    Catheter question for men

Great, First time ever through my procedure and recovery I just threw up...and I think I'm blind too.
  2. Newly Calibrated

    Um... endowment?

Went from 0 times a month to 4-5 times a day and it's been only a week since surgery.Good thing there is more than one recipient of this newly found fortune to pass it around. I do know the first time I "cashed" my chips in, at the time of release there was a huge tug just under my sternum. I'm thinking where the hiatal was fixed. I stoppped for a moment, thought about it, assessed the situation and all looked good so I pressed on. No wondering after that. I'll have to run that by the Doc. when I see him. Actually I have a fitness class with the Dr's office's personal trainers tomorrow. I'll see if it's a question that can make them blush. I ain't afraid.

    Catheter question for men

Pretty freakin' easy and convenient. You're out when they put it in. I loved it. Thinking of getting one for the when the Super Bowl or Nascar is on TV. You don't actually go, you just drain. I thought your bladder filled and then you emptied it like normal. No Sir-ee. Just let it go. When it's tiime for it to come out, a deep breath a push and it's out. I've had a harder time trying to dislodge a snot rocket out of my nose. Plus anytime I can get a hottie to handle the junk in such a caring way...win, win! Make sure your robe doesn't clash with your new yellow purse while you're cruisin' the halls.

    Well, here I am...

Hmmmm......First Post-op Dr. appointment today. Got my staples out and given the ok to hit the gym, drive and go to stage 2 of the post-op diet. Feel great. Never cracked open any of my pain med prescription, never got belly sick (either end), slept on my stomach 2 days out of the hospital. I do believe 90% of this is all in the head and how hard you apply. Oh yeah.....17 lbs lost with pre-op shake diet w/ 1 regular meal and Snacks and 1 full week post-op for a total of....................38lbs. Stick to it and get help if you need it. Buttercup

    Pre-op hunger pangs

It is a great place, no ball pit but still a great place. Don't be afraid to ask a question or bring up a thought because your question, is probably someone else's question that doesn't get asked. ButterCup

    Pre-op hunger pangs

Just as every Dr is different so is the patient. I was on a 2 week pre-op that consisted of 2 Protein shakes a day with one sensible meal in between with a snack. I lost 17 pounds in that 2 weeks and the surgery was success.Sure I cheated, I had the closeted Slim-Jim rendezvous, a cheese-doodle here or there and even a trip to Subway but it worked. I have realized that the first cheese doodle tasted as good and the same as the 100th, so just dig all the way to the bottom and grab that "last" one. I went home from the hospital the next day and I'm on day 5 of the post-op liquid diet and feeling great. The easier you make it on yourself pre-op I believe is what makes it even easier post-op. Suggestions are exercise, reading, writing and all around just staying busy. Find a good movie channel that doesn't have commercials. Stay focused on the game plan and come to realize that there is a reason you are taking on this life changing task. If it's a mind set that this is "torture", then a new mind set is needed. Call your physc evaluator or Dr's advocate. It's food and eating style that made it "torture" to live in the skin you are trying to shed. It's one or the other and the other is what we are shooting for. Day 5 and I'm still on a routine. Up at 6 a.m., meds and supps. Protein Drink. Walk the dog on the golf course before the "hackers" show up and then the gym for a lite romp on the treadmill. Taking all this FREE time to organize life when life didn't allow me the time. I can now see into my closets, my desk actually does have a wood top to it and the dust bunnies have all been laid to rest. You can do it, we all can do it. That's why there is this community of support and not just one "Peggy" type person on the other end of a support phone. One mindset would bring this place down quicker than the waistlines of those who have discovered just how rewarding the weight loss is. Call some dear old friends, family members and have them dig up some old pictures they may have from parties, family reunions, ones from your 'healthy" years. I have them plastered on my bulletin board, some from only 10 short years back and can't believe what I have seen. It's all good. Hang in, Hang on and grab a Lands Ends catalog, L.L Bean, Vicky Secret (i only read it for the articles) and plan ahead instead of looking back. Have a blessed day. ButterCup

    Well, here I am...

Hello all. My name is Chuck and I'm a newly sleeved member of this world. I had my procedure done on Tuesday the 24th at 6 a.m. and was home on Wednesday evening the 25th. Thanks to all at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia SC and Dr. Antonelli and staff at Riverside Surgical. What a fantastic team of players. I feel great and have very little pain. Only real twinge is the larger of the 6 incisions but that is to be expected. My Forum Name co-insides with a song by Collective Soul that basically says it all if you read and or listen to the lyrics. It's called "Better Now". Oh I'm newly calibrated All shiny and clean I'm your recent adaptation Time to redefine me Let the word out I've got to get out Oh I'm feeling better now Break the news out I've got to get out Oh I'm feeling better now Oh I'm happy as Christmas All wrapped to be seen I'm your recent acquisition Time to Celebrate me Let the word out I've got to get out Oh I'm feeling better now Break the news out I've got to get out Oh I'm feeling better now The world's done shaking The world's done shaking The world's done shaking me down The world's done shaking The world's done shaking The world's done shaking me down That's about it for now, I'll chime in from time to time. I've found this site very useful and informative over the last month of peeking in. Chuck "My Name Is Chuck and I Used To Be Addicted To Gas Station Hot Dogs."
