Hello everyone, Today is the day and I am both excited and a little nervous. The being put to sleep part is the part I am nervous about. The excitedness is from being able to start my new life today. I am being banded on Monday and I am on a all liquid preop diet with no more than 20 grams of protein, low fat, low sugar diet. Pretty limited in what I can have. I have lost 13.6lbs so far since Sunday. I am looking forward to getting a little more variety on Tuesday b/c it has been lots of broth. Sorry to say this to you but glad to know others have a pre-liquid diet that is similiar to mine. You know the saying--misery loves company LOL

I am on day 6 and I agree it is not as bad as I thought it would be. I have lost 13.6lbs so far and had a bad headache the first 2 days. I attributed it to sugar and caffeine withdrawals. Have not had one since then. Hope that helps

Jeannie, I am originally from South AL so we always went to Pensacola Beach or Ft Walton Beach. the sand looks like sugar there and will squeak when you walk on it. Here, not so much. LOL

Jeanie, It is pretty here. I do not go to the beach much b/c I am crazy. long story short-I am use to the white sand from the gulf and the sand here just looks dirty to me. Isn't that nuts? I am having it done in Norfolk, VA with Dr. Wohlgemuth. I am so excited. I start my liquid diet tomorrow and just ready for that part to be over. I had my fave tonight b/c I know it will be something I won't be able to have again ever and I am ok with that. I see you are having your done in Tijuana. I have been there twice.

OK so I am feeling really stupid asking this question, but here goes. How do you get the pound line on the bottom of your signature to track your progress? I have not been able to figure it out. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated. I get banded on 7/16 and want to tgrack it. Thank you! :help:

I am getting banded on 7/16 and since my girls are pretty large, I asked the question about underwire. I was told that it will not be an issue and to wear comfy clothing. Hope that helps!

My doctor said to not have soda ever again unless it is made flat either by putting it in the blender or left out. Hope that helps.

After surgery you hold fluids from the swelling that is internal and can last for a little bit. I would agree with not getting on the scale til you go for your first fill so you are not discouraged. Everyone in my support group has said the same thing about the weight going up or the scale not moving downward.

I have optima in Va and I am still going through the process. I iwll let you know once I get approval. I should know within a few weeks.

I have not told my boss what I am doing. I feel it is private and all I told her was that I was having surgery. By law employers are not able to ask the details of your surgery or appts. Hope that helps!

I am in Va Bch and my surgeon's office said that at the Portsmouth Naval hospital they will only pay for the Gastric bypass. In addition, they said that Tricare Standard will only pay for the Gastric bypass. Hope that helps.

Hello, I am new to this website. The surgical group I am using has a process that I go have to go through before I get a surgery date. I have a psych eval left and do that on 5/10. I can not wait to get the surgery date. I have given up soda already and looking to do some test runs with my liquid pre op diet. I am nervous about that. I am looking forward to reading the threads on this site. I was referred here by someone at one of the support group meetings. I have lots of questions regarding post op and it is encouraging to see the great results that everyone has had. Keep it up and I look forward to adding my success story as well.

I am in Virginia Beach, VA and had to pay $495.00 up front, but that has covered several things. Hope that helps!
