About Me
I went on WW when I was in 3rd grade and lost 11.5 lbs. I guess you can say "weight" has always been an issue in my life. I managed to maintain a normal weight throughout most of my school years, yet had to lose weight again as a high school sophmore. I spent most of my 20's fluctuating between a size 16 and 20. Then I went down to a 12 for not even 2 years and then up to a size 24. I've been there ever since and I'm 42 now. I've lost 20 lbs here, 20 lbs there but never seem to be able to keep it off. Not only do I not keep it off but I end up gaining more than I originally lost. I have a friend that is scheduled for the VSG in May and that got me thinking, why not me. I found myself jealous that she'll be getting thin and I'll still be in this fat body. Although I was happy for her, I was sad for me. After some serious contemplating I decided that it was for me. My insurance will not cover any type of WLS so it will all be out of pocket. It's worth it. I went to the free seminar and met with the surgeon on Thursday evening. My dear friend came with me, she's excited too. We'll be "sleeve sisters." After reading so many wonderful posts on here I decided to sign up. I'm looking forward to a new beginning.
Will schedule surgery on 4/11/11
Anticipated sx date 6/6/11
