donnafhaas started following Weight Obssesed, Possible Leak, Will .25 cc's make a difference? and and 7 others
-
I'm not real sure if I have a leak or not. I can't keep a fill. I'm loosing saline but doc can't find a leak with x-ray. He says my band looks fine. I'm obviously not keeping my fill for a reason. I'm self pay and worried about the costs. I have gained 30 pounds over the past 6 months. I'm thinking about just replacing my port. Does anyone know the cost for port replacement in Texas? Thanks for the help.

We share the same doctor. Not only is he handsome but he is very kind. He acutally has two offices. One in Dallas and the other in Ferris. I love him to death. -
I had a fill on Tuesday. I have a 4cc band. I was at 2cc's. Doc put in .50cc's. I did ok at the office. I got home and had symptoms of my band being too tight. I was puking up the liquids I was trying to drink. For 2 days I had only ice chips. Today I got tired of not eating so I decided to eat some chips. Surprisingly I was able to get down about 4 chips and 3 small spoons of tuna. Still no liquids. I've had a head cold for the past week. So needless to say I've woken up with some nasal drainage. I've had a ton of mucus in my chest. So I'm wondering if liquids cant get down due to this. I have an unfill scheduled for in the morning. I'm going to see if he will just take out .25cc's. I'm wondering if it will even make a difference. Has anyone seen a difference with such a small amount?

How was your recovery 1 week after surgery
donnafhaas replied to too much of me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It does get better. I too had a horrible time. I had alot of gas trapped in my chest from them blowing me up with air. It took me about 2 weeks before I started feeling better. You will be so happy in the long run. -
The lap band did not work too well for me. I guess because I worked around it. I had a lot of restriction and only lost 26 lbs in the first year. Well I had an ovary erupt due to a tumor. Ever since then I have been maxed out on my fills and losing weight FAST. I'm down 100lbs. Everyone says you can be too full. No I think thats a bunch of crap. I got some taken out so I could just eat small amounts and I gained weight. I got another fill and it started falling back off. I dont diet I dont exercise. I eat maybe a cup of food a day. I think some women have hormone problems and dont realize what that has to do with weight gain.

I too am almost to the point of getting a tummy tuck. I'm looking more toward a date in early March. I live in the Dallas area. I'm having a hard time finding a good doctor. If you could keep me posted I would love to know how it works out for you. Thanks so much! Donna

You know I'm sure I will be stoned for saying this..... But here it goes. I did this for awhile. I was way too tight. I kept throwing up almost everything I ate. I lost a ton of weight. I'm down almost 100lbs. I weighed 160 lbs. Well I went to get some saline taken out because it was killing my health. I was dizzy all the time and had head aches everyday. I had 1 cc taken out about 6 weeks ago. Well as you can guess I began to over eat again. I put on 10 lbs. So needless to say I'm making another appointment to get more put in. And what is so crazy is that I have been exercising like 3 times a week. This consists of riding my bike 5 miles. My clothes still fit right. Everyone tells me its probably muscle gain and water weight. I dont care though.. I'm getting back on the PB train.

I was banded September 05. I am down 95lbs. -
help me, guys - should I go in for an unfill ?
donnafhaas replied to fitzgerald's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was in the same boat as you for about 14 months. I lost about 65lbs doing it that way. When you PB is it really easy? Like with me I just bent over and it would come out. So there was no risk of hurting my band.. or so I thought. Everyone on this site pretty much talked me into getting an unfill. I did and I now feel great. Its only been a week. I have not lost any weight this week, but I have lots of energy. I have mental clarity as well. I only consume 1400 calories a day and I do exercise. I'm going to see how it goes. What the hell I can always get more put back in. But I can't afford another band if I mess this one up. I'm 10 lbs till goal so I'm going to try eating right and exercise on the last leg of this trip. GOOD LUCK... You do what you think is right for you. -

Is it easy to pull the stitches out of port
donnafhaas replied to 396power's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I went for fill yesterday and doc said mine was flipped. He manipulated it with his hands and got it so he could access it. I thought they stayed stiched, he said no. He said the stiches disolve. He told me the port is free standing, although they usually stay put. -
I went today for a unfill. The doctor told me that my port had flipped also. Mine was almost all the way backwards. This doctor was awesome. He told me he could manipulate it back the right way. And he did it only took about 10 mins and a little pain. He was able to access my port. I'm not sure where your from but he is located in Dallas. He is awesome and did not give up kept trying.
