    Reflecting

It truly is the little things like spending time with friends that make us happy. So glad you are able to this again, you deserve to smile and be happy!
  3. NSV #1: Hahaha, Wednesday night I was walking from work to the gym about 3 blocks away and was wearing my leggings and a Tshirt, damned if I didn't get a freaking cat whistle. LOL Lets just say that made the workout just a little bit more easy that night. NSV #2: I was waiting outside the office building last night for my friend to pick me up for dinner and decided to touch up my make up, compact mirrior in hand and appling my lip gloss, I look up and in a passing car a man was looking at me, smiled and gave me a thumbs up. LOL definately made me smile.
  4. One year on our anniversary we had little to no extra money, I gave my hubby a "coupon" book. For little things that I knew he would be appreciative of if I did and he didn't have to. Be creative and sexy!
  5. Thanks, guys! I have to admit that it did feel really good!
  6. Again with no smiles, Pasquini??? LOL You look great
  7. I think it all has to do with how your body is built. I went from sizes 18 or 16 to 12 after I lost 60lbs. Most of my weight is in my belly area so like Tiff said its hard to find pants that fit just right, but I have found that in Target size 12R are a great fit for me. Looking forward to my first size 10 jeans lol.

  10. What type of surgery did you have? - VSG What was the reason you had the surgery? - I was taking 20 pills a day for various co-morbidieties: T2 Diabeties, High Blood Pressue, High Triglycerides, Kidney problems What was your chief complaint that resulted in the surgery? I have no complaints with the surgery, it is doing what is expected because it is a tool for us to use. My complaint is my own discipline to stick to a steady diet. How long were you suffering from the chief complaint? Still am LOL, back on the "wagon" again, so we'll se how it goes Was the surgery elective or medically necessary? both What treatments or diagnostic tests were done prior to surgery? blood work, body scan, pylori test, phsych test, nutritionist, physical therapist. Were there any preoperative instructions? My doc wouldnt see me until I was 90 days smoke free and a 2 week liquid diet Were there any preoperative issues or complaints? I didn't want to quit smoking and the liquid diet was hard at first but I understood why it was needed. What was the outcome of the surgery? I am only on 2 prescription pills a day now and that is because my triglycerides are a hereditary trait, not because of my diet. Was there a post operative visit? If so, how long post op? 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 month Were there any post operative complications? I had internal bleeding and was throwing up blood for two days Was there any additional follow-up that has or will take place? Just the post - op doc visits

    RESULTS FROM UPPING CALORIES

I am in a "stuck" place as well and thinoneday was for 7 months! She started the Atkins induction diet and lost 20lbs in 2 weeks. I started that today and hopefully the lbs will start to fade away. Good Luck. Thanks for the inspiration thinoneday!!!
  13. Thanks for sharing your story! So many of us wonder about how things go so far out from surgery, not to say your journey is like others or others like yours. This forum is great for support. Congratulations on the weight loss so far. Ask anything you need to, people here are very willing to help in advise and otherwise. Good Luck!

    Diabetes

Yes it does within a couple of weeks or days depending. I went from taking 4 pills a day to none for my diabetes because of the food I am eating and the amount.

    60lbs down pic

You are really doing a great job, Pasquini! Looking good!
  19. I believe it is the drastic change in our diets that changes how are diabeties are affected. I don't eat nearly what I was and my white carbs are non existant now which is a major contributor to T2 Diabeties.
  20. I had the same thing. It will last about 2 weeks and get better each day in that two weeks. Take your pain meds when it starts to be too much. I would go without during the day and take it at night when I was going to bed. Hope you feel better.

    Attention Scale Addicts!

I am sooooooooo happy you posted this Jackie. I have been at 176-179 for a month and a half now. Lost most of my weight before surgery since last june. I was getting upset and then I had hubby hide my scale and from everyones advise took out the handy dandy tape measure. I am losing inches. I do Fitness KickBoxing 3 days a week walk 3 days a week and do crunches 1 day a week. The scale doesnt move but my body is and that is what matters. Those pictures put it into perspective for me.

    A Wierd but Tasty Post-Op Meal/Snack

I do this too but instead of cream cheese I use munster cheese and also add in tomato! Really tasty. Because we can eat so little now, I find I savor the flavors of my foods now more than ever.
