    So...I'm okay, how are you?

Sue, you look great!! My mom has always said that anyone who does something nasty, gets their payback (karma, whatever), it's just a matter of whether or not you are there to see it or hear about it. It's great that your daughter got to hear the story about that nasty producer!

    Not been around for months

muggle, if your band is not slipped, maybe you could try having it emptied for a bit, and have your port moved? I hope you get to feeling better soon!!

    Jeans and my port

leatha, I can see how that would happen. I guess it just depends on the person and the fit (which isn't really helpful, lol)...

    What's the "trick"?

The general rule is that it can take between 2 and 5 adjustments to have proper restrictions. That's kind of an average and it's less for some people and more for others, but I would say that as you get to the right restriction level, there's a very good chance that your weight loss could pick up. Being a member of the 'slow losers club', I do have to say that there are some people who are just going to lose slower than others, but other than being frustrating, there's nothin' wrong with that either.

    ShoeString NSV

    Awesome!!!
  9. It's not near your port? It might be a small hematoma. To the best of my knowledge, those can go away, or the doctor can drain them. I'm just going off of what I think I've read though. You might call your regular doctor. Even if they don't know much about the band, I would think they could deal with a hematoma.

1st Memory of my Problem Foods

Jojo, my story is so much like yours. Now, I don't have the ages entirely right, because I actually remember very well "when" things happened before my parents split up, but my mom moved out when I was about 10, and I know everything after that. When I was probably 8 (7,8, whatever), my parents put me on a diet. It was mostly "Here's some healthy food, and healthy Snacks, no seconds". Good enough, I still rebelled (I ate my sugar free candy in bed at night), but it wasn't too terrible. Mom gave me a time frame instead of a weight goal "If you are good with your diet, you can stop in 3 weeks" (I was happy at the time, but it may have been her way of getting my dad off her back or something, I'll never know). Well, I know I was on my diets after that, but I don't remember. Then mom moved out to go get a job so she could have a place to live when she got custody of us. In the meantime we lived with dad. From 10 through the end of Jr. High, I was on the scale, every morning. Bouncing between 165 and 175, mostly at 165. At least, that's the number I remember the most. There were plenty of times I weighed myself and wrote the number down and lied about it because it had gone up a pound. I was also on Slimfast. It's very cool to go to school and have slimfast for lunch, let me tell you. SO, I went to school, drank my slimfast, and then bought all of the snacks my money would pay for, and ate them throughout the day, or throughout the next few days. When I moved in with mom, the daily weighing stopped, and I don't remember her getting on me about foods choices all that much, but she was very strong about exersize when she could be (single mother, 3 kids, full time job, etc). I don't remember this (I don't remember lots of things I guess), but after there was a while of us exersizing every day on her schedule, she says I came downstairs one day and said "I have a waist!" I don't think it lasted long. Anyway... I think I went a bit farther than the first 'cause', but oh well.

    lettuce rejoice!

Jenn, Don't worry about what you *can* eat right now. With an unfilled band, it's likely to be darn near everything. You should be able to get a fill in a few weeks right? My doctor said no straws while I was on liquids after surgery. After that, it was basically, "if it works, go for it". Some people swallow extra air when they drink with a straw, which can cause issues, but personally, I find I gulp less air when I use a straw, so I use one all the time.

    Cheesy Question

I met my fiance on the internet. I wasn't looking, but bumped into him on a message board alot like this one (different topic). We were friends for over a year before either of us showed any interested, but we both 'came around' at about the same time. As of tomorrow, we'll have been together for 4 years, and we are getting married next year. If you aren't going to 'look' (which is a good idea), I would recommend doing as many social things as you can, and making lots of friends. You never know what new friend might introduce you to their cousin, lol.

    Fun thread: foreign languages

I took Spanish in school, but can't speak it very well. I can read it decently though. I know an itty bit of Japanese, want to learn more, but... we'll see I guess. My other languages are html and pictures. lol

    Filled to the max?

Elizabeth, everyone is different, but sometimes less than a CC can take you from "I feel like it's not even there" to "holy crap I can only eat 2 bites!"

Really stupid things people have shared with you

Poodles, that is SO FUNNY!!!!!!!!!! I gotta say, I feel bad for the ones that WERE being quiet who got stuck with the final 'cuz of the loud ones (I was one of the quiet ones in school). So this one I just remembered... My fiance and my sister and I were watching something on TV. I don't have any idea what it was, but it had some kind of magical dog in it, it might have even been a commercial. So my sister says as a joke "I wonder what magical dogs eat", and my fiance, without missing a beat says "Oh, they eat flowers", and my sister says "REALLY?!?!" We probably could have had her going for 5 or 10 minutes, but we didn't' think fast enough because we both started laughing hysterically. It was funny (though not as funny as some of the other ones posted...)

    Whoaaaaaaa... Locking threads at will?

I think when a thread gets 4... 5... 8... pages nasty... it's really just time to end it. I mean honestly, I started reading a thread that was like 4 pages yesterday when I started, and by the time I got to page 8 it was locked (not that I had anything constructive to say, lol). A couple of months ago we went through this (though not as bad) and I was pretty sure that most folks just agreed that if they didn't like a post or a thread, they'd just move on... right? As for marshmallows, I don't know who can stick the most in their mouth, but what happens when you swallow all those marshmellows?!?! EEEEK

    Well done, and greatly appreciated

I agree completely. I was gonna PM Penni and let her know that I was feelin' for her, but public forum is just as good! (Since someone else brought it up that is... I'm a wus, lol).

How much house will $1 million buy in your area?

In my area, a million dollars will get you 3 to 5+ bedrooms, depending on the other rooms in the house. EESH. You CAN get 3 bedrooms for less than that, much less house of course, but still.

    So...I'm okay, how are you?

Wow Sue, so glad to hear that all's well! Also glad to hear your esophagus is working again. I can't imagine having a stalker. CREEPY!! But.... if you ever wanted to do headless shots or something, I'd be happy to fuzzy the face or somethin' on them for you! (if you know how to use graphics programs, then nevermind that last comment, lol)

    FitDay question

I have to agree that the downloadable is awesome. If you make a recipe and you know the ingredients, but not the calorie content of the ingredients, you can put the ingredients into a custom food, and then it's saved there for you to use whenever you make it. That is a great feature. There's also TONS of reports, and different ways to look at things. It's pretty nifty.
