bump i agree, need to see before/after of GUYS and this site sucks for organizing that stuff
-
Sure, there's a ton more women on this forum, but I know theres a bunch of guys too. Post your pics guys... see if we can keep it concentrated in this one thread. It would be nice if the forum made a section JUST for PICTURES with a category for MEN and one for WOMEN.... Before/after pictures are such a driver of motivation... I wonder why this isn't already in place.

No Whey... I'm allergic!
gdc replied to Kelly'sChipper's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you need whey protein ISOLATE i believe, that will be fine for your allergy -
I never really had D, but I do notice that I am going to the bathroom less now... I am also eating a lot less, and only 2~ times a day now though.

I really liked canned corn and canned green peas... so I sometimes make a "salad" of the following ingredients: canned corn cottage cheese ground beef, pan seared with seasonings mix and serve the corn can be substituted with canned green peas, also I sometimes combine both peas and corn together. the beef can also be substituted with canned tuna fish straight from the can, or turkey, etc... What do you guys think? Looking at the nutritional facts of the ingredients, it seems to be high in Protein, and not all that bad in carbs. 3 weeks out - 30lbs down

2 weeks, 3 days out... can I drink yet?
gdc replied to gdc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You guys realize that this new "healthier" life style isnt about punishing yourself, but about taking everything in moderation... My problem before was going over board the few times I ate every day. I didn't get the surgery to kill my social life, I got it to help me restrict the amount of food intake, and its working just fine. Everything is good for you... in moderation. -

Well, this thread got a bit crazy, even though I already posted an update. #1. I'm a He #2. I already did it, and had 0 problems, here is my status post re-iterated: ""I drank and had no problems... was drinking gin/tonics, screwdrivers and malibu/pineapples all night long - 2 nights a in a row. I did try a shot of Patron, but only did half at first to test it out and because I cant take the whole shot at once anyways (i dont think, didnt want to chance pain), and that did burn my stomach a bit, so I didnt do the other half. But mixed drinks were just fine... "" -

Hi Need to know if anyone drank when they were approximately 2 weeks+ out from surgery date... (drank .. alcohol)? What will happen if I do? What damage can it cause? Only my stomach was removed, so I dont think it will have any effect as my liver and everything else is still exactly the same as before... Im going to a convention and will want to party it up for sure... so wondering if I will be able to drink? Does having a smaller stomach effect how I handle alcohol now? BTW, i dont really drink beer or wine, I mostly stick to vodka/gin. -
Wanting to eat instead of drink
gdc replied to PollyPoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Anyone know what would happen if you ate some solids early? Something soft like chicken and chewed it really well... Whats the harm? -
So what did the doctor say to you? Im still getting these spasms and I'm 6 days out from surgery. If it wasn't for the spasms I would feel great and would be eating pain free.

He is no longer doing the Spyder method as apparently the tool was not accurate/good enough. I went there because I saw your clip on the Doctors and they changed me to regular lap. surgery after I had gone through all the initial testing, paid for it, etc. Sort of miffed that I couldnt get the Spyder... feel like they should have been confident in it before promoting it like that and *then* deciding they dont want to do it anymore ....

can you explain a bit more what you are feeling? I have pains in the middle of my chest/stomach area when I drink sometimes (surg on 7/22), as if my stomach is contracting like crazy or something and then it goes away. if i breathe in and stand up and stretch myself out a bit, it seems to help. is this what you are feeling as well?

lol, I am also questioning my decision to have the surgery now. Been thinking about whether they will refund me or not (cash patient) and whether giving up the ability to have delicious food is worth it to look better and be healthier.
