One Year Gastric Sleeved Hooooooray! Did Not Hit Surgeons Goal Of 135... No Worries
Raine replied to YOLANDA240's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It is so true about the lbs and sizes. I am 169 and in a size 6 skinny jeans. My Doc's goal for me is 155. Not sure if that will be my goal or not yet. If your Doc has an issue with 110lbs in a year, then your Doc has some more serious personal issues that he needs to get taken care of. Congratulations on your success, bask in it my friend! -
WOW what a great dress! But what is even better is your smile. Congratulations, glad you had a great time!

Skinny girl issues...WTH!!!!!
Raine replied to luvinitcuzican's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Forensikhic, I know the "right" thing to do is to brush it off and not let her take up space in your brain buuuuuuuuuut I am too aggressive for something like that LOL. I'm of the mind that if you don't confront people like that then they will keep on doing it. Remember, misery loves company, and she sure sounds like one misreble b*tch to say those things to you. Some people just deserve and need a kick in the a** sometimes. I am sure the Brooklyn, NYC would come out in me and I would have a few choice words for her that would not be how a lot of people would handle the situation but my advise to you would be to just flat out ignore her. Make like she doesn't even exist, even when she says hello. If she questions it, tell her you don't have time for her or her games and rudeness and that she needs to move on because you already have. -
Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
Raine replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I quit before surgery for about 7 months, my doc wouldn't even make an appointment if I wasn't smoke free for 90 days, then I went back because of stress etc. They never did another test to determine if I was smoking again when it came time for surgery. After surgery, I tried quitting again and that is when I gained the 8 lbs. -
My hubby is going to cook our traditional Turkey Day meal. I plan on having a little bit of everything on this day. Maybe its not the ideal meal plan but I did this to have a normal life, and part of a normal life is to sit down and enjoy a holiday meal with my family. Now mind you, I'm not going to over do it, this wonderful tool will not allow me to do that, but I'm not going to restrict the things I eat that day. If I want a spoonful of candied yams, I'm going to have it, if I want a bite of pecan pie then I'm going to have it. My point is I'm not going to think about it and enjoy the day. I know my signals on when I need to stop eating and I will, but I'm not going to not have the yummies that come twice a year, I'm just not going to have so much of them.

Nsv - Slender And Young! Me?
Raine replied to SKCUNNINGHAM's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
She only spoke the truth! Since you lost the 100lbs, don't you feel younger, more beautiful, and you have always been cute -
congratulations Pasquini! 4 to go that is fantastic, my friend. I think maintanence will not be so hard, (not there yet so what do I know) You will be fine, you are determined to get there and stay there. Just keep doing what you are doing while upping your calories just a bit. My theory is that those who lose fast have a harder time with maintaining because their bodies haven't cought up to the trauma, but those who lose slow have an easier time because their bodies have had a chance to regulate somewhat and are used to what we are putting it through. Again just a threory. Can you attach audio to here? LOL I would love to hear the Rocky music when reading your goal thread hahhahah.

Skinny girl issues...WTH!!!!!
Raine replied to luvinitcuzican's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Ever hear the saying "Damned if you do, damned if you don't"? Yeah, this is THAT situation. I still have a little bit to go before goal but I get that too, "you need to stop losing weight" "you're getting too skinny" Skinny? Really? I agree that sometimes they can't really "see" you this way and think something has GOT to be wrong because they are so used to seeing you obese. That is their problem, not mine. Obese women hate me now, one woman in my office won't even talk to me anymore, I think they think I betrayed them in a way, and skinny women see us as a threat. Again, their problem, not mine LOL. I also wonder where anyone gets the gall to talk about my weight without me mentioning it? They wouldn't talk about it to me when I was fat, what makes them think its ok when I am "skinny"? Other than a family member I have never been told "You are getting too fat". Ignorance should be painful, not bliss my friends. -
This is more than a garden variety stall...
Raine replied to apw0's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Being a slow loser is HARD. Its hard enough what we are doing in the first place, but add slow losing on top of that and it is so much harder on the head and heart. Easier said than done but try to stay positive. I agree with changing up your eating habits too. Every month or so I try to do something different. I was sleeved 4/27/11. For a couple of months I was hard core exercising. When that seemed to stop, I went to eating little to no carbs for a while. Then I went (currently at) to eating strictly healthy during the week, Protein, veg or salad and relaxing on the weekend. This last part seems to have come to an end now and I have to start something new. I guess my advise is, our bodies may get bored just like we do and sometimes we have to kick start it again to give it some umph, make it interested again, if that makes sense. Have I lost a lot since surgery, NOPE LOL. I lost most of mine pre - surgery and since surger about 24lbs, total 71lbs. If you look at my numbers vs. yours, I have lost about 12.5% of my weight since surgery, you have lost about 15% of your weight since surgery. You were sleeved a couple of weeks before me too, so I say we are almost in line with each other % wise. Good luck! -
Haven't checked in, in a while, I have been a bad boy lately!
Raine replied to warrior68's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
First off the weight loss to date is amazing, congratulations. I think we all go through this eventually. We think I didn't do this to diet my entire life etc etc. I did this to lead a normal life. I think you identified the problem and now its time to move on. The sweets is not necessarily a bad thing, its the not working off those calories from said sweets. Makes sense? You started going to the gym again and that is great keep that up. Once you get back your groove there I think everything else will fall into place. You may want to think about doing the 5 day pouch test to kick the sweets thing if you need to. I hear that works wonders in getting back on track. Don't beat yourself up about it, just get back to it. Sometimes you just need a break from it all. Hope this helped! -
Coops, did anyone ever tell you how adorable you are??? You look amazing! Doing a happy dance for you on my side of the pond!!!

Have I ever been a small in anything! Ever! Even when I was a kid I wasn't a small I needed workout pants for the winter to keep me wam and toasty on my walks, especially considering how cold I always get now. I went to target and got the cheapy ones for 7.49 a pair, Hanes, and I had to get a small! I tried on the mediums and they were too big. Kinda made my head spin a little bit but also made me smile big. Got 4 pairs hahaha I love seeing that little "s" and not the "XXL".

How long were you out of work?
Raine replied to sabrina140's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My work is a lot of the same as yours. I was out a week and a 1/2. First week back took it easy and left each day about 3-4. Then I was all good. Be mindful of the energy level because of the lack of calories. That and if you are on BP meds, may cause some serious dizzyness!
