Once you have done your Pre-Op stuff, you will officially be done - all that will be left is the surgery. Just make sure to have whatever your going to take day of surgery, and you have the stuff you will need when you get home, like the Protein powders for your shakes, and all the liquid stuff you will need. Good luck, being a bundle of nerves is normal, I am there right now, as my surgery is Monday May 9th Keep us posted on how things go.

    Emotions Emotions...

Hi Joan - first off let me say, you are not nuts, I went through the emotional roller coaster as well - I think its part of the process. This is a life changing thing we are doing. I was told by one of the nurses that we would morn as if we have lost someone. Second, I am getting Sleeved by Dr Nick Nicholson on Monday May 9th! Nice to meet another! ~ good luck with your surgery, keep me informed on how everything goes Happy Friday!!
  12. So..... I had my pre-op stuff done this morning - Here is how my day went. Woke up to a Breakfast of Alkaseltzer with a splash of chalk, then the icing on the cake was to roll around on a not very wide table and not fall of, all the while having pictures taken of your insides. The next course was a sampling of my sweet sweet blood Mmmmmm which was followed by a bed to lay on while a most wonderful tech stuck little relaxing cold nodes all over my body to be able to see how happy or unhappy my heart was. After all this spa treatment I was then shown pictures of what my stomach would look like and what would be hanging out of my stomach when I woke up and told how I would probably feel after my surgery, all the while periodically asking me... So, are you ready? Hmmmm Let me think about that...

I need healing prayers and thoughts!

Get plenty of sleep, think positive thoughts, and just know, if your surgery is suppose to happen on Monday, it will.... Period! HUGS!!!!!
  15. My surgery is Monday, and my biggest concern is how I will feel after surgery. I had all my pre-op tests done today and was talking to the nurse and was telling her that I have had surgeries in the past and have never had problems with nausea. She looked at me and said, yes, but you havent had a surgery like this in your stomach, this could be different, dont be surprised if your nauseous, and if you get sick the first couple of days. This kinda freaked me out because I hate being that kind of sick, and I am sure it would really suck with having your stomach cut on. So please, all of you that can, what did you feel like right after surgery, please be honest, so I know what to expect and maybe I can prepare myself mentally for it. Thanks so much......
