    A Big Fat Pig

I had a customer say something similar to me once. I suddenly had a very important phone call to make in the next room while someone else dealt with him. I'm very greatful I knew that I didn't have to see that guy probably ever again. Please tell us how your day went today, and if anything was done?
  2. I'm 23 myself, so semi-close to teendom, I guess. There's a teen forum on another site I'm a part of, but it's for all the surgeries, and it's not at all active. Anyhow, if anyone wants to chat, or whatever, email me, or catch me on AIM: MysticTaeza

    Breaking Off An Engagement.....

My longest relationship is the one I'm in now, and that's been 3 years. But I lived with a guy where we broke up, and he kept lagging on finding another place to live. If you decide to end the engagement and break up with this guy, my biggest piece of advice envolved in that part is to give him a DATE by which he MUST be out of the house! Otherwise he'll just lag and lag and lag..... Whatever you decide to do, I'm sure it will be the best thing for YOU and when it's all said and done, that's really what's most important sometimes.

Why does most everything I eat come back up?

You need to get an unfill. I wasn't quite at the level of tightness that you are at right now, but close. You probably don't need much out, I just got .3cc's taken out, and it made a world of difference. I didn't lose any weight the 4 months that felt like that, so I don't recommend staying that way. I think that you aren't taking much in and your body is just holding on to everything that it can in this 'starving' period. Feel better

    sushi??

If you are going to take the seaweed off the outside, you could get nigiri sushi instead. It's the sushi where the fish is on top of the rice. Sometimes they put a tiny strip of the seaweed around it to hold it together, but that's it. nigiri means finger, and they call it that because the pieces look kind of finger shaped. I didn't see this thread the first time it came around, but I had to laugh at the 'avocado' thing as well. Sometimes people eat the ginger in between sushi pieces, to clear the palate. I like to put a little bit of the wasabi in my soy sauce and mix it up, instead of putting a little ball of wasabi on my sushi.

    The Aussie Way

I think that the biggest issue (if cost worked out) with going to Australia for surgery would be the flight home. I had a 3 hour flight back from Mexico and by the time I got home, I was most definitely ready to be off the plane and on the way to my house. My mom and her boyfriend went to Australia for a vacation, and the travel time to get home with stops and whatnot was 24 hours. I really don't think I could have done that much travel right after surgery. I do want to go to Australia one day tho

    Sitting on the fence

Patients with higher BMI's typically lose faster at first with the lapband. With the band, there's none of that "window of opportunity" stuff to deal with, so you don't need to worry quite so much if you have a little plateau a few months out. Sure, it'll make it take a little longer to lose the weight, but it'll still be lost, you know? A couple of thoughts on the doctor from me; a) a doctor shouldn't do a procedure if they are only going to say bad things about it and find a doctor who wants YOUR opinion and wants this to be YOUR decision. Also, you'll need to find a doctor with experience with higher BMI patients, because sometimes they need different equipment, etc, and some centers will only do surgery on people up to a BMI of 50 (this speaks of inexperience or fear as well). Good luck!

    had my first fill yesterday-OUCH!!

In my letter it says "5cc balloon", but I think they only use that extra CC in extreme cases. To my knowledge, there's only one larger Inamed band. There are other brands of bands being used outside the US though, and I don't know squat about them
  9. I heard about the deoderant/breast cancer thing. It was quite a while ago, and I believe that it turned out being a scare to get people read the article or watch the news. I'm pretty sure it boiled down to the idea that anti-persperants can block your pours and cause boils or cyst type things, but that's about as far as it went. If there's something more recent, definitely let us know. *edited for spelling errors*

    had my first fill yesterday-OUCH!!

Kathy, I just checked the letter that I got from my doctor after banding. I have the 9.75cm band. I believe this is the length of the band, like circumference around the stomach, so it probably has to be a decent size ot get all the way around. The 9.75cm and the 10cm bands both hold 5cc's of Fluid. My first fill in my band was 2ccs. Fortunately, it was not painful for me. Hopefully since he's gotten it once, he'll have an easier time for you next time

Why cant we have low cal fizzy drinks?

Some doctors believe that the gas can cause the pouch to stretch. DeLarla (Lisa) recently asked her doctor about this and was told that is not really proven, but it's better to stay away from them because they are loaded with crap and even the 0 cal ones aren't that healthy. I can sip on them as well, and I do sometimes. I don't have more than one a day on a day when I am going to have a soda, and I don't have them every day. For me, I just listen to my tummy and leave it at that.
  12. I had this problem for a bit also. The only deoderant that worked was my boyfriend's. He uses Gillette something. It was probably just the timing but after I used that for a few days, I didn't notice myself smelling anymore. And yeah, Secret seems to be useless....

    Eating Out

Actually, I had the same thing happen when I went to a Chili's restaurant and got fajitas. I was all done and the waitress kept saying "you are sure nothing's wrong?" I have no issues sharing, so finally, when I was in the restroom I guess she came back one more time to ask my boyfriend if there was really something wrong and he explained a little about my surgery, so it was all good after that. Sometimes if you talk to the waiter or the manager, you can see about getting half portions. I've considered doing that not for the price, but for the idea that I'm not waisting so much food. I have lots of trouble with reheated things, so quite often, taking home leftovers is pointless if it's not something my boyfriend will eat.

    DeLarla's Weekly Fun Thread

It's so mean, but it kind of cracks me up with the 'back to nature' types have issues like that. No offense is meant to anyone in particular, and of course I would never make any kind of remark to any of them if they were having troubles, but they work so hard to be 'clean and pure' and it really doesn't seem to do any good... or at least, there's body types that need grease every once in a while, lol.

    DSL vs Cable

What kind of service does that security company provide? MSN does have an internet service, kind of like AOL. If you got Cable or DSL, you wouldn't need that anymore, but I'm pretty sure you could still use it, kind of like "AOL for Broadband". But in my opinion if you have cable or DSL, those things are just in the way of the 'real internet', but I know that they have lots of features that people like. If you are just talking about MSN.com, then you can use that no matter what your ISP is.

    DSL vs Cable

My Cable modem is a router with a fire wall on it. And then I have another router in front of that for my network that also has a firewall. My boyfriend handles all that stuff, but what I know for the most part is that I'm safe, lol.

    DeLarla's Weekly Fun Thread

So Reese's for Breakfast, lunch, and Snack you say, and then a sensible dinner? LOL I really don't think I could eat that much Peanut Butter. It might be worth a shot though, lol.

BC/BS wont tell me conditions of coverage

Do they have a website that you can login to? I have BC/BS in California, and they have a website and I was able to look it up. If not, I'd call and ask, and each person that told you no, I'd ask for their superior. I think you most definitely have a right to know before it's submitted.

    What ever happened to....

I checked that one recently too. Nothing new there. I feel so badly for her.

    What y'all eating?

I had about three bites of a sourdough breakfast sandwich. I'll probably have yogurt for lunch.

    DSL vs Cable

Kathy- DSL is an internet connection that goes through your phone line, while still allowing you to make and take phone calls. If you don't have a cable company near you, it sounds like DSL would be your alternative. Cable internet goes through the cable lines, but that only works if you can get digital cable (I believe). Hope that helps

    DSL vs Cable

My mom and her boyfriend have tried 2 times to have DSL installed, and both times within a month they've cancelled it and gone back to cable. I don't know where the issues are (with the phone company or the DSL company or what), but I think I'll just stick to cable. I have a friend who has DSL and doesn't have those problems, but would still rather have cable if he could.

Funniest Things Your Kids Have Ever Said

Well, I don't have any kids, but I can tell a story about when I was a kid; I was about 9 months old and I was walking around apparently with a bag of cheerios. Instead of holding out my arms to balance myself, I had the bag in one hand and I was eating them with the other, and then I fell down and the cheerios went everywhere. My mom says that I looked at the mess and said: "Sh!t" It was my first word.

    UK Bombings

Things like this make me ill. I pray for those who've suffered loss, and for the injured.
  25. It's funny I saw a Star magazine, or one of those types of things the other day and on the cover were pictures of people who aren't super thin, and their "Swimsuit Blunders" I think they called it. Everyone was in bikinis, and granted, if it were me in that body, I wouldn't have been, but even still, there's plenty of people who'd kill to look like these "fatty" stars! It irritates me no end.
