Anyone from Wisconsin?
apple-saucy replied to Sheila RN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gotta give your body a chance to heal fully. My surg is on Friday. So far I hate the liquid diet LOL. How am I going to manage it later on LOL! -
I want food so so badly...it's ridiculous. I'm hungry and can't figure out what will fill me up long enough to hold me. It SUCKS. I find myself wanting to eat every 2 hours or so. Any ideas to help? So far today I have had 2 Protein shakes 32oz of Water 16 oz of iced tea 12 oz of coffee 1 cup of tomato Soup w/ Protein powder 1 cup of butternut squash soup. 1 sugar free popsicle I'm going to grab another 32oz bottle of water out of the fridge. I can drink 3-5 Protein Shakes per day so I've done 3 (the tomato soup w/ protein powder counts as 1 of them) Maybe I'll do another this afternoon before dinner...which will be more soup w/ protein powder. I'm not sure what to do other than watch movies and drink water and sleep. 4 more days right?

Day 3 of pre-op diet
apple-saucy replied to apple-saucy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not feeling so desperate now, threw some protein powder and a crystal light packet into my 32oz of water. Still have to make the kids lunch treats for the week (home made granola bars) so used to snacking on the seeds and chocolate chips, maybe I'll just have my oldest make them with supervision instead of me.... -
So I figured that Skirts would be a good clothing option to have since they are more forgiving than pants while losing wieght (no saggy seats!) So I went to good will (no sense in paying full price for something I might not be wearing for long) As I was browsing something caught my eye. A black shirt dress with a black and white grosgrain ribbon at the waist and a lovely burnout pattern on the hem. I checked the size...size 12...I have't worn a size 12 since...well since I was 12! I sighed and walked away from the dress. I kept thinking about it as I wandered the "Plus size/maternity" fashions section looking for skirts that are around my current size and could be taken in easily. I walked back to the dress and put it in my cart. Just to think about it. There is no way that I'm going to get to a size 12 right? No way I'd be happy THRILLED at a size 14/16 ya know. Just not in a sz 26/28 anymore. So There I was wandering around Good Will with two skirts, and a shirt dress I make look miniature. But I bought it. It's hanging in my closet now. What am I doing? I can't imagine myself EVER being a size 12 but there it is hanging in my closet...waiting for me. I'm so totally crazy.

Made a hopeful purchase today
apple-saucy replied to apple-saucy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Surgery is in 6 days and I am having daily arguments with myself regarding if I should buy clothes in smaller sizes to have around or not. I think I'm going to see if my cousin (who just lost 60+lbs and is now in a size 8 so proud of her!) has any of her "fat" clothes still We're both really tall for chicks (I'm 5ft 10 she's just shy of 6ft) so I'm pretty sure her stuff will fit the length. Maybe I'll do that. I'm going back home in July I should call her and have her keep stuff if she hasn't gotten rid of it already. -
Trying not to panic

Are you female? :-D I ask because it is possible for your body to hold around 5lbs of Water weight right around when Aunt Flo comes to visit -
1 cup chicken broth, 1 scoop unflavored protein powder, black pepper, 1ts of powdered Parm cheese, light grating of fresh nutmeg. Stir heat, eat.

I am on "full liquids" which means as long as it goes through a sieve I'm good. The ONLY time I'm on completely Clear liquids is the day before surgery. -
Good luck ma'dear !!!

dealing with late night cravings while on pre-op liquid diet
apple-saucy posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I'm a late night muncher, always have been. I'm concerned about dealing with my cravings during this next week of 100% liquids in prep for surgery. Any tips or encouragment? last night I had a SF freezer pop which helped, but I'm thinking I'm going to have to start going to bed when the kids do at 8pm LOL -

I'm thankful that I'm only required to do 7days on the pre-op liquids. I can't imagine 2wks. -
What are you most looking forward too after surgery?
apple-saucy replied to Beadingnurse's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am looking forward to one thing the most. Being the Mom I want to be. Running and playing with my 4 fabulous children at the park, taking them swimming, teaching them to ride horses, and going for bike rides. -

Thanks for the understanding Cherrybell! My Surgery is next friday April 22nd. Had a good talk with my hubby about making meals for the family and that I think it would be best if he handled it so I can avoid any temptations. (tonight sucked LOL I made BBQ Turkey meatloaf baked potatoes veggie and salad and couldn't eat any of it! I had strained cream of broccoli Soup (aka essence of broccoli soup) w/ a scoop of Protein powder in it. LOL) It's going to take time I know. I'm going to try the freezer pop again tonight w/ some iced tea to sip on. If all else fails...well I'll be well rested! -

Anybody Watch Ruby?
apple-saucy replied to notsochubbybritneyspears's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All surgery is more dangerous with "super-sized" people, which may mean that it was impossible for Ruby to have it done until she lost weight, and now she has the show so she's making money. Also agree that Ruby need to get to the bottom of her over eating. I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and can point to all the red flags in Ruby's life for that. It must be incredibly painful to either truly not remember it or work so hard to hide it. -
Hey ya'll so my Surgery is scheduled for a week from Friday (April 22nd) I did some shopping over the weekend and wondered if I had forgotten anything important (started my liquid diet today...I think I've already peed my body weight in ounces at least!) I'll be on full liquids for the next 10 days pre-surg then 2wks after as well. It looks like A LOT of stuff I'm hoping that it will last 3wks so I don't have to go out shopping or send my husband out with 4 kids in tow. Anything extra will of course be used still once I get to the pureed stage :-D So I picked up 2 boxes of sugar free freezer pops (50 pops in all) 50 cans of Ready to Drink "Diet Shakes" (a mix of flavors) 1 small canister of powdered Protein (chocolate flavor) 1 Large canister unflavored Protein powder (to add to Soups and drinks) about 3 dozen cans and boxes of various soups and broths 2 bottles of V8 Flavored Diet Water bottles (2 boxes not sure the count) Is there anything else that I should have on hand for the first 2-3 weeks post surgery?

WOO This is a bit surreal. I never ever ever thought that I would sign up for weight loss surgery. But here I am 29yrs old, 340lbs and scheduled for VSG 5wks from now. Amazing. I'm all a bundle of nerves both good and bad ones. Looking forward to the journey to a healthier me...for myself, my husband, and our 4 great kids. I want more than anything to be able to run and play with them at the park and hopefully I'll be able to do that very very soon.
