Do you burp more now that you are banded? (non-productive, just air)
Joaquin replied to dustout's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions

I am on day 15 with the mine and I am still loving it. I use it to work out two times a day and I really love using it in the mornings. I agree that it cannot be used for your total workout but if you exagerate some of the moves you can burn more calories. I really like doing the free run in the morning since it really helps to get my day started. I plan on resuming the gym in the very near future but for now this is working out perfect for me. I finally started doing the strength training and it is now my favorite thing to do. Sometimes I will spend 45 minutes just doing them over and over again.

We got one and we love it. I have used it 7 days in a row and I had to get a massage today since I am so sore. I do the Yoga, Running, Boxing ( the one with the music) and Hula Hoop twice a day. I have unlooked many of the strength trainings but I have not done them yet and I am slowly getting into the balance games. I told my friends that I now get up early every morning and go for a run and they were amazed. I have always wanted to work out prior to going to work but I have a young child and cannot leave him alone, now I no longer have that problem. My son is in much better shape than I am but he loves when he gets to tell his friends that he worked out with his Mom.

I prefer working out in the gym also but I we got a Wii Fit for Christmas and we love it. I now work out twice a day which is something that I was never able to do and I get up every morning on go for a run. Yes a run via the Wii Fit. It is awesome and I highly recommend it.

I have a 10cc band. I wonder if the actual size of the band and the amount that it holds are different things. My surgeon told me that I have the smallest size band because I had very little fat around my stomach I( or something like that) and he showed me my pics/xrays and someone else's to help me understand how little fat I have. It felt good to hear him tell me that but I wished the rest of my body was the same way.

I have the same issue. I was warned that with the extra release of estrogen my period would be a lot differnet and they were correct. It's heavier and lasts a little longer.

I had to get an unfill because I got sick and now that things are back to normal, I can't seem to stop eating. Luckily I have an appt to get a fill on Friday or I would be in even bigger trouble. It's like I am trying to make up for not being able to eat and I am trying to get everything in that I can. Has anybody else experienced this?

I had my first fill at 4 weeks and I am almost back to that amount. I am afraid to even look at the scale but I also know that it will put me back on track. Sometimes I just need a littl reality check. Hopefully you will be able to get your fill and good luck with your weight loss.

I fill like I am going backwards. I have had two unfills however I am still loosing weight so I am not complaining. The day I started my pre-op diet I weighed 250 a week later, the day of my surgery, I weighed 240. As of yesterday getting my second unfill I weigh 166. I don't actually plan on loosing any more weight because my weight is 166 but I look like I weigh 20-30 pounds less, mainly because of my height and build. One of these days I need to learn how to update my ticker or just remove it.

Had fill in June but my band keeps getting tighter?
Joaquin posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I got my last fill in late June but I feel like my band is getting tighter. Wnen I first got my fill it was tight but then loosed up. Two weeks later I got my period and it got tighter and hasn't stopped. I have a fill scheduled for the second week of September but I have to cancel since I have plenty of restriction. I can't figure out why this happened. There are days when I have a hard time getting down Soup or a baked potato. Any suggestions???? -
I went from a 44dd to a 38c and I can fit some 36c's. I could probably go smaller but the I need room for the extra skin.

Update: I went to see the Dr. and they gave me an unfill and I immediatly felt better. They also told me that my pouch was swollen. -
Had fill in June but my band keeps getting tighter?
Joaquin replied to Joaquin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That makes a lot of sense. I was talking to one of my friends and she said that her band kept getting tighter and her doctor told her that it was because of stress. I have been going through some stress at the job that I have just tried to forget about but I guess my stress/feeling are coming through my band. I guess I better start relaxing. I don't really want to get an unfil either. I am only 8 pounds away from my goal. -
I did the treadmill 2 weeks post op but the elliptical was calling my name. I started it at 3 weeks but I would only do it for 15 instead of my normal 45. I waited about 6 weeks to do weights/aerobic classes and last but not least I returned to Ab exercises at 2 months. I am 7 months post op and I still have problems sometimes with the ab classes.

when you go to mcdonalds and order a filet o fish and come home and toast it.

I have tried to use a straws over the last couple of days and it does not work for me. When I would use the straw I would drink to fast and also drink to much which resulted in me having an upset stomach.

when you're in the mall and looking for lunch so you go to the food court and get a sample of the honey or teriyaki chicken and the sample fills you up. It's the cheapest lunch in the mall since it's free.

If I was only eating 800 calories a day I would never loose weight either. My doctor told me to stay between 1000-1200 and that seems to work best for me.

can anyone help me with this issue?
Joaquin replied to skinnysoonkim's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes it is very common. Once you start getting fills things will get a lot better. -
I am at 7.8 in a 10cc band and I have awesome restriction. I'm never hungry and sometimes and I have sit and think about what I even ate for the day. I used to track my calories regiously on fitday but I am finding that I know longer need to do it. I will of course resume when I notice that my calorie intack is increasing but for now everything is perfect.

POLL: how much fill in a 10cc band?
Joaquin replied to restrict2008's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am at 7.8 and I can't imagine getting a fill anytime soon. I can eat very little but I am also never hungry and I think very little about food. I think that I have finally found my sweet spot. I have lost 62 pounds and I have 20 or more so left to go. Sometimes I wish I could eat a little more but thats only when I am really enjoying what I'm eating. -
This is a very good idea. I may try to make them with ground turkey.
