Michelle Cicerello replied to Michelle Cicerello's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Awww thank you Renee - This has been the hardest, but most rewarding thing I have EVER decided to do for myself - There have been days when I thought, What was I thinking, but everyday when I see the weight coming off, I know it was the right decision, and hey, everything worth having is worth working for right? I really appreciate your compliment, sometimes thats all it takes to make you realize that you have the strength to move forward! Thank you so much for that! HUGS!!!!!! You just made my day -

The best meal I ever ate
Michelle Cicerello replied to meggiep's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You know Meggie, I had the same type of experience yesterday too - my hubby warmed me up some cream of chicken with mushroom and it just was bland to me, so we had this cream of corn soup that had some spiciness to it, so I had him add some of that soup to the cream of chicken soup - OMG it was liquid heaven, I had never tasted anything so good before - I sure can tell that my tastes are changing, because what I liked last week, I am not as fond of this week - Glad you had a music melody going on in your mouth yesterday! LOL -

How much weight did you lose on the clear liquid pre-op diet?
Michelle Cicerello replied to sleevesmagoohowdoyoudo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on my pre op diet for 2 weeks, and I lost 36 pounds on mine. We all (including my Surgeon) were very happy about this - it made surgery that much easier for me and my surgeon. -
HOT FLASHES
Michelle Cicerello replied to kellyw74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am having the same problem - I am either just right, too hot, freezing, I was so cold today that I went outside to try and warm up in the sun, and was still freezing out there too. I am NEVER cold, so I am thinking that it has be something to do with the major changes our bodies are going through.... hmmm interesting stuff huh? -
Kelly - I too have been a bit flushed since the surgery, but I just chalk it up to what my body has been through - I did get my period (when I shouldnt have) on day 3 after surgery. My biggest incision is on my left, and like yours it really burns (hurts) when I am up walking around and if I am up and around too long it takes about everything I have out of me. I was told that is because they put a really deep stitch in that incision - not sure why though If your still having issues with your BP I would talk to your DR tomorrow and see what he says and while you have them on the phone ask why your biggest incision is your right Hope this helps some

Red Velvet Gang- How Ya Doing?
Michelle Cicerello replied to meggiep's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am doing well, except the the incision where they did most of the work, hurts still when I get up and move around - I to got my period about 3 days after surgery when I wasnt suppose to - I just figured, my body is all mixed up right now and doesnt know what to do... Today I am getting in more Protein through the Isopure drinks, I really like those pretty good. I know for each of us, each day will get better -
Today I feel pretty good, I was able to go to GNC and get some Protein powder and drinks and my Vitamins. We then went to Target because I needed a few other things, but I was not able to make it through without being in some major pain so I had to go sit out in the car while my husband finished shopping. I am getting in my fluids, and today I Have started my protein and am slowly getting that in as well. I am starting to get up and around alot easier and I am hoping that by the end of the weekend it will be even better! One of the things I bought was a scale and I found that the weight I have lost up to today, including my 2 week pre op diet is 41. I lost 36 pounds on my two week pre op diet and I have lost 5 since I had surgery on Monday. I am really happy about that Now I just need to go and figure out how to get a ticker working in my signature. Hope your all having a wonderful weekend!

My Progress so far
Michelle Cicerello replied to Michelle Cicerello's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Meggie, I havent found a good unflavored powder yet, but I did find a good premade Protein drink, its Isopure and so far I love the grape frost - it has to be cold though, and then its really quite good, its 40 grams of protein and 20 oz of Fluid - I did get the big tub of Isopure powder in chocolate flavor as the guy at GNC said it tasted really good, and if I didnt like it I could bring it back - How are you and Kelly doing today? I am finding that today is a big day as my incision is not hurting nearly as much when I am up and around - I am NOT regretting doing this, I think its probably the best decision I could have ever made for myself! I am excited to see what the future holds for the new and healthier me! Hope your all having a fabulous day!! -

3 days Post-Op
Michelle Cicerello replied to susnl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have alot of gas too, but I also have alot of pain still in my main incision - and if I let my pain meds wear completly off, I am hurtin bad for about 30 mins while waiting for them to work - I do feel its getting better - I to am worried that I am not getting enough liquids in, because I just am not hungry, ever - so I have come up with a little plan that I turn the TV on, and when a comercial comes on I sip at each comercial, by the time the comercials are over, my tummy is full ( at least I think it is ) then when the next set of commericials come up I start sipping again - this seems to help in me remembering. Well I cant sit here any longer, it hurts, so I will check back in later -
5/9 sleevers report!
Michelle Cicerello replied to snowfie9's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi there, Glad everything is going well for you, I would call your DR just to make sure that the bleeding is nothing to be worried about. I havent had any nightmares, that would really suck to jolt awake from something scary when your stomach has been cut on... ouch!!! I am doing better, still having quite a bit of pain in my main incision, but I do think its getting better every day. I do however have this pain in my stomach periodically where its like the stomach spasams, and it will travel halfway up my chest, then diminish and go away - its mostly when the pain meds have worn off - -

sorry you went through some hard time - Glad your home and feeling better - I have heard that it is normal to gain weight after the surgery as your retaining Fluid from the surgery. Thanks for the pointers, I will definatly use the breathing exercise machine and walk - Tomorrow is my day! Keep feeling better! -
Thoughts the day before my surgery....
Michelle Cicerello replied to meggiep's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Meggie - I am there with ya girl, I was at one point today feeling kinda sad because at this time tomorrow, I will not have all of my stomach anymore... it was kinda sad.... This is for the best. I was told at one of the meetings with my surgeon that we will have a mourning time, we will mourn the loss of the foods we once ate, and the loss of all the weight, seemed kinda weird to me at the time, but now that I am going through it, it really makes sense - Keep your chin up, we can make it, were tough and we deserve it!! -
Tomorrow morning is my surgery its at 10:30am and I am now starting to get nervous!!! At least when I get there, wont be long and they will knock me out and the next thing I will know, is waking up in recovery ~ Here's to all the May 9ers out there ***Sending warm wishes, prayers and healing thoughts your way***
