Death is not cruel and unusual. Even if they don't kill him, he will die someday. There are plenty of things I can think of that might not happen to him as 'part of life' that would be cruel and unusual, and he would probably deserve all of them.

My 2 younger sisters got pregnant within 3 months of eachother. One is married, the other is not. On the one hand, I have my mother's favor for not having an unplanned child (neither my niece or nephew were planned) on the other hand, I find myself wondering if I am going to have trouble having kids when I do plan for them. heh...

I think that at the very least, you should go to your parents' tonight. You can work out the rest of it later, but tonight, you need to get out of there and make your stand. If he wants to defend his sister, tell him the issue isn't that you don't think you'll never get the money, but that she agreed to have it to you at a certain time to PAY THE RENT and you don't have it and now your rent is late. Also, based on what he said about his sister when you were dating, his sister could start to dislike you at any time, and then where would you be? You should call your landlord and explain what is going on. Explain that you had expected your husband to have called him, but obviously that hasn't happened, but that you aren't going to be home. Your landlord is going to do whatever he's going to do, but getting a phone call with an explanation might help.

My kitties wore breakaway collars but now go mostly without. I'm very glad to hear they have them for dogs now. I'll be getting one of those whenever we get a dog.

Fredericks of Hollywood has good stuff in lots of sizes. Their Bustiers don't go above a D cup. I found that out when I was frantic to find one for my wedding. I wound up getting corset, which worked even better. They have a lot of sales throughout the year too. I bought a whole bunch of stuff right before my wedding. I hadn't really ever bought lingerie before that, heh

Congratulations! I bought a pair at Target that have a stretch material in the calf area... they stretch pretty good, but don't need to stretch much on me at this point, just fyi to those looking for cute boots . Also, they have a high heel, but I don't feel like I am going to fall over in them

I believe the 18 month rule applies more to bypass patients. My doctor told me "If you were to get pregnant tomorrow, it would be no problem" and that was the day before surgery. The rules on pills seem to differ by doc too. I was never told not to swallow pills, and only avoid it when I feel super tight, or early in the morning. Your pharmacist should be able to tell you which ones you can crush as well.

This is kind of a tough issue. For me, I don't care if my husband goes, I just don't want to hear about it. I don't even need to know more than "out drinking with the guys". I know he wont do anything, but I don't want to hear about who he looked at, or the lap dances he got. My sister it really bothers, but she has major trust issues with her husband that they haven't resolved. If you don't trust him to keep his hands away, or to push the girls away, you have to tell him that THAT is what is bothering you.

Two weeks out from surgery and have plateaued for a week, what the heck???
Marimaru replied to Freebird's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Even if your calories are in check, your body is probably trying to figure out what the heck just happened to it. Keep in mind that it's an average of 1 to 2 lbs per week lost normally, so, some weeks you'll lose more than that, and some weeks you'll lose less, but it'll balance out. Be more patient with yourself -
Got my Band on Monday, but I don't know what I should be taking now.
Marimaru replied to Justin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You need to call your doctor for their specific instructions. It seems that post op instructions are as different as each doctor, so you should find out what you doctor wants you to be doing instead of making it up based on what the rest of us went through. -
You should probably call your doctor and see if they want to see you. If you have a fever, they should probably keep an eye out that you aren't getting an infection or anything.

I agree, if someone has some real consequences, they might say something, or if they bust their radiator on a steel pole, they at least aren't just backing up and going away. If your community has special rules on stuff like that, is there someone in your community you can talk to about this? It's pretty messed up that you are out that much money just because it has to be 'just so'. You could also set up a webcam and see if you can catch who does it next time it snows.

The band usually isn't totally unfilled just because you reach goal. Also, I wonder what you mean by "normal diet". The band should cause you to eat a normal diet, as what we've been doing all these years thus far has not been normal, if you get my meaning. If the band is unfilled, generally you should be able to eat like you did before surgery. Some people have restriction just from the band itself, but many do not.

Here's what I don't get; What is the big deal, even if this were the "easy way" out? Who cares? Why NOT take the easy way out?!?! In many ways, it is the easier way out for many people, myself included. Well, that's only half true, for me, and many, it was the only way out because the 'hard' way doesn't work. Either way, I just don't get why people insist that you should "suffer" through the "hard way" to lose weight...

colds/sinus infections cause changes with your band?
Marimaru replied to Crishell's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hopefully this isn't too much detail, but it's an issue of mucus... you probably have a bit of a nasal drip going, and that blocks everything up. -
Yes! I agree completely
-
I am constantly amazed by the way people eat, and knowing that I used to eat that way, or worse!
-
If you are pbing frequently, I don't believe you should get more fills. And getting more fills but eating softer foods is counterintuitive with the band, because it's designed to restrict solid foods. It might be that you are too tight, if you are watching what you eat and eating solids first and all that. How much do you eat on a given day? I think your 70 lbs is better than you think it is. That's about 10 lbs a month, which is great, no matter what you started at. I know it's not as fast as you'd like, which is frustrating, but you are doing well
-
I hadn't been doing this. I had some items that were given to me that didn't fit at the time, that now fit. I was at Target the other day and there were some shorts on clearance for $4, so I bought a pair that fits now (16s) and a pair of 12s.

I think you need to talk to your husband. Obviously you can't get rid of this woman because of their child, but your husband needs to stand up to this woman and tell her to leave his personal life alone, and then he needs to talk to his mom, and tell her that she needs to just not take calls from the ex anymore.

*RANT* How should I respond to my Sister (Re:Christmas)
Marimaru replied to TheGh0st's topic in Rants & Raves
I think you either have to say something now, or suck it up until after the holidays, but I think you should say something at least after about how bad it made you feel. It kind of depends on her; some people you have to say something before the situation comes up, because if you point back to it they can say "oh yeah, sorry" but then the next time they'll do the same thing. Other people don't realize what they were doing and once they are shown, they will really feel bad and make an effort not to have the same kind of behavior going forward. -
Is there another doctor in your area? If so, walk into your surgeons office and tell them you want copies of everything in your file. Once you get the copies, tell them that if they want to keep patients, maybe they ought to you with the respect of doing their jobs properly.

Yeah, I'm bored. Our boss (who happens also to be my mom) has said she's going to let us go around 1 or 2. The whole week has been slow-ish for me because I've been relatively caught up at work anyway...

A lot of skin issues are based on what you eat. Probably it will even out as you get into a more normal eating routine...

And therein lies the problem.
