Going back on liquids for a week
Raine replied to pasquini's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I hear you on all that! I mixed things up a little bit and besides being happier with my eating routine, I am losing weight again which is what I wanted. I am strict during the week, which is easy because I'm so busy and in order to eat I have to go out to get it. Usually I don't have the time. I have a Protein bar in the morning, a salad w/protein for lunch, what ever protein and veg hubby makes for dinner and usually almonds or grapes for a night time snack. I get my salads from different places and change the protein in it each day, chicken, tuna, turkey, ham etc. On the weekend, I am a little more laxed. I allow myself those carbs that I want. I have a regular lunch with my family on Saturday's and I found this great chip that is popped LOL 20 of those bad boys are only 120 calories. So like I said I allow myself some room to live during the weekends. I still do my workouts, walking if I cant get to the gym or dojo. Other than this week, for the past 3 weeks I have lost. And I have been losing inches in the process so to me that is still losing. I bought size 10 pants this weekend that fit perfectly, I don't think they would have fit this way last week . -
When I started researching I won't lie, I thought about doing a malabsorption procedure because of my high triglycerides. After talking to my surgeon and discussing all of the ins and outs we both decided on the sleeve. When I told him what about the triglycerides, he said with the new diet and the weight loss I could probably manage that with one pill 2x a day. If that is not the case then we will revisit. I researched some more and ultimately decided on the sleeved. Like mose the throught of rearanging my plumbing wasn't apealing but I was at a loss as to how to get my numbers down. The band was OUT of the question, because the idea of having a foreign object that I had to constantly maintain and the possibility of all the complications later on down the line was not appealing. I know how to eat healthy, I've done it a million times, but if you eat too much, well its too much. My surgeon was right, I now manage my triglyceride numbers with 1 pill 2x a day. If I could go back and do a different procedure I wouldn't. The sleeve was the best option for me.

My hubby always thought I was a "10" regardless of what size pants I wore but today I couldn't put it off for much longer and went to Marshalls for some pants, ended up buying 2 pairs of capri length pants that I can wear with flats for the rest of the Summer and boots in the Winter and 1 pair of dress pants all for 36.00. Not too bad. But every pair of pants I tried on today was a 10, and they all fit perfectly!!! So needless to say I am stoked!! Can we say size 8 here we come?? I think I can lol From a size 18 to 10 in 4 1/2 months not too bad.

2 days post op doing good but have some questions..
Raine replied to Mr.Mike's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great job Mike! Keep it up with everything your doing. A tip I have with the protein drinks is put ice in it. It takes so long for us to drink it in the beginning that it gets warm and tastes like crap LOL keep it iced and it will stay cold and it also adds a little extra fluid. -
You know what that just told me? It told me that you are going to be a HUGE success at this. You fought it and won. Congratulations!
-
That is amazing, you look amazing! But you know what I liked most in those pics? You have such a beautiful smile!

Buyers remorse ... not losing weight and kind of sad ...
Raine replied to Sunny702's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 4 1/2 months out and was exactly where you are now. A lot of us go through the stall. You will start losing again, I promise. Your body just has to get acclimated to what you did to it. You will be fine, just keep looking in here and you will find so many in the same situation currently or that have been there. Good luck! -
I will post pics as soon as I can I am amazed at how well they fit too. no muffin top or pinching just button and zip it up LOL . Thanks guys. I have to say I didn't lose anything this week but I don't think these would have fit me like this last week. This whole process is weird, rewarding, frustrating, exhiliarating, etc. etc. But thank goodness for all you guys here because it helps to keep my attitude positive to know that there are others that are going through the same thing as me. Lord knows as much as hubby has supported me through this entire process and obsessing, I know I wear him down sometimes and have to button my lip LOL

Is there a basic calculation for this? Does anyone know an average or something for sure?
-
You can try the Atkins. They have a site to keep track of everything too which is helpful.

You gotta love a good NSV. You come to rely on them to a certain degree to help you get through this process. They don't validate what you are doing but they sure do make you feel good. Today, I had two, not one but two LOL. 1) I saw the light ... You know that ever evasive triangle of light at the top of your thighs. Well today, I saw it for the first time hehehe! I was just freaking giddy. and 2) I was talking to a co-worker, who knows about the surgery and here is how the coversation whent Co-worker: "OMG (she's young so she actually said the letters OMG lol ), what are you now a 4???" Me: "Uh, nope not yet but these pants I have been waiting to fit into for a while now, but they are a 9/10." Co-worker: "No way! Look at your legs, they are smaller than mine now and I am in a 4. Those pants have got to be sized wrong." Me: "Either way, THANKS! I appreciate that." Just made me smile.

I have to go shopping for some work pants tomorrow so we'll see what the number says LOL either way I feel great.
-
Thats the one thing during my weight loss that has stayed consistant. I was B and am still a B. I'm 44 so I'm thankful they are staying in the right spot. Good girls that they are LOL.

Don't be, do a search on stalls and you will see that you are not alone. A stall tends to last between 2-6 weeks depending. Mine lasted 4 weeks at 4 weeks. It's just your body acclimating itself to what you have done to it. Don't fret, the scale will move again. Start taking your measurments and see where you are going down there. You will be amazed. Its hard but try not to get on the scale as much during this period, its depressing and frustrating. BELEIVE ME! Not that I didn't do that to myself to be honest.

It was the first time ever I saw that! Loved it! Thanks guys.

How much does excess skin weigh?
Raine replied to Raine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So that would make it about 6-8 lbs excess. Keeps things in perspective I think.
