Hey MLD- your surgery is on the same day as my hubby's b-day! I am sure you will do great!
-
InProgress- that is cool! Let me know whenever you come to Cincy and we should meet! We also go to Pittsburgh a few times a year and go through Northern WV to get there! I am excited about being able to actually shop at Plato's Closet lol! Nothing there has ever fit me before

So far I am feeling better today. I hope it continues. It also helps my mental state that the boxes are starting to empty so it helps me feel like I am almost there. I try and "eat" every two to three hours. I am kinda concerend about what will happen when my last client goes into labor as there is no way to predict how long I will be at her house so I have NO IDEA how/what to pack food wise

It is soooo frustrating that all the docs have different docs. I would feel much better eating 1000 cals than the 500-700 I am getting. I am soooo grouchy. I feel sorry for my hubby and kids

Ok July Firecracker are youll ready?
Leslie replied to SmallerSoon's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am soooo ready too!! I got all the pre-op testing done yesterday so I am officially ready to go!! -
I started the dreaded diet today. Actually, it has been pretty ok. My doc uses Medifast so I can have their brand of pancakes, eggs, soups, bars, and shakes. I can have 5-6 products a day. In between, I can have sugar free popscicles, jello, and broth. I KNOW I can do this!! At least I will tell myself that until July 12th!!

July is just a few short days away! We are almost there! I am soooo excited. I am even excited about starting my pre-op diet cause it just means I am that much closer, I am sooooo over being fat!

Leslie replied to TheButterfly145's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ummm...... I am shocked that you have to do that. I had a prep for o colonoscopy once and I would NOT work. You will not be feeling your best cause your stomach will be cramping somerthing awful! I think I am glad I don't have your surgeon -
Insurance Troubles Again
Leslie replied to Bryn Dawson's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Goodness!! I will send energy your way. I have NO idea why insurance wants to make it sooooo hard for people to be healthy. -
Looks like there are lots of us changing our lives in July! I am getting soooo excited and soooo nervous!!

To tell or not to tell... that is the question
Leslie replied to Jensharley's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am only telling a very few close friends and my hubby. I just don't want constant comments from the peanut gallery. Plus, it will still be hard work to loose the weight. I will not be lying since I will be changing my diet -
Consent visit and final nut class today
Leslie posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am leaving to sign my consent form, take my post-op nutrution calss, and pick up my pre-op diet in about an hour. I am starting to get nervous now. It all of the sudden seems real!! Just wanted to get that off my chest! Have a great day! -
Consent visit and final nut class today
Leslie replied to Leslie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks! I picked out my food and I am kinda shocked at the variety I had to choose from. I hope that helps. It's a Medifast diet that is mostly liquid but I can have one bar a day. I start the diet on the 28th. Now that I feel like I have had my food funeral, I am gonna focus on eating as healthy as I can and exercising as much as I can too! -
You look fabulous!!! Congrats on all your hard work!
-
Great to hear!!
-
Thanks for the replies!

Ok, I know that I WILL eventually be able to eat semi-normally. That hasn't stopped my food funeral this week though. I start the pre-op diet on Monday and I have been going kinda nuts this week. I am totally ashamed of myself. I have eaten a whole jar of Nutella since Sunday and my friends are taking my out to The Melting Pot for a "last meal" tomorrow. Is this normal?? Ugh......

Will this be a promblem?
Leslie replied to honeydue28's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My son will be 1 on 7/22. That is just ten days after my sleeve. My doc said that I have to wait 2 weeks and then I can lift him without any problem. 6 weeks sound like a long time to me. I have had my gallbladder out laproscopically too and that was also a two week return to work and I was a pramedic/firefighter! -
Getting Support from Family and Friends
Leslie replied to CaliforniaJenn's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh my goodness Valentina!! I am soooo sorry that you had that experience. I am not telling my extended family about the surgery at all. If they as when they visit a week later, I am telling them I had a hernia repair. They are the most unsupportive judgemental people I know -
I don't know if I have one but it wouldn't suprise me! That is what I will tell my in-laws I had surgery for anyways
-
Yikes! I guess my will power is not quite as good as the rest of you! Thankfully dinner tomorrow will be light. I am CHOOSING to do an extra two weeks of the pre-op diet cause my doc only requires 1 week.I wanted extra time to change my lifestyle beforehand. I think teh reality is hitting me and it's scary to confront my issues with food. My husband and friends are super supportive so I am lucky that way
-
I must have missed the firecrackers! Hmm.... I like them both too. Grrr... decisions. What's teh concensus?
-
Yay! Congrats!! I will be sleeved the day after!
