me-Debbydo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, I'm down 3 to 4 lbs (analog scale, can't quite tell sometimes), so we'll call it 3 lbs; 222 lbs current weight. Hopefully that'll hold. NSV.. NSV... hmm... Oh! I suppose it's an NSV that I tightened my belt a notch last week, eh? -

That's an awesome boss!! Kinda like my boss... only my boss is my mom, hehe. So you're on the other side now right?? Congrats!! -
I've popped in a few times but no one has been there.

Lou, 'Work with the band' is a phrase that drives me nuts as well. Mostly because I feel a bit irritated that I cannot lose weight unless I eat less than 1300 calories a day. The band can restrict me to 1500 or so on a daily basis, and "it's not fair" that I can't lose weight at that rate. I'm a turtle, but I think it's mostly because of my own refusal to stay at or below 1300 calories. I've been doing that this past week and have FINALLY seen the scale move. I know that I quit eating at this low level and I'll quit losing and I'll whine for a few months before I do it again. At the very least I hope that venting has made you feel better.

I don't think that's a 'mini' NSV at all
