Do you have any rather odd or unique goals?
Raine replied to meggiep's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One of the things that I have always want to do is swing dance but have been too self consious. That is one of my goals I want to swing dance with my husband and for him to be able to throw me around like a rag doll LOL. And lets not forget one of those retro dresses that are so freaking cute from that era as well without it looking like a tent. Another is to see someone I have known who hasnt seen me in a while and for them to NOT recognize me. Doesnt matter who. -
I've done it my whole life. Lose weight enough to get compliments and attention and then boooom back to bad habits. I don't know the answer and I'm hoping it doesn't happen again. I am confident that sleeve won't let it happen and that combined with the fact that I recognize it is a big help.

Hi everyone! I am 44, or as I like to joke 29 with 15 years experience hahaha. I am married with a 13 year old son who is the best kid in the world, not that I am biased or anything. My hubby has been so wonderful and supportive through out this process and I couldnt be luckier. I was sleeved on 4/27 and am at the dreaded 3 week stall but not sweating it because I have read so much about it and expected it wasnt going to pass me by. Love the sleeve, love the weight loss, love not having to take so many pills. I have to say that I love this forum also, everyone is so supportive and helpful. Makes this whole thing a little bit easier. One thing for sure is that I have substituted my addiction to food with an addiction to this forum. LOL I am in Charlotte, NC via NYC, anyone close by? Happy Birthday to all that have had and Happy Journey to everyone here!

I have the same feeling when I eat one bite too much. Feels like the food just sits there at the base of your throat like a lump. Takes about an hour for everything to feel right again. I made the ricotta bake and it was delish. I ate it as is. As a matter of fact I made it for dinner for the family, and made sausages for hubby and son to have with it. Of course they had bread with it too lol. Thursday I start on soft foods. My doc says the meats are not on the mushie stage and I have been having refried Beans with cheese and a little guacamole and sour cream on the side, mashed potatoes with some ff chicken gravey, oatmeal sometimes. Stuff like that. Hope you feel better.

When I was in my twenties this was a day of my eating: On the way to the train station stop at the local luncheonette and have 3 eggs bacon home fries large OJ and coffee Then stop at the bagel store and get an onion bagel loaded with butter or cream cheese and eat it on the platform Get to work and go to the cafeteria and have a western omellette with potatoes and coffee Mid morning have a big bag of my choice of chips and munch on them til lunch Lunch time, well what ever I wanted then. Mid afternoon finish off the bag of chips and then also get some sort of cake as a "snack" After work, stop at the hot dog stand and get a hotdog or a knish and eat it before I got back on the train Off the train I would stop at the pizza place and have 2 slices and a large soda Get home and my Dad would have a full dinner waiting for me In the evening I would make dinner and drink plans with my friends and go to a restaurant and have the whole kit and kaboodle, app dinner desert On the way home from that I would stop at the deli and get a 12 inch ham hero with chips and soda. Note that most of my eating was done by myself with no one close to me witnessing. So you see, everyone has their excesses and that is how we all ended up in this situation. That being said I would also look into what ahoy has mentioned just as a precaution. I am now in my 40's and through my 30's curbed a lot of that because I too got every comorbity known to man, to the point of taking 20 pills a day. I was sleeved 3 1/2 weeks ago and started this journey last June at 240. I am happy I did this and let me assure you I have had bouts with the head hunger and your new stomach will not let you eat that much anymore without getting sick. Good luck and keep us posted, this forum is made up of peoplen who truly care about what everyone else is going through and will do their best to help and support. -
Ignorance should be painful.

I go to this place called the Assistance League. I actually just went today and just bought 3 pants and 2 shirts for 4 bucks each. You can go to a local thrift shop or consignment shop to get cheap used clothes. Its worth it knowing that you will only being using them for a month or so. When I'm done, I'll donate them back to the AL. They are a non profit that benifits children of Charlotte for school supplies and anything else they need through out the school year.

I was in the elevator today and two women that work in my office, said "Lorraine, your disapearing before our eyes!!! How much did you lose? What are you doing?" So I told them 29lbs and I am on a high Protein diet. lol I'm not lying, everything I eat is protein lol.
-
Thanks! I did over do it a little last night and was absolutely misreble!!! I made Shelly's Ricatta Bake from the world according to eggface and where as it was really good, I ate way toooo much ugh. Was feeling sick most of the night and went to bed early. But on a better note, when I'm able to have meats, that dish is going to be freaking great, lets just hope I dont over eat the next time
-
Haha you are a poster child for this Pas! My doc says that getting all the fluids and Protein in takes a couple of weeks and for me he was right. On another note, Panera Bread will also serve you just the broth from their chicken noodle Soup. Its pretty good lol.

Do I have Sleeve-opause?
Raine replied to Husky2Healthy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I live in NC so I'm hoping the cold thing lasts through out the summer. It would be a blessing!! I haven't had the cold sweats but did notice the emotional state I have been in, not just crying but short tempered. I feel like I'm saying sorry a lot. As for the other, well I'm looking forward to that LOL!!! -
8 Day Post op Question
Raine replied to str8outtajerzy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm almost 3 1/2 weeks and when I wake up in the morning I get this "empty" feeling in my stomach and drink a shake. I equate that to what hunger is now because I do NOT get hungry either. Today was a super busy day at work and thank goodness I had my greek yogurts with me because the shake, two greek yogurts and water is all I had so far today and nada. lol Tonight I am making Shelly's Ricotta Bake from The World According to Eggface. Cant wait!!! -
I lost 3 pounds today!!!!
Raine replied to 1-4-Many's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the poop report!!! LMAO -
Hi Neil! I was sleeved on 4/27/11. My hubby is next in line. He is about 350ish pounds. He has gained about 100+ pounds since he met me 14 years ago and his doc wanted to know what happened and said "I married the carb queen" He jokes with the people in my surgeons office and says " Yeah she's the guinne pig, if she makes it through then I'm next" LOL We have a 13 year old boy and while it would have been cool for both of us to go through it together, it would not have been realistic. But knowing what I know now, I will be able to help him through the whole process. And I can't wait to show him the support that he has so lovingly showed me. I think we are all scared, nervous, and excited all at once. When you look at the big picture as you say, it is all worth it in the end. Good Luck!
