AAAARRRRGGGGHHH! Gained 1.5 pounds!
Raine replied to Rootman's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Danger Danger Will Robinson! Next time you organize the family get together. -
I've made the bites, well my version of them and they are great, and they don't last long in the house hold. Also, the ricotta bake is a big fav too for the mushy/soft stage.
-
Thats how I got through the liquid stage too. Keep a cup of ice next to you and if your teeth can take it, chew away, its what I missed the most.

It is amazing when you have a support system at home that works with you and not against you. Kudo's to your wife for being wonderful. I will give a shout out to my hubby, each day he asks what kind of protein and veg I want for dinner. He looks out for me when I am slipping up and supports me to get back on the straight and narrow. I couldn't do it without him to say the least.

I agree with you passive aggressive. Nothing you can really do its his mother. Be the better person and let her be who she is, but tell your husband about it. My family has a rule to keep the peace. If anyone of us has a problem with the outlaws we go to the sibling and let them handle it. She reminds me of "Raymonds" mother LOL.

Any 400+ lb starting out that have reached goal or are close?
Raine replied to SharonL's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Yes, there are and they are doing wonderful on their journey. Good luck on yours! Do a search I am sure you will come up with something. -
I love love my work out classes. Just got back from FKB and it was intense! I have an Atkins protein shake before my work out if its in the morning and that usually holds me over to lunch. If its in the evening, I find I HAVE to eat right afterwards when I get home. Either a snack of some almonds or have dinner immediately.

Fitness classes! I absolutely love them, I find myself constantly checking the schedules at my dojo or gym to see how many classes I can fit into one week. Fitness Kickboxing at my dojo and mostly Group Power at the gym are my stand by's 5 days a week.
-
My new addiction is exercise classes! I love doing them and look at the schedule for the gym and dojo constantly to try to figure out how many classess I can fit into one week. I haven't been to a class since Tuesday and its killing me LOL. Had to work late and couldn't make it to my dojo or gym in time for the classes. I try the treadmill and stationary bike but find it too boring. Being in a group setting of (mostly women) people of all shapes sizes and ages who are gung ho about the same thing you are doing is really infectious!

You did nothing wrong. You needed a little extra flavor and you got it. You essentially made it a full liquid, so I don't see the cheat lol. Good job for being innovative!

Deciding on a Goal Weight?
Raine replied to nowatgoal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My first goal was to get off of all my meds, I was taking 20 pills pre op and am no on only 2 post op. Goal accomplished! Afterwards I Initially I set my goal by weight. No one ever thinks I weigh as much as I do and when I was around 190ish I said I wanted to lose about 50lbs more, people were a little shocked and thought I would look emaciated. I didn't think 140ish would be considered that LOL. I then decided (not because of this but because of how I carry my weight) to do it by size. At 181 I am in a size 12 comfortably, I would like to ultimately be in a size 6 just because I never have been lol. -
I used it to make smoothies w/crystal light packs yogurt, orange crystal lite, and skim milk, tasted like an orange cream cicle lol.

I think you will be fine . You realized what was happening and now you are "changing" the situation. Good for you and good luck!

Be a Body Listener - Not a Body Big Mouth
Raine replied to MexicaliVSG's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Fantastic post with great insight. I was a body big mouth for sure and in being so my body revolted on me and said no way, you want to do this then take that! And boy did I. It is such a learning process for everyone in their own way but also the same in so many different ways. We all may have different reasons for doing this but we all know that in order to make the change happen, we have to use our tool and like you said .... IF IT IS TO BE - IT IS UP TO ME! Thanks for posting. -
Labor Day - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???

Labor Day - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???
Raine replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ok, so I tried to quit smoking and gained 8lbs. I found my slider food and did the snack, snack, snack thing on all carbs! Salty carbs to boot so I'm sure some of it was water retention. I'm going to weight (hahaha pun intended) until I hit 10lbs below goal and then try again so I have some wiggle room for the notorious weight gain that comes with quitting. But I'm still going to stick to the plan and see what happenes at the end of the challenge. Gotta keep on fighting!!! SN.......Starting weight.....Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal Raine.........179...................182.............165........17LBS It is interesting, I was talking to Renee' (ybnormal) about it too, I almost sabataged myself yet again! It was always when I started to get compliments that I would start to gain the weight back again. I knew it was too soon to quit, and I knew what I would do if I tried and damned if it didn't happen exactly as I thought. Thank goodness for the sleeve because the 8lbs easily could have been 18 or 28! Back on track now. -

10 pound gain at week 15???
Raine replied to Lisa the loser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with all the above. Did something change in your diet? Low carbing does work really well too. -
When people starting treating you nicer
Raine replied to USMCwifeandTEACHER's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yup it does and is. I try not to do that to people as a standard. But I notice it more and more, men are nicer, smile and in general are more polite to me now then when I was heavier. Customer service people especially, and you would think that they would be nice to evreyone especially since its their job. Its all good though, as long as I don't do that maybe it'll rub off on others. I can only be accountable for me. -
DEFECTIVE SLEEVE?????
Raine replied to italianlady13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What everyone said above. I healed well and fast after my initial complications in the hospital. I had a stall that lasted forever too. You will feel the restriction like everyone says once you can eat actual food. -
Yes, I had the pain in the side for about a week and a half. It goes away with time, promise!
