A mirror sounds like the best idea. Esp. if the room is small a mural might close in the room when a mirror will open it up. Friends and family are right. I'm flattered you thought of me maybe next time;-) I keep seeing people adress you as Lisa (cool name) Is that your real name or what?
-
DeLarla or is it Lisa, if your serios about needing some ideas with that wall post a pic of it (without the big oil painting over the damage) and let me take a look at it. Include the measurments & I'll see if any great ideas come to mind. Did I understand you right, there was a cabinet in this space? Anyway I'm happy to share ideas, let me see some pics. Ryan, you know what they say about dreams like that.......

Oh yeah, what about room service? Kidding....did I have you worried? So what kind of mural did you have in mind? Yes, my kids do love thier rooms.

NSV=non scale victory, I know because someone else told me just this morning! We've got some great cheer leaders on this board! (dancing banannas)
-
No, I could'nt do that even 3 months ago. Yes, wonderful NSV! I have a scale victory too....I am now entering the 280's Today has been awesome! I wish everyday could be like today but then I might begin to take these victories for granted.
-
Marie, I had to go search in the archives for NSV it's non scale victory right? I understand victory, but non scale? Does that mean small? I am new to all this computer coresponding you know. I remember seeing a post with alot of the abreviations on it now I can't find it. Does anyone know where it could be? Have I mentioned it's Friday! YIPEE!! I can't help it I still get excited on Fridays! I hope that never goes away! My hope is that all of you could feel as good as I do today, I think loosing this weight is euphoria!

I know your sooo excited! I'm excited for you! First time you'll be happy to be catagorized as a "Looser" I bet. See you on the loosing side! Did you make sure to get a before picture? Ha, Ha, you probly have enough of those, right. -
Speedy recovery to you Ryan. You need to think about giving up those ibuprophen all togather. Find another pain killer anacin works for my husband. Ibuprofen raises your blood presure, causes bad indigestion, and can irritate ulcers. My husband knows from personnal experience. Do you drink? My husbands friend did. He had a back ache that he could'nt get rid of and was taking tylenol everyday (probly too often) for it. He went to the Doc. feeling bad the Doc. took blood tests and told him it was just a matter of time. Two days later his friend died. This is a true story, it just happened a few months ago. The tylenol killed him the drinking caused him to be more vernerable.

I forgot to ask....exactly what does a "fossil"widow mean?

Sounds like our men have that in common. Absolutely no intrest in sports here either! Amazing is'nt it! When I found that out about my man I snatched that guy up before some other woman found out!:laugh

The good thing about not being done when BF moves in is that he will get to come in and "rescue "you and help tie up loose ends. You know what that kind of thing does for a man, he gets to feel needed and useful. If your able to do this all by yourself without any of his help what is he gonna be there for. Men don't like to hang around for decoration. They like to be fixing something.

Your a real sweet heart to give up your secret hiding place for us! Thank you, what an unselfish thing to do! I did visit and manage to sign your guest book. I enjoyed learning more about your dear wife. Wow 250lbs! She sounds like shes going thru alot, I hate to hear that. You tell her that shes a lucky woman!
-
I am impressed! That looks like professional did that siding! You can do it, keep up the good work were pulling for you. Why do you only have 5 days?
-
You ladies are just too sweet! Thanks for the ideas. I still want to go with some sort of sky/craft theme. We have alot of pilots in the family and my son has already caught the family bug if you know what I mean. Except his daydreams are of him being a captain of a starship! He keeps asking me to come live in space with him one day, I keep telling him that I like it here on earth where the grass grows & his reply is, "There will be a room with grass in it Mom." Thats my boy! He is smart as a whip! Dream on!:alien

The only thing I've had to give up is large quantities of food! For the most part I can eat anything I want just not anytime I want. I do have trouble with breads and cakes but only if I have other things on my stomache. In other words if I try to top off a dinner with a piece of cake, I'll have to pay the consequences. I don't eat breads with other foods bacause I tend to PB if I do. So, if I want bread I eat avg. of 1/2 pice toped with sandwich items of my choice and thats all. My guess is that it expands leaving little room for other foods.

Thank you , Thank you, Thank you ! I'm having to prop my head up with with my left hand while I type with my right. I did'nt get to paint in my sons room after all but I did paint on my mail box today. I'm finding it hard to get motivated for painting my sons walls. Whats wrong with me, I go over board with little girl stuff and am stumped with little boy stuff. I don't know if girly stuff is easy for me or if I'm trying to give my daughter everything I did'nt get when I was young. I never bought that line till I took a step back and compared my sons room to my daughters. Eves room is plush and Davids room is a normal 6 year olds boys room. I have this one friend that thinks I spoil Eve, but thats honestly not my goal. This friend is all the time saying things about it. Her little daughters even feel free to say things about Eve being spoiled. I can only imagine that they're repeating what they hear. Has anyone else had this kind of thing happen or am I blind to the situation?

He is a cutie, don't tell him that. Tell him I said he's a handsome young man. I know what my son would say to all that cute stuff.....hes not cute he's handsome!

Speaking of Dr. Phil....One of my friends that used to dream with me about when we get the band is all into him now. Shes against the band now. I think you should try all that you can to lose weight before you get surgery, but to turn on something you used tolook forward to because of what one motivational speaker is saying......... I don't know what that man is saying but theres alot of people out there eating it up and begging for more.

Welcome and good luck!

So sorry to hear of all your having to endure right now Penni. Know that you and yours are in my prayers. You be good to yourself and have some alone time or whatever you do to replenish your reserves. Sounds like your having to be real strong for your loved ones and I pray you'll pull thru like a champ! Max Lucado said something once and I'll share it with you if you don't mind(like you can object right now) If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it. If God had a wallet, your photo would be in it. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning. When you want to talk, He'll listen. He could live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart. And that Christmas gift He sent you in Bethleham? Face it, friend, hes crazy about you! You can't give anything away if your own tank is empty!

Wait till I lose a bit more then I can be on the showtoo. Or at least in the audience.Like I said I'm a big Oprah fan, Maybe because she used to be overweight. Hey, she might even gift the entire audience with some kind of exercise equipment since she so big on fitness now. All we have to do is write and say we want to be in shape but can't afford it! Alot of people wrote to her about thier car/transportation and the entire audience was gifted with a car! Did you read about that? I think it was on T.V. too!No joke!
-
I'm a big Oprah fan my self. I thought the same thought you were thinking Bushbaby then thought better of it. Remember Oprah was overweight. Watch "The Color Purple" she looked to be at least 350lbs. She lost all her weight and got in shape without help from the band and the likes of. She might not want to relate herself with us bandsters. It might look like shes promoting the band. And everyone knows if Oprah is behind it, hundreds of thousands of people would run out and get it. Hav'nt you seen the statistics of all the books she mentions on her show. If Oprah mentions it people buy it! Its the truth! I personnally hav'nt bought one single book she has promoted but know people that has. Anyway, it would'nt hurt to try but common sence tells me no.

Hi, I'm in Texas too! Are you near the Houston area like me? I used Dr. Spivac here in the states.

I've had my band now for almost two months. Life is definately looking up! No more depression,I've had more energy than I know what to do with, can pull just about anything out of my wardrobe and wear it-comfortably, Getting complement evrywhere I go on the weight loss, and the list goes on and on....... The only thing that could be better is for my husband to be experiencing this with me. Instead hes feeling left out or left behind or something. I think hes depressed. Hes scared I'm gonna get skinny and leave him. He says all the time that his biggest fear is that he will lose his family. He waited till he was 33 years old to start a family and now that he has one hes in heaven. I try my best to assure him all the time we're not going anywhere. I can see he still struggles with this issue of insecurity. It puts me in a awkward place, to know the biggest fear your spouse has is that your gonna leave one day. Then it did'nt help when a couple close to us felt "led" to tell us that the divorce rate was extremely high after a person gets weight reduction surgery. So, now I'm thinking what kind of person do these people think I am? I even had an Aunt (confessed pesimist) tell me if I ever lost my weight I'd go crazy and leave my family! By now I'm thinking these people have O idea of who I really am! I don't know where all this is coming from, I started typing and took off! My real concern is my husband....how or what can I do to include him in my "new life". Hes watching alot of T.V., unmotivated to do things, and is grumpy alot these days! It's driving me CRAZY! Is medication (antidepressants) the answer for everything nowadays? Is there something I can do to help?
