The only time I've ever dealt with that is when my cycles return post partum (with nursing my cycles return around 10months) but I think that's because it's been so long and my hormones are dumping. Maybe that's what's happening to you? Losing is causing a hormone dump... That makes sense actually. I can tell you what was suggested to me by my gyn....birth control pills....unfortunately the pill makes my psycho (seriously it's like roid rage only with estrogen and progesterone LOL)

Ouch...definitely should NOT have done that

Fish stick = evil and dangerous and not worth the pain. 1/2 a fish stick drowned in ketchup and then chewed to death is not worth the bubble of pain as it just sits there in my sleeve refusing to move for several minutes. -
So today I feel like I've been eating all day long, and I was worried so I just did a mental tally Breakfast 1 Protein drink (8oz) Snack Stopped at Orange Julius in the mall while running errands bought a 12oz Light smoothie w/ protein Drank maybe 3-4 oz lunch Still running errands bought a small broccoli cheese Soup from Panera, watered it down and fished out the veggies (tossed em) (8oz serving) dinner Roasted red pepper and tomato soup 6oz Snack Protein Drink (8oz) So I've eaten 34oz of food today or 4 1/4 cups Pre-Sleeve I would have consumed 4 1/4 cups of food by lunch time! And it would have cost me a whole lot more calories! (Total calories today (rough estimate) 700, could have done better on my protein intake though 61grams) I think I'm going to try to buy some powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken soup to carry with me on errands that way all I need is some warm Water and a cup...much better for me than the smoothie and soup from today.

Jumped in with both feet... sank right to the bottom
apple-saucy replied to BClarkIndy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
A friend told me that when I go out to eat now, I should just order an appetizer instead of a meal, or order things a la carte. Smaller, cheaper, and usually on target as far as portions, chicken wings for instance 4 wings are going to be right around 3oz of meat -
Hi Folks! Quick intro. I'm Apple, I'm a Christian, married to J and Mom to C, W, E and A I'm 29 and was just sleeved 7 days ago. So Hi

I feel hunger occasionally but it is "appropriate" hunger. I'll feel it if it's been more than 4 hours since I last ate, but it's not that gnawing hunger that I used to get, it's just a little reminder that I need to eat something.

4 days post op
apple-saucy replied to happy2behere's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds completely normal IMO. I can drink an 11 oz protein shake (pre-made, made with water not milk) in about 30minutes time. But can only drink 3/4 cup of roasted red pepper and tomato soup. It all depends on consistency and thickness. The 2 types of butternut squash soup I've tried are of medium thickness so probably 4-6 oz would be right around how much I could get down too (8 days post op) -
I feel really good, it's kind or weird really if I didn't have stitches and steri-strips in/on me I'd wonder if I had surgery at all HA!

What to do with nasty protein powders
apple-saucy posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tonight we made Milkshakes for the kids. 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream, 3 cups of milk 3 scoops of GNC's Alpine Punch whey protein barf-o-rama powder. Into the blender. Divide into 4 glasses Put straws in glasses and serve to unsuspecting children for a extra special bedtime treat. Then laugh evilly as they snarf it down and ask if there is anymore. -
Catholic Sleevers Please!

That's actually not accurate. Yes the risks of uterine rupture increase with each c-section, but it it minimal. The Latest research indicates that even after 3+ cesareans the risk of uterine rupture (during labor...not for elective repeat c-sections) is still right around 1% and of those less than half will result in major morbidity or death. ACOG (American Congress of OBGYN's) has actually stated recently that VBAmC (vaginal birth after multiple c/sections) is a safe and reasonable choice. The bigger risk with multiple c-sections is the risk of problems with the placenta namely acretta in which the placenta grows through the scar the worst versions being complete infiltration of surrounding organs. Which is why is so important for women to A) work to prevent the first c/s and VBAC. Sorry stepping off my "Birth Junkie" soap box -
I was craving something homey and comforting so I made some pumpkin Soup (it's rainy and cold here in Wisconsin...seemed appropriate and is ok for the post op diet) I made my usual 8 serving recipe...haha I think it's going to become a 16 or 20 serving recipe. So I dished up a bowl added a scoop of unflavored Protein. I got about 2/3rd through the bowl and just didn't even have the desire to pick my spoon back up. It wasn't that I felt full...it was just that I didn't need any more food in my belly. That is so so amazing to me. (and now after leaving the table, I definitely feel full so my body signaled me before It would have become a problem AMAZING!!)

Have you ordered.....
apple-saucy replied to movetolose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nope they won't think you are nuts...and if they do they won't give you an evil eye. My Aunt is gluten intolerant and often orders things is weird ways. :-D -
Wow, that does sound aweful and scary! You went home the next day?? My experience was totally different. My surgery was the first of the day, IV and gas in the OR, woke up in recovery already with a morphine pump button in my hand and a nurse right there reminding me to breathe because I was having trouble remembering to do that (anesthesia kicked my bootay) I slept the majority of the first 24hours and when I wasn't asleep someone was always checking in on me making sure I was comfortable. I did NOT have to do any barium swallow as my Dr. checks for leaks before closing his patients up by filling the sleeve with blue liquid. The next morning after my JP Drain contents were analyzed for amalayse Fluid (saliva and digestive juices) I was cleared to sip Water. I was up walking around the next day as well. The Catheter was removed that afternoon as well once I was drinking water well. I went home the 2nd day after surgery after not barfling up 2 meals and being disconnected from all IV's and still having good urine output.

I am gaining weight????
apple-saucy replied to Biiggmike23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
what are you eating/drinking? It could be that you just need to use the bathroom too -
Take a DEEP Breathe. You haven't done anything wrong. Sometimes our bodies need a week or two to catch up. Your surgery was 17 days ago, That means you haven't lost anything for only 10days...give yourself another week for your body to reset itself before you start freaking out. Deep Breathe Relax It WILL happen, just let the shock to your system work itself out.

What if laparoscopic will not work?
apple-saucy replied to kemo46's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Regardless of if the surgery is laprascopic or open it is still MAJOR SURGERY don't delude yourself thinking that the exterior incision changes anything. -
Guess who hasn't taken any diabetic drugs since the night before being Sleeved
apple-saucy posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
THIS APPLE Thats right folks. NINETY FREAKING FIVE PEOPLE!!!! In 3 months I will repeat the A1C test and if it is below a 6 I will be considered to no longer have type 2 Diabetes. THANK YOU SLEEVE!!! -
Hubby is making turkey burgers for the kids....I made homemade broccoli cheese Soup earler. I will drink the "juices" from the broccoli cheese soup and watch everyone enjoy Soup and burgers for dinner. Why yes I am a carnivore and am having difficulty with not eating actual meat...but faintly meat flavored drinks.

constipation post surgery
apple-saucy replied to bugirl928's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hon...you might just have to manually remove it. Gross I know, but it does need to come out before you end up impacted with stool. Rubber glove a little pushing and a couple of sweeps around it with your finger shoule loosen it enough that you can push it out the rest of the way...or you may need to dig a little. Sorry to be so graphic...I feel your pain after my 2nd child was born I spent 2 weeks without a bowel movement...it was torture and just "digging" was the only thing that finally got things moving again (I had been trying to go for about 4 days at that point) -
Can someone tell me why I chose this profession? I mean really? Was it the being surrounded by sugar and butter on bake days that appealed to me or what? Sigh. Last order for the next 6wks going out right now.

Newbie, Sleeved on 4/13. When can I smoke?
apple-saucy replied to Biiggmike23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mike, Making the choice to get healthy is a life changing thing. Yes your weight was out of control, which is what lead you to choose a Sleeve. You probably had some co-morbidities as well. When I read your justification for choosing to smoke MJ again (and yes that is what it was a justification) I was struck by the glaring evidence that you very likely have an addictive personality. People who are easily addicted to substances to stimulate their feel good responses in the brain and are heavy users of the substances weather that be alcohol, drugs, weed, cigs, or food. The good news is you can change what you are addicted to. You have already chosen to stop the addiction to food. You can choose to stop the addiction to substances that have a negative influence in your life (MJ is illegal, you risk being arrested, losing your job, not to mention you freely admit that life before the sleeve was spent completely baked on a daily basis) My suggestion is instead of focusing on things you want back from your old life, you focus on all of the awesome things that you have to look forward to in your new HEALTHY life. With peaceful and hopeful thoughts for continued healing and good health Apple
