Am I alone in my thinking?
christina420 replied to BlkmikeG's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are NOT alone in your thoughts! I felt the same. Being heavy was my excuse for allot of things and I hid behind my fat. Total comfort in the strangest way. Then I said, literally out loud, STOP! enough is enough!!!! Then I got angy at food altogether. Food has controlled me for way to long. There are so many things in this world you Can Not control don't let food and your health be one of them seriously just get pissed off at food get angry punch a pillow what ever it takes but say NO MORE I will Be Healthy! Remember that being heavy can kill you so kick anxietys ass and throw it out of your head and do it for your wife and your children. What's/who's more important than that, right? -

christina420 replied to MelB's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Yes! Flinstones chewables are perfect and absorb fast and were originally made for kids so they are fairly gentle on your tummy. This is what I was tOld by the number one doctor in California, dr ceringle. -

Question for people with lower BMI
christina420 replied to Sap Soon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dr Alveraz is supposed to be great. Also my bmi is 29.6 to 30.6 and I'm having the sleeve done in 6 weeks. I was told by the beat doctor here in San fransico that ok do to it with a 28 bmi especially if you ate having weight related issues ( high bp, sleep apnea, etc. ) -

Low BMI and still having VSG
christina420 replied to christina420's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know that doctors here in California will do vsg at a 28 bmi. Dr Cirengle in nor cal is the best in the state and did my friend last week. Her bmi was only 28.9. Too bad his price is 19,000. Thank goodness for our Mexican neighbors. -
Low BMI and still having VSG

My bmi varies between 29 and 31. I'm going to dr Almanza. He read my paperwork and said I qualified. Maybe he does it at a lower bmi than others ???? -

Feeling weak and light headed after VSG
christina420 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm worried that after my VSG I will feel weak, dizzy and light headed and tired because I will only be eating 500-700 a day instead of my usual few thousand. You know how you feel when you go too long with out eating? Will it be that way after surgery or because your tummy is so tiny that that won't be an issue. I'm having my surgery in about four months ( need to save the money first) I'm so excited but terrified! Also people are saying bad things to me because I only need to lose 50-60 pounds. That I'm stupid and craY for doing this and I should be able to lose that on my own. I'm very addicted to food and I want it to stop containing my life. I want to be healthy not skinny. Anyone else run into this problem?? Thanks, Christina/San Francisco -

Waking Up Choking
christina420 replied to notsochubbybritneyspears's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow that is exactly what happened to me. I thought I was a great sleeper. Slept like a rock most Nights. I'm mostly a side sleeper but as soon as I would rol over on my back I would do this weird chokey thing. I didn't think too much about it but then my work ( school bus driver) to take a sleep study test. turns out i have moderate to sever sleep apnea now i sleep with a c-pap. Hopefully after surgery this will be resolved. -
6 days after surgery
christina420 replied to myboys2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm worried that I will feel light headed and weak after my surgery because of not eating enough calories. My body is so used to having a few thousand calories per day then all of a sudden I will only we consuming 500-700 a day. Does your body feel like it's going into shock, weak, light headed, dizzy, etc. Or because your tummy is so much smaller you don't feel that way. ?? -

Hlep Info on WLS in Mexico
christina420 replied to christina420's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Brandynd. Thank you so much! Out of everything I read so far your advise has helped me the most. I'm going to ask all those great questions. Can I ask you about how bad the pain was and was it an awful and painful plane ride home? I am so sensitive to pain meds that I think I probably won't remember much for a dew days after surgery. Do they give you antibiotics and pain meds as a precaution as well? Thanks so much it was so helpful to me to hear what you had to say. Christina. San Francisco, ca Christinaburdios@comcast.net
